She blinked as she saw her younger self. She felt like she was falling back down the rabbit hole when she looked at the little girl. Though she had already fallen into this seemingly deadly place, it didn't bring her comfort to see a younger version of herself. The blue dress was dirty, like it had been after climbing out after Rabbit. Her hair looked like it hadn't been washed in days, maybe even weeks. And it looked like someone had hit her, bringing back father trying to knock sense into her every time she went back home.
Alice's chest hurt as she looked at the girl, desperately trying to get her out of her head. The little girl was wrong. Anastasia wasn't the cause. She was a part. There was a difference. And when she didn't kill the queen? The little girl was what Alice always knew she was supposed to be. Bow perfect, white stockings bright and dress crease free.
Now, as she wondered to a clearing with a handful of that magical dust, she wondered why the girl had chilled her so.
"Alice..." She heard her younger self. She ducked under a branch and glanced behind her. The little girl was nowhere to be found. "Alice..." She heard it again, only it sounded older. She started to run. She jumped over a log and saw sun shining brighter ahead. She got the edge and looked out over the valley below. She blew the dust thinking only of Cyrus and waited.
"Alice!" She heard behind her again, only this wasn't the chilling little girl, or an older female voice. She spun around.
"Will!" Her eyes were wide as she looked at him. He came closer to her. "Will?" she questioned this time because he couldn't be real. He couldn't be standing in front of her. He was supposed to be stone. She reached out and touched his cheek. "Oh, goodness, you are real!" she all but sobbed as s he threw herself into his arms. He chuckled, the sound sending all the bad thoughts of her childhood and the things she tried to run from away.
"Yes, Alice, I'm real," his accent coming through and she nearly cried. "I saw you running." Alice sighed, but didn't explain. They just stood there holding each other like live lines "I think Ana set me free." His words were sudden bringing them back to reality. Alice pushed away from him and looked up at him confused.
"She's not strong enough to cancel Jafar's magic. She would-" Alice's eyes went wide. "She would need help! That's why she wanted the dust!" Alice rambled. Will chuckled again. "Oh, Will, she still loves you!" Alice cried.
"That doesn't matter. All that matters is getting Cyrus and getting the 'ell out of Wonderland." Alice agreed and turned back to where the dust had gone. Jafar's tower was in view, and together she and Will set off to find her love.
Just something short because little Alice was creepy and I'm in love with Will/Alice interactions. I know that they won't end up back together for the journey like this, but it's fun anyways.
