Valhallan Rose Home to Hades and souls that have passed on - guarded by the three headed dog, Cerberus. And no, he doesn't want to fetch the stick. 12/15/2016 #1 |
A Composer of Dreams Ale stood at the entrance of his realm, smiling to himself as the ground shook beneath his feet as the loud panting of a gigantic three headed dog came into view. The souls and spirtest of men and beast rushed out of the dog's way, most of them quite cheerful as they cheered the dog onward. He was as much their protector as Ale was in the end, and the gigantic guard dog loved all the attention he gained from those who had passed on. The Defender of Man felt a rare smile spread across his face as Cerberus came bounding along, carrying a pillar of stone between the teeth of his three heads. The dog skidded to a stop just inches away from the god and dropped the pillar onto the god's raised hand. "Good boy Cerberus!" he said cheerfully as the dog gave the god three large slobbery licks. The God of The Underworld laughing as he dropped the pillar behind him. "Akright alright, I love you too boy," he chuckled, gently pushing the dog's heads away. "Want to go again?" The dog's tailed wagged estatically as he took a several bounds back in expectation. Causeing Ale to laugh again as he lifted up the pillar once more. "Alright then, get the stick boy!" Ale shouted as he threw the pillar far into the distance. The guardian of the Underworld bounding off at lighting speed at the pillar that more often than not hit a moutain range on the far off mainland. Ale smiled to himself... it was good to take a break with his favorite servant, well... pet to be more accurately, but even he had to keep up at least some appearances in his own realm. 12/15/2016 #2 |
Valhallan Rose Lena, oblivious to the happenings of this particular island, stepped out of the portal in her muddy chiton and barefoot glory and waved to the Goddess of the Rainbow on the other wise before it disappeared. The warm surf licked at her ankles for a moment as she head off down the shore, towards the forest where she hoped she could find what she needed. Her mother, gods love her, found out about her recent adventure to the mortal marketplace to pick up supplies for her remedies and was quite obviously livid. So, she had to find a new source, since there honestly wasn't a place her mother didn't have eyes on now that she could go to. Yeah...she wasn't exactly the most obedient child of the bunch. 12/15/2016 #3 |
A Composer of Dreams As Lena stood by the shore, she'd notice the water quickly receding back about a quarter of a mile. Leaving bare all sorts of tidal pools, rocks, and water plants that were suddenly exposed. Oddly no fish seemed to be caught in this sudden retreat of the sea however. 12/15/2016 #4 |
Valhallan Rose Lena paused to examine one of the tide pools, the retreat of the waves taking with them the petals of the asphodel that always grew behind her. She knelt down and sifted through some of the sand with her fingertips in hopes of finding maybe a creature that buried itself in when the water retreated... But no such luck, and a frown tugged at her lips as she stood and looked around some of the other pools. How peculiar...where was all the life here? 12/15/2016 #5 |
A Composer of Dreams Before she could start figuring out an answer, she'd hear the lound panting and splashing of some giant creature. Who quickly made it to shore and darted off towards the mountain range several hundred miles behind her. The water rushing in not far behind him... with all the fish that had known ahead of time that perhaps they should move elsewhere... 12/15/2016 #6 |
Valhallan Rose Lena let out a soft squeak as the spray from the creature dampened her dress, but she didn't mind. It felt nice under the heat of the sun. Curiosity got the better of her and she shifted into her doe form heading in the direction whatever creature that was came from. Who know, perhaps there'd be something there that was far more interesting than supplies would ever be. 12/15/2016 #7 |
A Composer of Dreams The beast way ahead of her this point was a small black spec of a dot on a mountin some 100 miles away. The beast seemed to be searching for something, something it thought was very important. 12/15/2016 #8 |
Valhallan Rose Lena lowered her delicate nose to the ground and sniffed - while deer didn't have the greatest tracking abilities, she could make it work. So she kept going, walking next to the deep paw prints headed in the opposite direction that she was walking in. 12/15/2016 #9 |
A Composer of Dreams She'd feel again the ground shake as the beast bounded back to the sea, following his own tracks back to the shore. She'd see a giant three headed dog with a night black coat except for the one large white patch on his chest. The dog looked down at the deer as he ran, skidding to a stop and kicking up a storm of dust so that he didn't run into the deer. It might make a good snack after all. 12/15/2016 #10 |
Valhallan Rose Lena shook herself out after the dog passed, dirt flying from her coat. Dhe was mostly trying to get her head around the fact that the dog had three heads, not one. 12/16/2016 #11 |
A Composer of Dreams Cerebus, or Spot as he was lovingly called by his Master, was about to set the pillar held up by his three mouths so that he could tear the little doe into tasty little bits. To then be shared equally between his three heads, they had a tendencey to get jelouse if one head was treated more than the other, which made things extreamly awkward the next day when they'd start fighting each other. But anyway... back to the moment, Cerberus was about to have himself a snack when his nostrils sented something familiar about the doe. Something at least... sort of similar to his Master, though more like those who occasionally visted him that shown brightly. He leaned down, the titantic beast being the size of the grand coliseums mortals would occasionally build for their own entertainment, and peered at the doe. As if he were asking, sweetly, to know her secrets. 12/17/2016 #12 |
Valhallan Rose Lena hesitated a moment before she shifted back, red curls loose and billowing in the gentle breeze. She lifted her hands as if to indicate she meant no harm, sliding her knife out of her chiton's belt and dropping it beside her. Hoping the beast wouldn't take it as a sign of aggression, she carefully nudged the dagger away with a bare foot before she smiled up at the three heads. He was...cute, in a way. She extended a hand, not sure which head to approach and leaving it up to the beast to decide that. "Hello, handsome." She murmured, green eyes bright and curious. 12/17/2016 #13 |
A Composer of Dreams The three giant heads took a great big sniff of her hand, as in big enough that a mortal would of been sucked into one of the dog's noses. Which would have ended badly for everyone involved. The sent of the now woman was... plesant. Much better than the smells of death and the occasional rotting corspe. Perhaps his Master would like her? He then gave the woman a curious looks... as he pondered on how to bring this plesant smelling person home with him. 12/17/2016 #14 |
Valhallan Rose Lena reached forward and gently stroked the nose of the head in the center, oblivious to the thoughts of the beast as she moved to pet each head for at least a few moments. Where he came from, she had no clue, but she was quite fascinated by him. 12/17/2016 #15 |
A Composer of Dreams Spot panted heavily, his tail wagging happily behind him as the plesant smelling woman petted each of his heads. He stood up quickly and gave her what looked like a dopey grin, before he took her carefully by his teeth, and threw her onto his back. Darting back off home, pillar left behind as it was now forgotten. 12/17/2016 #16 |
Valhallan Rose The redhead let out a nearly inhuman screech before she buried her face in the beast's fur - clutching it in white knuckled fists as she just prayed to whatever God was listening that she wouldn't meet an untimely demise that day. 12/17/2016 #17 |
A Composer of Dreams The giant dog darted back home as fast as he could, making a mightly leap once he reached the shore that took them both high enough that they peeked through the clouds before they dived back into the cold ocean water. When they surfaced, the two side heads looked back, just to make sure their gift for master was sitll there. 12/17/2016 #18 |
Valhallan Rose And she was, though the cold water had definitely startled her. She still clung to the beast with her chiton and hair clinging to her body, and she noted somewhere in her mind that the ocean water had gotten the mud off of her much easier than she could have by scrubbing at it. 12/17/2016 #19 |
A Composer of Dreams The two heads gave her a dopey grin as they started paddling to the island that was now in the distance. The waters ahead looked stormy however, and seas soon began to swell large enough that water lapped up and almost over his back. The dog however just happily chugged along his way home with his gift. 12/17/2016 #20 |
Valhallan Rose Lena couldn't help but smile back at the beast as he swam, comforted just by how peaceful he seemed. Though...she was worried about where he was taking her...for all she knew he still planned on eating her. 12/17/2016 #21 |
A Composer of Dreams (*laughs* I'm not even sure he could eat her.) Such thoughts were far from the dog's minds as they made it to the shore. The siprits and souls of the dead looking up, giving the dog a curious look as he didn't have his usual pillar. One of them noticed the goddess clinging to his back. He waved up at her, wondering if it was one of the Gods cause he couldn't imagine a mortal surviving the trip... Oh well... In the distance the dog's hears perked up as he heard his Master call, his voice loud, clear, and over all cheerful. "Spooooooot! Get back over here you dopey dog!" 12/17/2016 #22 |
Valhallan Rose (She's not sure either. *grins*) Lena sat up then, her wet hair still clinging to her body as she peered around. Where...where was she? To the mortal souls around her, there would be a gentle scent of vanilla that filled the air as she passed with Cerberus (unbeknownst to her) and a gentle scattering of asphodel petals left in their wake. It wasn't always something she could control, but the mortals of Greece had begun to label it as her mark whenever she visited with her mother during harvest season. 12/17/2016 . A Composer of Dreams The souls bellow her gasped as the grass behind her turned green with life, the clouds seeming to part as she was carried farther into the island. The souls of countless men and women wading into the growing grass and bright sunlight, for some it was the first time they had felt the sun in hundreds of years. And soon a whole mob of people were just... laying out on the grass behind her, taking in the sent of vanilla and asphodel. 12/17/2016 #24 |
Valhallan Rose Her cheeks flushed a soft gold, unlike the pink of mortals due to the lack of blood. Instead, it was golden ichor, but just as essential as the rest of mortal kind's lifeblood. She glanced left, then right - as if looking for someone watching her - before she held her hand out with her palm up. She twirled her wrist, bringing forth a series of flowers from foreign lands bound into a bouquet. She turned on Cerberus's back and, with a shy smile, tossed the flowers out toward the would below - the bouquet bursting into a shower of petals as it came within reach of their hands. If she was where she thought she was...she didn't mind showing off a little. She wanted to give these souls a pleasant little gift to remember while they spent eternity here. 12/17/2016 #25 |
A Composer of Dreams Laughter could be heard, as well as a welcoming shout of joy as the flowers burst into sent filled petals. The dog continuing to happily bound to the voice that was heard earlier as they slowly came to the mountain in the center of the isle. The dog pausing as he stopped at the edge of a river that stood in their way. He looked down, then back at his charge, and promtly sat. He knew of the river, and the river knew him. But it did not know this woman he felt, so it would likely not accept her casual crossing. 12/17/2016 #26 |
Valhallan Rose Lena frowned and leaned over, hoping at least one of the heads would understand her. "Should I wait here?" She asked, her voice soft as she looked down to the water below. She had an odd feeling about it...and she wasn't sure she liked it. 12/17/2016 #27 |
A Composer of Dreams The dog just waited, paitently as a figrure slowly walked towards them, about man highth...clothed in blakc armor as he strode to the river's edge. He was pale, paler than the souls of the dead below. His hair was a silvery gray, and his eyes like deep pools of liquid silver. He was lean and felt... old. Older than the dirt he stood upon. His face quizzical and confused, he had not felt the presence of a God entering his realm, much less one that could bring such life to his island. "Show yourself, Lord of Olympus, and make yourself known to me!" he called out across the river, just out of reach of the light of day. The gathering of souls behind the massive beast hushing at once, as they gathed by the river's edge and bowed toward the figure. 12/17/2016 #28 |
Valhallan Rose Lena hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should show herself to the figure she did not recognize. But she gave the beast a soft pat and slid down from his back, feeling the cool brush of the grass beneath her bare feet before she stepped towards the edge of the light. She squared her shoulders as her drying hair fell over her shoulders, her still damp chiton clinging to her petite frame as she called out across the river. "I did not mean to intrude." She said, tucking a stray curl behind her ear as she stepped a bit closer to the river. "This one brought me here from the shores of the mainland." Lena gestured up to the creature beside her, then gave his leg a brief scratch before she turned back to the man across the river. 12/17/2016 #29 |
A Composer of Dreams The light moved forward as she stepped closer to the river. The man beyond hissing in pain as it burned his skin, forcing him to take as step back. He shook his head and sighed. "First time for everything I suppose," he mumbled to himself before he let out a sharp whistle, the dog Cerbures wading across the river to his Master's side. "I apoligize for Cerbures stealing you away then God of Olympus. I am Ale, Lord of The Underworld, to whom am I speaking to?" he asked from across the river, his voice calm and collected. 12/17/2016 #30 |
