Began: October 3, 2013
Summary: No one regrets his death. Tom Riddle Jr. reflects on his life. Completely canon compliant.
Warnings: None that I've noticed.
Author's Notes: Strongly based off the album Amaryllis by Shinedown (Especially Bully).
I wish I could honestly claim to own Harry Potter or the album Amaryllis. Sadly, I remain an untalented sixteen year old girl.
PS. Reviews would be highly appreciated -hint hint-
Tom Riddle Jr. had many regrets. There was so much he could have differently- so much he could have done better.
If he'd never tried to kill Harry Potter... If he'd never messed with Potter, he could have won.
But the fact of the matter remained that he had. He had put faith in Severus Snape's words- how could he have forgotten to trust no one?
And now, well, now he was dead. And no one cared. The ones that would have- also dead or worse, soulless.
Here, all those he had killed mocked him. Pointed out his failures.
"Defeated by a boy of seventeen? Pathetic!" They mocked, and the once powerful Dark Lord knew they were right.
Really, only a few didn't mock him- James and Lily Potter. Severus Snape. Sirius Black. Remus Lupin. Albus Dumbledore. Fred Weasley. Voldemort suspected it was because they didn't find it pathetic that he was defeated by Harry Potter, because they had believed in the boy. And that was all fine and dandy for them, but Tom wished they would just go ahead and poke fun of the failure of a Dark Lord because he felt like they were plotting something- even though they were all dead, he felt paranoid... And for once he was right to be paranoid.
"Tom Marvolo Riddle," James Potter intoned one day, "After much deliberation, we of the council have decided your fate."
Well, Tom had not expected this...
"You have committed countless crimes against not just the wizarding world, but the muggle world too." Lily Potter added.
"You have killed and tortured without mercy, and now we will show you no mercy." Sirius Black continued.
Tom was scared now, and he turned to flee, but Remus Lupin was right behind him.
Finally, numerous voices spake as once. "You do not deserve existence, so we will remove you from existence. Goodbye, Tom Riddle."
And he knew no more.
