If I was you, I'd post the link in an announcement as like a story. You're WAY more likely to get a lot more hits and responses then putting it in a forum no one really reads. Just make the summery say 'I'm from Texas Tech and I'm doing a survey on fan fiction.' B/c I know at least in the SVU fandom, the forums aren't that popular.
