Zombies, also known as, Undead, Living Dead, and such.

Those who have been infected with, and succumbed to the Virus known as Solanum.

Normal infection process takes 24 hours from Initial infection to re-animation, though this greatly varies based on the victims health, fitness level, and resistance to disease. A child would turn far faster than a professional football player, for example.

Zombies have no need for oxygen, considering their internal organs (heart, lungs, etc.) are dead. This means they can survive indefinitely underwater, or at high altitudes where all but the most conditioned humans would suffocate.

Zombies blood is not red and flowing like humans, unless the zombie has been reanimated for less than a day. After that point, the zombies blood will be quite thick, and almost black. It'll have the consistency of Jello....very thick jello.

Zombies can only be killed, or re-killed if you prefer, by destroying the brain.
