Myth:Does your character have any beliefs that are simply not correct or acceptable?

"Aliens."

Grant Ward rolls his eyes, and spares his girlfriend a glance before returning to the file on his lap. She'd been throwing theories at him all morning, and they'd finally stumbled on her favourite. Even before the GH-325 incidents, she'd been throwing the word 'alien' around and was hoping for the day they were actually correct.

"No."
"Why not?" she asks, pulling the file from his hands, dropping it on the floor and moving so she sat almost on top of him, "We know they're real. I mean, I have alien blood in me. Why isn't it aliens this time?"
"Because it's not aliens. It's probably just Asgard again."

He meets her eyes and watches as she pouts, her bottom lip stuck out and her eyebrows creased as she bats her eyelids.

"I am not going to the Director with the theory of aliens again Skye, it worked once, but he's not going to accept it again."
"Then we'll take it to Coulson, I'm sure he'll look into it."
"No."
"Grant."
"No."

Skye falls forward, resting her head on his shoulder as she groans. With a shake of his head he loops an arm around her waist and pulls her closer to him. The hacker was adamant, persistent, he'll give her that much, but one can only go searching for the unknown so many times before Nick Fury threatens to take away your mobile command unit.

"It'll be right one day."
"Not today babe. Not today."

Grant can only smile at her reluctant sigh, pressing a kiss to the top of her head and resting his cheek against her. They stay like this, the rhythm of their chest's rising and falling eventually becoming in sync, until her breath evens out so much that he's sure she's fallen asleep. And he's glad.

She hadn't stopped working, refused to stop working. Late nights, cups of coffees, and redacted SHIELD files, trying to find out anything and everything about her family and her past. She was hurting, finding out that her only lead to her mother was dead had ripped her apart. Grant can only supposed she's just trying to cope, dreaming of out-of-this-world explanations for everything, trying to find some truth in it all.

He's sure Coulson will tell her the truth. Just maybe not today.

And that's it.

Ten one-shots finished, and just in time for the (mid?)season finale. /CRIES-A LOT. This season has been so emotional man. I'm just emotionally exhausted thinking about it.

So here's to having 5 hours out of the way in a 37.5 hour work week, and hopefully being able to sleep in on Thursday.

Thank you!
