Hey guys! I hope you'll like this chapter!
The sense of fear and panic surrounded her as she ran through the seemingly never-ending warehouse. There was someone chasing her, but she couldn't see who it was.
"G!" She screamed, frantically drawing her eyes around the building, looking for a door or a window. A heavy, silver door suddenly appeared in front of her, giving her a chance to escape. Pulling the door open with all her strength, expecting to see the pavement outside, she falls through the door, landing with an 'oomph' on the floor. Looking up, a tall person towers over her, and her heart tarts pumping straight out of her chest. The man bends down into the light, showing his face and pulling the trigger.
"AJ! Aje, wake up!" G shouts, shaking her shoulders. She was screaming, thrashing and calling out his name in her panicked state. Her hair was plastered to her forehead, her skin covered in sweat. She was hyperventilating, struggling to calm down. She looked so scared.
Her eyes flew open, the soft morning light reflecting off her dilated pupils. She looked up at him, her face still painted with fear.
"It was just a dream. Just a dream." He whispers into her hair, pulling her closer to him.
"God, I'm so sorry." She whispers, looking up at him.
"Don't be." He reassures her.
"Must be the hormones. Making my brain go out of control." She says.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Callen asks her, running his hand up and down her bare arm.
"No. No, I'm fine." She smiles innocently.
"Okay. Do you want breakfast?"
"Do I want breakfast?" She says sarcastically. "Yes. Please." She says with a smile, before it falls into a frown.
Her face takes a greenish tint, and she leaps up from the bed and sprints to the bathroom. The sound of her spilling up her guts is the only sound for a few seconds, before it stops and she emerges from the bathroom. The morning sickness had started a few days ago, and she was already complaining about it. The sheer effort of the act makes her chest wound hurt like hell, and that doesn't help the fact that she repeatedly throws up, leaving a less-than-plesant taste in her mouth.
"It's only been two months, and I'm ready to get this baby out of me." She laughs.
He smiles and walks over to her, putting his hands around her waist, and kissing her on the head. "Me too."
"Michelle wants to invite you two over for dinner." Sam tells him, as they sit in the Challenger, waiting for a suspect to come out of a diner in West Hollywood.
"Great." G says, not even attempting to make it sound more enthusiastic. "Hours of small talk with you? I'll pass."
Sam laughs. "What I mean by 'Michelle wants to have you and AJ over for dinner' is that you are going to come if you don't want to suffer the wrath of my wife." He says. "Anyway, I'm sure that Michelle would be way too occupied with telling AJ everything she knows about pregnancy to notice you're even there. You're going."
G sighs. "Fine. When?"
"Saturday night. Michelle's sister agreed to mind the kids that night." Sam replies. "And dress nice, will you? A suit. Not jeans and a t-shirt."
"As you wish." He quips sarcastically.
The conversation then ends when the suspect emerges from the diner.
The case finishes without a hitch, and the five agents begin to pack up for the evening, at a rare six o' clock.
"Hey, Callen?" Kensi says as she picks up her laptop case. "Do you mind telling AJ that I'll pick her up tomorrow at three?"
"Where are you two gals going?" Deeks asks, irritating his partner.
"Five 'gals', actually, Deeks." Kensi replies.
"Oooh, sounds fun." He laughs.
"I haven't even told you where we're going!" Kensi smiles.
"Then tell me." The blond detective says.
"AJ, Lucy and I are all going to Beverly Hills with Nell and her sister to help her find a wedding dress." Kensi tells him. Internally, Kensi is over the moon. The agent had never been a bridesmaid before, and she couldn't wait until she got to try on pretty dresses, and see Nell all dolled up in white, too.
"Nell's already shopping for wedding dresses? They only set a date yesterday." Callen points out.
"Your point?" Kensi says. "Guys, for future reference, when a woman gets engaged, the first thing she will want to do is buy a wedding dress." Kensi looks over at her partner while she says that, making the detective blush slightly.
Sam fakes a cough, hiding a sloppily disguised 'G' in between the 'coughing fit.'
Callen narrows his eyes at his partner. "She's already driving me crazy with the baby hormones and stuff, I'm not throwing wedding planning on top of that." He raises his hands in mock surrender.
Sam laughs. For once, G didn't say 'no marriage for me'.
"Speaking of the little Callen, do you guys know what you're having?" Nate asks.
"Do you know what you want to have?" Nell asks as she approaches the group.
"A healthy, happy little one that looks nothing like their father." G laughs.
"I bet it's gonna be a girl." Deeks says, a smile on his face. Deeks not-so-secretly loved children, which disturbed Kensi from time to time.
"Nah." Kensi counters, "I'd say it's gonna be a boy."
"Mara and Adam both had girls first. It's gonna be a girl." Nell says, looking at G.
"Okay. While you guys argue over whether our kid is going to be a boy or a girl, I'm going home. See ya." G says, picking up his bag and leaving the Mission.
"Care to make this interesting?" Deeks asks, rubbing his hands together with a mischievous glare in his eyes.
"How so?" Sam inquires, slightly intrigued.
"I propose a wager. Place your guesses, ladies and gents! Each person who guesses, puts, say, twenty bucks into the pool. When they find out, the people who guessed right will receive their money back, and extra from the losing players." Deeks explains.
Everyone considers for a moment, then Sam says; "I'm in. But if G finds out, he'll kill all of us."
The rest of the team places their guesses, and each of them hand in twenty bucks. Sam was assigned to be the guardian of the money, which totalled one hundred and twenty dollars. The guesses were half-and-half, with Deeks, Nell and Eric guessing girl and Kensi, Sam and Nate guessing boy. Then the team parted ways, with the money safely hidden in a box in Sam's locker.
AJ heard the door to her apartment open, signalling that she was no longer alone. The leaped up off the couch, her whole body tensing in a defensive position. Force of Habit.
When G rounded the corner, she smiled broadly, and greeted him with a kiss.
"Hello." G smiles in return.
"Hi." She sighs. "How was your day?"
"Ah, you know, the usual." He replied, kissing her on the forehead before releasing her to put his bag down on the floor. "Kensi wanted me to tell you that she'll pick you up tomorrow at three. That okay?"
"Perfect." She whispers. "Are you alright?" She asks, slightly concerned.
"Fine."He answers, almost too quickly. "Why?"
"You look like you've seen a ghost." She laughs.
He smiles. "I've been doing some thinking."
"That's never good." She says sarcastically, laughing.
He sighs, amazed by the sheer awesomeness of the woman in front of him. "I was thinking...that maybe we should move in together."
Her brows furrow, scaring G slightly. But then her mouth curls into a smile, her expression changing from confused to ecstatic in a nanosecond. "Yes!" She exclaims, throwing her arms around him. "Yes. I'll move in with you." She says, smashing her lips onto his.
"Good. That way you won't have to talk me into buying new furniture, we can just use yours." He laughs, putting his forehead to hers. "I love you."
"I love you, too."
He puts the key into the lock, turns it and enters his apartment. The psychologist is greeted by the smell of food, making him more hungry than he already is.
"Nate?" The woman in his kitchen asks. "That you?"
"Yeah, it's me." He answers, rounding the corner and facing the woman, clad in black jeans, and a green shirt.
"Chicken Curry. I thought you might be hungry when you got home." She tells him. "Plus, I was starving." She laughs.
"So am I. Thanks, Luce." He says, wrapping his arms around her, and placing a kiss on her nose.
He had no idea how it had happened. One minute, he was dropping her off at her apartment, the day before she left for a conference in DC, and the next they were, well...
The next time he saw her was at the hospital after AJ got shot. They hadn't had time to address what they were, but all Nate knew was that she was here now, cooking him dinner, and looking damn good while doing it.
Lucy hadn't told her sister about us, she was waiting for 'the right time'. But, right now, I think she's a little preoccupied with being Nell's bridesmaid and her little niece or nephew that's on their way.
We ate while talking about our days at work. Lucy had done paperwork all day, due to the fact that there were no hostage situations to diffuse. Nate told her about the pool they had going about the gender of AJ and Callen's baby. He had expected her to say that it was a terrible idea, but instead gave him twenty bucks, saying, "It's gonna be a girl," with a broad smile.
"Deeks! Stop!" Kensi yelled, laughing.
"I'll stop when admit that you're wrong." He replies, getting great amusement from the squirming agent beneath him.
"I am not wrong!" She laughs hysterically. "You are!"
"Come on, Kens. Swanfire is endgame." He laughs, still tickling her.
"Nuh-uh." She scolds. "Captain Swan all the way! Oh my God Deeks, stop!"
"Fine, but only is you reward me." He says, pulling his hands away from her sides, watching the breathless woman beneath him.
"How so?" She asks, her chest still heaving.
"You know how." He says, moving his face so that their noses are almost touching.
Kensi's eyes darken in anticipation. She smiles before putting her lips on his.
When she pulls away, she says, laughing. "I'm still right."
"Keep telling yourself that, Fern." He replies, pulling her in for another kiss.
The new episode of Once Upon A Time is all but forgotten to them.
"So..." Nell says, approaching her fiancé. "...have you decided who's going to be your best man yet?"
"Nope." He replies simply. "Nell, we're getting married in five and a half months. That's plenty of time to plan everything. Let's just enjoy our engagement for a little while, shall we?"
She nods in acceptance. Maybe she was going overboard on the wedding planning. Since getting engaged seven weeks ago, Nell had; booked a venue on the beach, secured their date, made an appointment with a wedding boutique, knew what kind of decor she wanted for both the venue and the reception, had an idea about what dresses she wanted for the bridesmaids, and had started hand-writing the invitations. It was giving her a headache, thinking of the planning and all the rest of the details she had to think of. So, Nell made the decision to not think about the wedding until tomorrow.
Her sister was in town from New York, where Robyn lived. She was an Economics major at Colombia, in the process of getting her PhD. Robyn was in the guest room, sleeping soundly after her long flight.
"You're right. I should just forget about it for the night." She tells Eric as they climb into their bed. He pulls her into his arms, kissing her head.
"Just relax, Rockstar. Get some sleep." He sighs, closing his eyes as Nell shuts off the light.
Hope you liked it! I know, I just couldn't help putting a bit of OUAT in the fic. I keep picturing Kensi and Deeks as two people who just geek out over TV. Reviews make me feel all happy :3 and don't forget to vote for names and gender of the mini-Callen! [Exit, pursued by a bear.]
