Wade was running around the house like a crazy person trying to get the house decorated for Christmas. It wasn't enough that the twins were following him, ripping down all the garland and lights but it was also a day before Christmas Eve.

"Stop" he yelled and took Luke's stocking away from Mackenzie. "How did you even get that?" he scooped her up in his arms and put her in her pack and play.

"Da" she yelled at him and tried climbing out.

"Haha, you're still to tiny." He laughed and threw her teddy bear in the crib. She sat down and started playing with him. "Where is your brother?" he asked and looked around the living room. "I just saw him. Ahh why did you two have to learn to walk at 10 months? Luke." He called and then heard laughing from the kitchen. Wade smiled and walked in there, he looked around and saw blonde hair coming out from under the table. He jumped down to his level "Boo" he said. Luke screamed and jumped, smacking his head on the table and then started crying. Wade dragged him out from under there and kissed his head. "Sorry Buddy." He hugged him close and stood up. He grabbed a pacifier off the counter and stuck it in Luke's mouth. "Shh you're fine." He told him and soon the toddler calmed down. "Now, Daddy has a lot to do before tomorrow night so you two need to behave yourselves. Stop undecorating the house. This has to be perfect for Mommy."

"Mama" Mackenzie yelled from the crib

"You are so loud little girl." He chuckled "But yes, Mama." He put Luke in the pack and play with Mack and threw in a few extra toys. "Now you both have to be locked away."

He started putting back all the decorations that were on the ground and moved the Christmas ornaments up to another level of branches on the tree. "Trouble makers." He sighed

"Wade?" Jesse called walking into the house

"In here" he answered

Jesse walked in and looked around at the mess. "Whatcha doing?" he asked and waved at the twins.

Wade sighed "Trying to redecorate the house after the monsters tore it apart." He pointed to the twins

Jesse laughed "Not nice you two. Your Daddy is stressed enough already, can't you give him a break?" he asked walking towards them. Both twins' arms shot up, begging to be taken out of the crib. "I don't think so, your Dad put you in there for a reason." He looked up at Wade. "How you doing?"

"Well, stressing. This has to be perfect."

"It will Bro, just relax. You want me to take them?"

"No, it's fine. They have to go down for a nap soon anyway. Then I can actually get things done."

"Ring?" Jesse asked

"What about it?" he asked trying to get the garland up over the picture over the fireplace.

Jesse walked closer and easily draped it around the frame. "You have it? Know where it is?"

"Yeah I have it and I know exactly where it is. Mainly because I check every 5 minutes that it hasn't' disappeared or one of them hasn't' found it and ate it or something."

Jesse looked back over at the twins and shook his head. "They're lucky they're cute huh?"

"Yes" Wade grunted. All of the sudden there were cries coming from the crib. Wade looked over and saw Luke pulling Mackenzie's hair. He ran towards them and pulled him off. "Not nice. Leave your sister alone." He yelled and then got smacked in the face. "No" he yelled again "Ok, bedtime." He reached in and grabbed Mack out of the crib. "Let's go."

"Give me one." Jesse held out his arms

Wade handed Luke over and led Jesse up the stairs. "So, how many more of these you guys gonna have?" Jesse chuckled

Wade glared at him "Zero." He chuckled

"Yeah ok, you're a liar."

Wade smirked "Honestly, one more wouldn't hurt."

Jesse smiled. "The way you two are you'll have like 5 more."

"No way, these two are more than enough but I know she wants another one."

"She told you?"

"No, she doesn't have to. She's been complaining since they started walking a month ago that her babies aren't babies anymore and she misses the baby stage and wants that back."

Jesse just smiled "Well, have fun with that."

"Thanks" Wade rolled his eyes

After the twins were sleeping and Jesse left Wade took a beer out of the fridge and sat down in the living room. He closed his eyes for what he thought was a minute but was awoken by a soft kiss. His eyes fluttered open and he saw Zoe in front of him.

"Hi Babe." He smirked and sat up

"Hi, long day?" she asked and looked around the room

"Very, what time is it?"

"3:30. I got out early." She said and leaned back on the couch

"Nice, you can take care of your monsters now."

"Thanks. Were they bad?"

"They were them."

"Joy." She rolled her eyes. "What time did they go down?" she asked "I am assuming they are upstairs and you didn't sell them."

"No one would buy them." He smirked

"You would never sell our babies."

"No I would not. They went down about an hour ago."

"Ok." She smiled

"You ok?" he asked noticing she seemed a little off, not as cheery as usual.

"Yeah I'm good." She smiled bigger at him "So what did they do today?"

Wade was about to speak when cries came from the baby monitor. "Lots of that." He smirked and looked at the monitor "It's your son."

"Yes it is." She smiled and jumped up from the couch. A few minutes later she came back into the living room. "What happened to his head?" she asked

Wade looked at her "He smacked it under the table. He got a bump?"

"Yeah a pretty big one. How hard did he hit it?"

"Pretty hard, he was hiding and I scared him."

"Oh so you did this to our baby?"

"Not on purpose but he's fine. Right Bud?"

"Da" Luke said and reached for Wade.

"And he still loves me."

"Daddy's Boy." She smirked and then heard babbles from the second baby monitor. "There's my girl." She smiled and ran up the stairs

"You do have a bump." Wade said inspecting his son's head. "Sorry about that Champ."

The next day Wade was running around like a maniac. He hardly saw Zoe which was a good thing for him. He still had to get everything ready for tonight without Zoe getting suspicious. He was checking on the ring for the 10th time that morning when Zoe came through the front door and he slammed the drawer shut, smashing his finger in the process. "Crap" he yelled

"You alright?" Zoe asked but didn't stick around for an answer. She seemed to be on her own mission.

"Yeah, they still bend. What are you doing?" he asked as he watched her walk around their bedroom.

"Nothing." She said and walked out and into the kitchen.

Wade followed her. "Are you ok Babe?"

"Yep, fine. What are you doing today?"

"Uh, it's Christmas Eve Doc."

"I know, but I have to work this morning. You're not going anywhere right?"

"Nope, I'm here all day. Where have you been?"

"Errands, I'll see you later." She kissed his cheek and left the house.

Wade immediately pulled out his phone and called Lavon.

"What's up Wade?" Lavon answered

"Have you talked to Zoe today?"

"No, what's up."

"Something is wrong with her. She's distant and weird. I think she knows about tonight and not happy about it. Have you said anything? Annabeth? Anyone?" he asked freaking out

"No, no one has said a thing. Just relax, ok. You're probably making a bigger deal out of this then it is."

"Maybe, I just don't want her to not want this. You said she does."

"Stop freaking out!" Lavon yelled at him "She wants this and I guarantee you she has no clue what is going on. But she is coming my way so I'll call you back in a bit." He quickly hung up and smiled at Zoe as she walked through the door. "Hey Big Z."

"Hi, is Annabeth here?" she asked

"Uh, I think she's upstairs. Everything ok?"

"Yeah, can I talk to her?"

"I..I guess." He stuttered "I'll go get her."

"What's up Zoe?" Annabeth asked walking into the kitchen with Lavon.

"Um, can I talk to you…alone." She looked at Lavon

Lavon nodded and walked out of the house.

"Everything ok?" Annabeth asked

"I'm not sure." Zoe said biting her bottom lip

Lavon walked over to Wade's and walked in the door. "We have a problem." He said after finding Wade in the kitchen feeding the twins.

"She knows doesn't she?" he asked in a panic

"I think so. She's talking to AB now. I'll try and get something out of her in a little bit."

"Damn, what am I going to do?"

"Stay the course for now. The house looks great. You have their outfits?"

"Yes" he sighed

"Hey, relax. Everything will be fine."

"Not if she says no."

"She's Zoe, she's probably freaking out but she won't say no. I'll talk to AB, get the information out of her and let you know. Don't freak out like your future bride." He smirked

Wade couldn't help but smile at that. "Ok. These two need baths anyway. That will be a good long distraction. I'm still not sure if I should light candles. Knowing them they'll knock em over and burn the house down."

Lavon chuckled "Yeah, that might not be a good idea." Wade got up from the table and walked over to the fridge. Lavon saw Luke pick up his bowl out of the corner of his eye and lunged towards the table. "I don't think so Little Man." Lavon took the bowl away and put it on the other side of the table. He sat down where Wade was and stared at the twins "You two" he pointed back and forth between them "Your Daddy is under a lot of stress today and your Mama is not helping. You two need to be perfect little angels. It's Christmas Eve, Santa is still watching you and if you want Mommy and Daddy to get married you will behave. Got it?" The twins both laughed at him and Mackenzie threw her spoon at him. He turned to Wade. "Sorry Man, I tried."

"I know. Thanks."

"Our offer still stands to take them tonight."

"No, it's Christmas Eve. Zoe will want them waking up here for their first Christmas morning. Plus, they've got that sleeping through the night thing down pat now. We'll be alright. If she says yes."

"She'll say yes." He got up and slapped him on the back. "I'll go get some information."

"Thanks. Say Bye Uncle Lavon." He told the twins

They both waved bye to Lavon. "Be good for Daddy." He told him

"Da" Mackenzie clapped

A few minutes later Wade got a text from Lavon. *You're good to go for tonight ;) Don't worry about a thing.*

That text took the weight off Wade's shoulders immediately. Now he could concentrate on making this perfect yet again.

Zoe didn't come home until around 4:30 that afternoon. "Baby?" she called

"Hold on, I'll be right down." Wade yelled down the stairs. He pulled Luke's sweatshirt over his head and got his arms in the sleeves. "Alright you two, keep these on, don't get them dirty. Mommy can't see your t-shirts. Please." He pleaded. He picked up Luke and then Mackenzie and walked downstairs. "Hey Sexy." He smirked at Zoe

Zoe smiled and reached for Mackenzie. "Hi, I've missed you today." She kissed him

"I missed you too."

"How were they?"

"Pretty good actually."

"Good, they better be or they're getting coal." She smirked

"Uh oh." Wade laughed

"Uh oh" Luke copied

Wade shook his head. "You ready for the dinner and the tree lighting?"

"Yeah I just want to get changed." She put Mackenzie in the crib and then walked towards their room.

At the Rammer Jammer, Zoe, Wade and the twins were sitting with Jesse and Earl.

"You excited for their first Christmas?" Earl asked

"Yes, it should be exciting. They love to destroy things so ripping open presents should be fun for them." Zoe smiled as she redid Mackenzie's hair for the fourth time that night. "Kenzie, leave your hair up." She told her as the toddler pulled at the clip.

"So stubborn." Jesse laughed

"Just like her Mama." Wade chuckled

"Haha, you're so funny." She stuck her tongue out at him and laughed. "I'll be right back, this one needs to be changed."

Wade jumped up and took the baby out of Zoe's arms. "I'll do it." He said

"Uh ok." She said confused "I won't argue him changing them but that was weird."

Jesse and Earl nodded in agreement. "Very." Earl smiled

Wade returned a minute later. "Did I miss anything?"

"Nope, just us discussing your weird excitement to change the kid."

"Not excited, just figured I would do it." He smiled

Zoe just gave him a confused look and went on eating her dinner.

"You ready to be Santa again Dad?" Jesse asked

"Yeah, I like it. This year will be great though with those two on my lap." He smiled

After dinner the whole town was in the square. All the kids were lining up to sit on Santa's lap and the adults were chatting amongst themselves. Once Santa arrived Zoe and Wade got online to have the twins picture with him. Wade was looking at Zoe and she seemed to be somewhere else.

"You alright Babe?" Wade asked putting his hand on her back

Zoe jumped a little and turned towards him "Yeah, I'm good. Just thinking." She looked down and Luke who was trying to escape from her grasp. "Jesse was right last year. We would be chasing them around this year." She laughed as she picked up Luke.

"No" he yelled

"Shh" she put her finger on his mouth "Santa is watching you." She pointed to Earl and Luke followed her finger. "Ma" he hid his face in her neck and wrapped his arms around her neck. "Uh oh. I don't know if he likes Santa." She chuckled

Wade looked at his son hiding "Oh boy. This should be fun. What do you think of Santa, Mack?" he asked the tiny toddler in his arms and she just smiled at him.

Once they were next, they walked up and Wade put Mackenzie on Earl's lap. She looked up at him with a very scared look on her face. Zoe handed Luke over and he immediately started screaming and reaching for her.

"What do we do"? She whispered to Wade

"Move." He laughed and dragged her away.

Luke's screams got louder and that only made Mackenzie start. Earl tried to calm them down but it was no use. Once they saw Tom take the picture they quickly removed the twins from Earl's lap and walked away.

"Well that was fun." Wade chuckled after they finally stopped crying

"Oh yeah, now we have that classic kids screaming on Santa's lap picture."

"I like those though." Wade smirked as he put Luke down and he started running away. "Hey" he said and lunged forward grabbing Luke. "No way." He turned to Zoe "Why didn't we bring the stroller?" he laughed

"No idea. That was dumb."

After the tree was lit Wade turned to Zoe. "You ready to go?

"Yeah, we should get them to bed."

"Uh huh." He nodded with a smirk.

As they walked through town square they passed Lavon and AB. Lavon winked at Wade and nodded, Wade returned a smirk and nod.

"There they go." Lavon whispered to AB

She couldn't help but smile "They're so cute, perfect little family."

"Almost perfect." Lavon kissed her head

Once they got in the house Zoe was heading towards the stairs with Mackenzie. Wade grabbed her arm. "Hold on, before we put them to bed we have a little surprise for you."

Zoe smiled and turned around "Oh yeah?"

"Yeah, so if you could go into the bedroom for like five minutes we will call you when it's ready."

"Ok" she put Mackenzie down and Wade took the babies hand "I guess, I'll be in there." She said and turned towards the bedroom.

"Ok" he smiled and walked into the living room.

He put the twins in the pack and play until he was fully ready. He put the flowers around and decided to light four candles and dimmed the lights. He checked the ring box, making sure it was in there and then took the twins sweatshirts off of them. "Good job keeping your clothes clean." He took them both out and stood them where he hoped they would stay. "Just stand here and look cute." He told them. "Zoe." He called and knelt down behind the twins.

Zoe walked into the living room and looked around. She looked down at the twins in front of Wade and squinted, trying to read their shirts from the hallway. It took her a few more steps and then she read Mackenzie's shirt.

"Will you" she paused and looked at Luke's shirt "marry us…" she paused and her eyes immediately went to Wade "Wade." She said as her hand flew over her mouth, her eyes began to well and she got a few steps closer.

Wade cleared his throat and looked up at her. "I know their shirts pretty much say it all but Zoe, I love you so much. Our little family is the best thing to have ever happened to me, I have learned so much about myself in the past 2 years and my life has completely changed because of you and them. I could never have picked a better mother for my children nor would I want to. You're amazing with them and I want to spend the rest of my life watching you watch them grow up. I know we have been playing house for a year now but how bout we make it official Doc? Will you marry us?" he held out the ring and looked up at Zoe who was full on crying.

She couldn't move, she couldn't speak, all she did was stare down at Wade and the twins with tears rolling down her cheeks and a giant smile on her face.

"Mama" Luke walked over to her and pulled on her leg.

She broke her stare and looked down at the little blonde attached to her leg. Hazel eyes staring up at her with a giant smile. She looked back over at Wade and shook her head. "Yes, absolutely yes." She smiled at him

Wade popped up from the floor and practically knocked Mackenzie over to get to Zoe. He pulled her into him and kissed her. "Da" Mackenzie called pulling on his shirt. Wade pulled away from Zoe and gave her another quick kiss before slipping the ring on her finger.

"I love you so much." He whispered

"I love you too." She gave him a kiss. "This is amazing, perfect, I can't believe it." She beamed and wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him down for another kiss.

Wade just smiled at her and pulled her closer. "You're perfect." He whispered

"Ma" Luke pulled on Zoe again

"Da" Mackenzie pushed Wade's leg and he stumbled a little.

He chuckled, leaned down and picked her up. Zoe did the same with Luke and she kissed his cheek.

"I'm lucky they don't talk that much." He laughed "They would have spilled the beans weeks ago. Although I would have put money down that you knew this was happening."

"I had no idea, I swear. This was a complete surprise." She smiled up at him

"Good, you had me worried the past couple days with the way you were acting." Zoe looked down and bit her lip. "What?" he asked knowing full well that there was something she wasn't saying.

"You noticed?" she asked

Wade took a step back and looked at her. "Zoe, what's going on?"

Zoe smiled and looked up at him. "I have a surprise for you as well." She told him. Wade just looked at her, waiting for her to continue. She looked at Luke and then Mackenzie and then back to Wade. "They're not the babies anymore." She smiled

Wade stared at her for a minute "What?"

Zoe chuckled "I'm pregnant Wade. Surprise."

Wade couldn't help the giant smile that spread across his face. He wrapped his free arm around Zoe and pulled her closer to him and kissed her. "Really?" he asked when he pulled away

"Yeah, I found out the other day."

Wade kissed her again and leaned his forehead on hers "I love you."

Zoe smiled "I love you too. This is yet another Christmas Eve I will never forget."

"So that's what you were talking to AB about this morning?"

"Yeah, I was freaking out. But I promise she didn't tell me a thing about tonight. Do they even know?"

"Yeah they knew. Good thing I proposed huh?"

Zoe laughed "Yeah, it's about time we make this official." She looked down at the ring

"Before or after?" he asked now placing his free hand on her stomach

"Before. I'm only 4 weeks along so we have some time to plan before I'm huge again." She chuckled

"I don't' care what you look like as long as you're my wife."

"Well I do." She kissed Luke's head and then Mackenzie's. "I guess these were the crazier things that happen on this night than a doctor and bartender you were talking about a couple years ago huh?" She leaned her head on his shoulder

Wade smiled "I never would have expected something this crazy. But I guess with us, life is full of crazy surprises." He kissed her one more time before they headed upstairs to put the twins to bed.
