The fuzzy little picture of his child, beamed back at him, as he held Mary's hand in the little hospital room in Lawrence.
"Would you like to hear the heartbeat?" The nurse asked as she looked between our faces. As if we wouldn't want to hear it.
"More than anything" Mary breathed out excitedly.
Soon the lights were dimmed low, and the room filled with a cacophony of thump bump thump bump.
