Summary: Just a short, reflective poem from Maedhros' POV. Inspired by the incredible credit song "I See Fire" from the "Desolation of Smaug" movie. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own the song "I See Fire" or anything pertaining to the mighty Tolkien estate.

Author's Note: I know the song was meant to apply to the Dwarves, which it does perfectly. But the idea fits so well with much from the Elder Days too, and so this quick little piece was born. Poor Maedhros doesn't have the best history with fire, either. Enjoy!

I have seen the Fire of Dragons,

Heard the crackle of Balrogs' whips.

I've seen the Fire of Angband's dungeons,

Wept at Fire on the ships.

I've seen Fire consume my Father,

Envelop my dearest Friend.

I've watched Flames ravage the Plains,

Burning without end.

I've felt the Fire of a new Sun,

All while remembering Torches in the night.

I have sought the deepest Fires of the Earth,

And given them my Light.
