Ten Years Later

Edward poked his head into the room where his two sleeping angels lay. Since Bella was still getting dressed, he had been given wake up duty. The kids would be fine later in the day, but early mornings were hard on everyone. He flipped on the light, and both heads disappeared under the covers.

"Come on. Up and at 'em!" he called cheerily but only got groans in answer. He chuckled and sat on the edge of the pink unicorn bed. "You guys wanted to come today. You gotta get up."

"Ten more minutes, Daddy," a little voice came from the Star Wars bed.

"Nope."

"Five more minutes."

"I thought you guys were excited."

"It's still dark outside."

"Your Mom's excited."

One head, complete with red curls and chocolate brown eyes peeked up over her pink blanket. Edward couldn't help smiling down at her until she offered her next comment. "Do we get to help in the fighting today? Uncle Emmett said he was gonna let Kyle use a club!"

"A lightsaber is better than a club."

"You can't use a lightsaber in the medium ages."

"It's not the middle ages. It's just a made up medieval fantasy world."

"Jacen, Jaina no fighting." Edward almost sighed. Who ever said that twins were closer than normal siblings should be locked in the stocks. "Get up, get dressed and we'll see about letting you help with the fighting, ok?"

With a scream to the affirmative, they both jumped out of bed, chattering away about what to expect while spending the day LARPing with their parents. Edward almost had chuckle. In some ways Jacen and Jaina loved the game more than even Edward and Bella did. Like parents like kids.

The car ride was not a quiet one. Jacen refused to go as anything but a Jedi and, as Jaina took every opportunity to point out, it was not genre mashup day. This lead to the typical full argument between the two. Bella finally had to put her foot down and use her power as "Queen" to allow her little Jedi.

Edward yawned and sipped his rapidly cooling coffee. Bella grinned at him out of the corner of her mouth. It was going to be a long, but enjoyable, day.

The field they played in hadn't changed much in the ten years since Edward had walked onto it the day his life changed.

Jacen and Jaina ran off to find their cousins while Edward helped Bella out of the car. "You ready for another day, soldier?" Bella asked.

"Whatever my queen demands of me."

"Whatever, you say? Maybe we can convince Dash the Horrible and Lady Winter to watch the kids for a couple hours. I have an itch that only you can scratch."

"Um, My Lady, what are you suggesting?"

"Get the peons out of the tent, and I'll show you."

"Aw, poor, humble peons. I used to be like them, you know?"

"You were never like them."

"No?"

"No, you were far too good."

"I love you, Bella."

"I know."

Edward leaned down and was about to press his lips to wife's when they were interrupted by squeals and indignant humphing.

"Jacen hit me with a sword!"

"Jaina and Zeke weren't playing by the rules!" Jacen accused. "Ben, Kyle, and I hit them with magic, and they wouldn't stay down."

Jaina blushed, but her best friends' greens eyes sparkled with mischievousness. "I told you. We are wearing enchanted armour that reflects magic, so your blows didn't count."

"That's not fair!" Kyle bellowed.

Bella cleared her throat which caught all their attention. Edward smirked. He had no idea how she did it, but she could get them to listen without raising her voice to be heard over them. "I don't believe I've given any of you permission to use magic, have I?"

"No ma'am," they chorused.

"Alright, go play, but nicely." The five of them ran off,and Bella smirked. "The two of them are going to be firecrackers when they get older."

"Who, Jacen and Jaina? They already are."

"No. Jaina and Zeke. Please tell me you've seen how the two of them are together?"

Edward thought back to when he had watched Jaina and Zeke. Other than the fact he had thought it a little odd for a while that her best friend was boy, there hadn't been anything strange. Then it hit him. A boy. "You don't think?"

"Like mother, like daughter."

"No. No. Bella, I'm not ready."

"He's a good kid."

"S'up kids!" Emmett threw his arms over their shoulders. His green painted skin and yellow teeth were proof of how much he enjoyed their weekend escapes. Of course Rose, or Lady Winter as she prefered, was right behind him and as beautiful as ever.

"Bella is trying to matchmake our daughter."

"Who with?" Rose asked.

"Zeke."

"Oh, they would be cute. It's a great little love story."

"Not as good as ours." Edward whispered into Bella's ear.

She shook her head, chocolate brown eyes full of light, life, and, most importantly, hope. "No, I don't think so. Ours is perfectly geeky."

Edward smiled, kissed her cheek, and nodded. It was a perfect life, come what may.
