A Courting We Will Go!

June had turned to July and the English Sun was beating down on the residents of 12 Grimmuald Place. On the morning of the July 1st, Harry, Hermione, Remus, the Tonks' and the Weasleys apparated to the ministry, where they were greeted warmly by Kingsley Shacklebolt, Alastor Moody and Amelia Bones, who came up to her godson and hugged him, propriety be damned.

"Harry my dear fellow" chuckled Moody. "Looks like Auntie Amy is pleased to see you". Amelia just glared and Harry shot a hex, hitting Alastor dead on.

"Where's your 'Constant Vigilance' now, Alastor?" giggled Amelia, laughing at Harry's speed.

"Oh very well, I concede" grumbled the old Auror, making everyone laugh.

"Harry?" said a tentative voice. Said Lord turned and saw his fellow DA member, Susan, his other god-sister. Their eyes connected, emerald to aquamarine blue.

He saw himself once more as a young boy, with Tracey, Daphne, Hermione, Neville, a younger looking Tonks and another girl. It was Susan. All children were under the enchanted eyes of their elders.

As the flashback ended, Susan ran into Harry's embrace and hugged him. She started sniffling, so Harry conjured a yellow handkerchief.

"Ah, Suzy" he whispered, "not you as well" he sighed, dabbing her eyes. "Sssh, it's alright, I'm here".

"Harry, I'm so sorry" began Susan, but was stopped.

"Hey, don't worry about it" Harry soothed, allowing Susan to sink into his embrace. They were interrupted by a yell.

"HEY! PAWS OFF MY MAN!" Harry raised his voice to find Daphne tapping her foot, arms folded and faux-glaring at him.

"Daphne!" chided her mother. "Give him a chance to comfort his God-sister!" Fred, George, Hermione, Tonks and Rupert and Astoria laughed (they had just arrived). Andromeda, Remus, Arthur, Bill, Charlie, Percy and Amelia just chuckled.

"I certainly have quite the effect on the Ladies, don't I?" said Harry.

"Ah, young Harry" smiled Tonks, "You make a nice teddy bear or handkerchief". Susan kissed his cheek and allowed Daphne to come into Harry's embrace. The two lovers kissed, causing wolf whistles from some of the gathered.

"Oh, grow up!" groaned Harry.

"Ah, Harry-kins" smiled Fred.

"Where's the fun in that?" ended George. Harry just glared.

"Shall I tell the others what you and Fred get up to with Angelina and Alicia in the changing rooms, then?" grinned Harry. Both twins shut up, both going red. Astoria bounded up.

"What did happen?" she innocently asked. Harry chuckled.

"I'll tell you when you are older" he replied, making her groan in annoyance. Marie and Rupert chuckled at their daughter's face. Blaize and Neville arrived with Lady Zabini and Lady Longbottom. Lady Zabini had a reputation before her, but to her close friends, she was just Sophia, a lady of wisdom and bad luck when it came to men, much to her son's chagrin. After a while, Harry felt another weight in his arms.

"Ooof…what the…?" he looked down and grinned. "Hi, Tracey" he said, chuckling.

"Hi, Harry" replied Tracey, squeezing the life out of Harry.

"Hey, save some for the rest of us, Tracey!" laughed Ellie as she came into view and hugged her nephew. Tim wasn't far behind and placed his hand on Harry's shoulder.

"Ready for this Harry?" he asked.

"As I'll ever be" replied his nephew. Tim just smiled and patted Harry's shoulder in comfort.

In the ante-chamber, Harry was clad in his gold robe and pacing nervously, thinking of the last time he was there for the farce of the trial last year. Neville and Daphne were trying to calm him down. Neville suggested that Harry summon his patronus, and so he did, with a cry of 'Expecto Patronum', the familiar sight of 'Prongs' appeared, prancing about and trotting up to Daphne and nuzzled her, making her giggle. Neville looked on cheerfully and Harry seemed to cheer up. Percy poked his head in and saw the patronus. His eyes widened.

"Remarkable!" he gasped, but regained composure. "It's time, my lords and lady". Harry gulped and Daphne held his hand in comfort.

"Gryffindors charge forward, eh Harry?" she soothed. Harry smiled.

"Aye" he said and followed his girlfriend and Neville out of the chamber.

Meanwhile in the courtroom, Cornelius Fudge was preparing to start the meeting. With two bangs of his gavel, he got everyone's attention.

"I, Cornelius Oswald Fudge, call is meeting to order, on this, the First Day of July in the Year of Our Lord Nineteen Hundred and Ninety Six. Minister for Magic Cornelius Oswald Fudge in the Chair, Chief Witch Lady August Alice Longbottom, Vice-Chair and Percival Ignatius Weasley as Court Scribe. Any business to bring to our attention, Master Scribe?" Percy stood.

"Only one, Minister" he said. "We have a new Lord to install in his rightful place".

"Of whom do you speak?" asked the Minister, knowingly. Susan rose from her position.

"It is Harry James, Lord of the Most Ancient and Noble Houses of Potter, Peverell, Black, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin, and he is present".

"Let him come forth!" came the reply from the minister. The doors to the main chamber flung open and in strode Harry, with Neville and Daphne either side of him. Harry let his eyes wander across the room. Many people were there. His eyes rested on the table above the minister's stall-the Council of Seven. Harry saw Blaize giving him a discreet thumbs up at him and Tracey and Susan smiled gracefully, making Harry feel more confident. He approached the bench and addressed the minister.

"Minister Fudge, I, Harry James, Lord Potter-Peverell-Black-Gryffindor-Hufflepuff-Ravenclaw-Slytherin, request admittance to this house and council" said the young Lord.

"I, Corneilius Oswald, do welcome you to this House and Council" replied a smiling minister. "May we benefit from your advice and wisdom. So mote it be".

"So mote it be!" cried the chamber as they applauded the restored Lord. Percy led Harry to his stall as head of the Council of Seven. Daphne grinned and kissed Harry. Harry smiled. Harry stood and spoke.

"Minister, Madame Chief Witch, my Lords and Ladies and honourable wizards and witches. I stand before you today as a newly restored Lord. The Most Ancient and Noble House of Potter and indeed all of my houses have been reborn, as a phoenix from fire, however, they have been defiled and dishonoured by parties to be discussed at our next meeting. My rights have withheld, my magic, blocked and my family and love hidden from me. On this day, I swear to you, I will restore my houses to honour and bring justice to all people, peace to people and magical creatures and the userper Lord Voldemort, known as Tom Marvolo Riddle, will be destroyed. So mote it be!" With that, everyone stood and applauded.

The rest of the meeting went swiftly and Harry participated in many debates, earning him respect from a majority of the Wizengamot. When it was over, Harry was exhausted. He sat down heavily on a sofa in his rooms at the ministry.

"Well, thank Merlin that's over" he muttered in relief.

"At least it was better than the last shambolic time you were here" said Blaize. Harry just glared.

"Thanks for the memory" groaned Harry. Susan and Tracey glared at the Slytherin, who shrank under their gaze. Neville shook his head. Daphne grabbed Harry and hugged him.

"You were brilliant, Harry" she cooed. Harry chuckled.

"Well, I was instructed by the best" grinned the young Lord, sneaking a kiss with her.

"Gran will be impressed with that analysis" smiled Neville. Tracey hugged Harry.

"Dad was impressed, you know" she said. "I sure Aunt Lily would be proud if she saw today. The way you commanded the Wizengamot was masterly". Harry smiled, thinking about his mother, until he was broken out of his stupor.

"What about Uncle James, Tracey?" smirked Daphne.

"Poor Uncle Jimmy, all but forgotten" added Susan dramatically, wiping a faux tear from her eyes. Tracey just stuck out her tongue childishly. Neville and Blaize burst out in peals of laughter, making Tracey glare at them.

"Well, I like that! I've a good mind…" she ranted, but stopped when Harry put a finger to her lips.

"Shh, Trace, I know Dad would be proud" he said gently, eyes pooling in sorrow. "But still, you have to love these guys, really". Tracey rolled her eyes at the other four young Lords and Ladies.

"I suppose so" she sighed. Harry smiled and put his arm around her, with Daphne falling in on Harry's other side.

"Time to face the world" she said. Harry nodded and led his entourage to the others.

When they got to the aitrium of the Ministry, Harry was greeted by the Weasley twins.

"Ladies and…"

"Gentlemen.."

"here"

"he"

"is"

"LORD HARRY POTTER!" they announced, grinning as their friend came out to meet them.

"HARRY!" yelled the ladies present, rushing to him.

"INCOMING!" cried Susan, as Harry was knocked over with an "Oof!", falling under the force of Astoria, Hermione and Tonks. The others laughed.

"Ever the popular, aren't we, harry?" laughed Bill.

"That's my nephew!" laughed Tim, Andromeda and Ellie.

"Ladies" choked Harry, turning blue. "C-can't breathe, you know!" When they released him, Tonks helped him up. "Thank you!" he breathed.

"You were brilliant, Harry" she said, hugging him, before rushing of for guard duty at the cells.

"The Minister was most impressed with you!" remarked Percy.

"As was I" smiled Amelia holding her godson. "Every inch the Lord."

"Next, you've got the OWL tests" smiled Daphne, but Harry's face fell.

"Then, the trials" he said sombrely.

Meanwhile, an old man was sat in a prison cell, singing to himself.

"To sit in solemn silence in a dull dark dock,

In a pestilential prison with a life-long lock

Awaiting the sensation of a short, sharp shock

From a cheap and chippy chopper on a big, black block".

If anyone had heard this voice singing, they would have said the Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, a disgraced man, was as mad as a hatter. And they'd be quite correct. A certain metamorphmagus, raised by a pureblood and a muggle-born, knew what was being sung and she'd tell her cousin about it.

"Oh boy, he's cracked up" she muttered. "Big time..."
