![]() ![]() Hei looked at the door and raised an eyebrow, "Ange...you're good at math. How the hell do we make 3 out of 6 numbers? 'cuz I just authenticated my number as a sorta symbolic gesture" Ange shook her head, "This...this is why I don't trust you with anything number related." she smoothed her hair back out of stress, "we need to make a number that makes up the digital root of 3. The only way I could imagine us doing that with 6 numbers is the number 123,456. You take the digital root of that number and you get..." Hei looked at her with a blank expression and then smiled, "I need scrap paper. I wasn't expecting to take a quiz." "3" Aki said out loud, "it equals 21 but 2 plus 1 is 3" Ange nodded, she looked toward Hei, "dumb ass..." Hei shook his head, "oh you're so mean, I'm hurt" he said sarcastically while rolling his eyes. Rin understood though she was kinda estranged at the two of them, were they friends? They kind of acted like siblings but they didn't look at all related. "I'll...I'll put my number in." she walked up and scanned her number. Though she had to admit seeing them like that took her mind off the situation for a bit. Was that intentional or were they so comfortable in desperate situations that they could joke around like that? She turned to Izo and asked, "um...Izo-san, you think you could scan your number too?" she wasn't exactly ready to go to the other side but she didn't want to be a burden. 1/9/2021 #61 |
![]() ![]() ".......Uhh....If that will help. Im not too good with math either." Izo explained, not very ashamed of that fact "Still are we sure we're ready to make it to the....Dead on the other side?" 1/10/2021 #62 |
![]() ![]() Hei nodded, "Considering we need all six of us in there, I think at least one of us will be able to spot it." he walked grabbed the lever and pulled it down. The display on the RED read "OPEN" and the steel door slid open crisply with a quite the scene in front of it. The remains of Eita lay slightly in front of the door, resting on the wall to the right. Just above him was a black painted scanner that could comfortably be Identified as the DEAD. The scene was grisly, blood lay splattered everywhere from the walls to even the ceiling all surrounding a strange burn mark surrounding the area. At the center of the burn mark was the actually body. The entire lower half of the body along with the his left arm were completely destroyed. The only thing that was really all that recognizable was the burnt clothes and the face. His face was twisted in terror as if something had terrified him greatly just before the explosion or perhaps the explosion itself. The smell of copper and ash in the air, and it seems steam was still coming off of his body. Aki hesitated at first, he looked down at the watch and saw no change as soon as he stepped through the threshold though the watch face lit up with a new pink skull icon and a monotonous beep *Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep* Every second he stood there staring at Eita's body a second ran down the clock. Aki began to think this sudden shock, this feeling like he was in imminent danger, as if Monokuma was holding a gun to his head. This is what Eita felt when he threw himself through the door. But why? The Blonde Woman from before appeared and said "Oh nooo! he's deeaaad!" she gestured dramatically as if she were on a soap opera, "the reason he's dead because having a being of near limitless power and knowledge resting inside of a mind of a mortal human is a terrible idea...ooor...he was an idiot. Could be either or." She shook her head at the body before turning back to Aki, "you'll end up the same way if you decide to turn stupid and pull the same thing. I'm not here to hurt you, I'm only here to watch" Aki argued that was just as bad, in fact worse that she actively seems to take pleasure in watching them suffer, did human life really mean nothing to her. "Yeah I don't give two shits about the life of mortals. I could easily save you from this situation but why would I? at great cost to myself since I'd have to deal with crazy anti-witch girl. Even being mortal for as long as I did, did nothing to sway my opinion. Now unless you want to die, scan your watch on the DEAD" 1/12/2021 #63 |
![]() ![]() The minute she saw Eita's remains, Yume's visual of the room suddenly turned into the ghastly appearance of the Red Queen's throne room, intestines everywhere and everything red. Green eyes widened when she started seeing these images and she gripped her head. 'No... no... not the throne room again.... Don't put me in there again!' The sight of the Red Queen and her unsavory tentacles loomed over the black haired girl as she fell to her knees and started breathing heavily. With a menacing sneer, the Red Queen hissed out as she dragged a finger across her neck. "Off with her head..." 1/12/2021 #64 |
![]() ![]() The moment his eyes landed on those remains. It felt like a fist punched him directly in his eyes. It both hurt like hell and disorienting. THe world spun and blurred before his eyes, his higher brain function was turned off like a switch. Only one directive remained however, and that was to find the Dead and save everyone that remained. So like a limping zombie his body lurched forward. Eyes glazed over and hands raised to search. 1/12/2021 #65 |
![]() ![]() Aki touched the DEAD and turned around to everyone, "The DEAD is here!" he pointed to it just above Eita's remains. Ange touched the DEAD and saw the LCD change to "**____" she turned to the group, "Hurry I don't know how much time we have!" she looked down on her watch, it displayed a pink skull on the face and was beeping. The constant threat to her life, the state of Eita's body brought her back to when two witches used her as pawn in their sadistic games. Watching her family die in terrible ways, the witch cackling like a mad woman and of course remembering her actual death. At that moment Ange began to glitch as if her body wasn't real, "ugh..." She teetered side-to-side for a moment as memories of worse times came to the surface. The blonde girl in the pink dress revealing the truth, when she jumped off that building. Hei touched the DEAD next and authenticated his watch, "huh...Ange? h-hey..." he's never seen her do that before, he pushed her slightly away from Eita's body, "take a breather okay?" he gulped before turned toward Eita and crouching down. Hei had seen bodies before, considering he used to hunt demons not running into murder was only a matter of when his Boss would let him. It felt cold, but to Hei, Eita was just another body of someone he was too slow to save. Hei brought his hand up to Eita's eyes and closed them, "Sorry kid..." Rin brought up the rear and touched Yume's shoulder with trepidation, unsure what was happening, "Y-you okay? Yume-san." Though the beeping from her watch reminded her what was really happening to her. The fear was starting to grip her heart as she realized that every moment her neck was over the proverbial sword of Damocles. 1/13/2021 #66 |
![]() ![]() "D..e..a..d..?" Izo responded raspy as if his throat had already dried in his near zombified state that was slowly dissipating. Without another word needed, he followed the sound of Aki's voice to the monitor where he felt around, and managed to place his watch upon it. With his deed done, his body slumped forward against the wall. 1/13/2021 #67 |
![]() ![]() Yume's vision returned to that of the room and she turned to see Rin's worried gaze before shifting her own to the DEAD. "It's... nothing," she said, regaining her calm expression. "Just had an unwanted memory return is all..." She left it at that as she got up from her kneeling position to quickly head to the scanner and have her own watch scanned. 1/13/2021 #68 |
![]() ![]() The Door closed behind the party trapping them within. Rin stood next to Yume and scanned her watch afterward, "Hei-san, you think you could pull the lever?" Hei was half expecting Ange to yell at him, something like pull the damn thing already, but she seemed preoccupied with whatever goes on in her mind. "I'm gonna pull it..." he pulled the lever once he was sure everyone had scanned in. The LCD on the DEAD changed and displayed, "PASS" and in that exact moment the beeping on the watches stopped and the pink skull disappeared. Aki let out a sigh of relief as he checked the watch and it seemed the countdown had stopped, "haaah..." it was almost like the stress had melted off him for a moment before piling back on for what lies beyond. The blonde woman chuckled, "look at you, you're strangely comfortable around a dead guy missing his lower half and his guts all over. That was only the first one. Some of these aren't so easy to find. I'd be wary." Aki froze as he realized the blonde woman was kind of right, he was strangely okay with a corpse being nearby, he wanted to chock it up to the Witch's influence. He turned to look at everyone's reactions. Ange heard the beeping stop and nodded she looked dizzy while her mind tried to satisfy the paradox that was her life. "I'm...going on ahead." she needed to focus on one particular version of events, the ones she created for herself to stop this thing from happening. She was walking as if she was experiencing vertigo which to say it was like she could barely hold herself up and not in a straight line. The Blonde woman stared at Ange, "is that a weakness? is she so adamant about maintaining her physical body that she's forcing it to exist. I wonder...Find out more about the Witch and her Outsider friend." Rin relaxed, only slightly, now that the threat of explosion was gone. But when she got a good look at Eita now that Hei wasn't blocking the way too much she almost hurled, "ugh...mmm..." she turned away but all she did was dry heave because nothing was in her stomach to eject, "...poor Eita." 1/13/2021 #69 |
![]() ![]() Yume looked back at Eita, but instead of seeing the throne room of the Red Queen, she only saw him. All they could do now was move forward, if not for themselves, then they will do it for Eita. She rubbed Rin's back as the girl heaved. "Let's keep going," she said softly. 1/13/2021 #70 |
![]() ![]() Rin nodded, "y-yeah..." she followed behind Yume. Ange opened the door on the further down the hallway and on the other side was a strange thing for what she assumed was a mental hospital. It was some kind of rec room? Inside the room was a really nice looking carpet with a chevron pattern, several card tables dotting the rather large room. There was also a large central black jack table with a star in the middle of it. Far to the right and across the room when walking in, was a bar with a strange looking machine, on the shelves were various types of drinks but it was hard to tell from this distance if they were alcoholic or not. There was a small stairwell that led to a small second floor that looked to be some kind of sitting area. Quite luxurious really. Hei walked in and looked around, "whew...not bad, a little gaudy in some places." he eyed Rin as he wanted to ask her some questions. Aki approached the door and saw what lies beyond, "what are we supposed to do now?" The blonde woman appeared leaning against the door, "This is an escape room...so you know ESCAPE. Watch out though, these rooms aren't entirely safe. They put a few death traps in here to give you the sense of danger that was so super important to them." Aki was starting to wonder who was this 'they' and 'them', if she was the one doing this or some kind of ghost version of her that isn't the one talking to him...ow...this is starting to hurt his head. "don't think too hard on useless information, just wrap your brain around these puzzles because they aren't going to just explain themselves to you." Ange shrugged, "look around and find a way out...I'll check around. Pick somewhere and let someone know if you find something" she wobbled over to the various card tables, some of which were actually roulette wheels and took a seat to take a breath before she started looking around. Aki walked over to the blackjack table in the center. Hei sighed, "alright gang, let's split up and look for clues" he walked over to the bar and stood behind, looking at him and the way he dressed it was as if he belonged behind a bar, he started looking around, stealing glances at both Ange and Rin and shaking his head. He then looked toward Izo, "Hey Izo-san, come here man. You look like you need a little sit down." despite his own feelings he had to put on this strong face, much like he always did. Being behind the bar meant you had to hold yourself a certain way, people come not just for the service and the drinks but the personality behind the table. 1/26/2021 #71 |
![]() ![]() Yume looked around the room, at least to see if there were any signs of a trap. She went into the Red Queen's castle before, but this wasn't Wonderland. This was the real world. Not her safe haven dream. Green eyes blinked when she could've sworn that she saw something in the corner. Was it real or her imagination? "Curiouser and curiouser...," she mumbled before going over slowly. In her eyes, was a white rabbit. But it was only seen by her, while it was invisible to rest of the group in the room. Now that she thought about it, since this place seemed like a casino, were there any cards? Her eyes blinked and the white rabbit was no longer there, but was replaced with a card. A queen of hearts to be exact. The girl slowly picked the card up and it seemed to give an eerie glow when she held it in her hand. 'I wonder... can anyone else see this glow...? Or is the glow for my eyes only....?' 1/26/2021 #72 |
![]() ![]() No one else seemed to see the glowing card in Yume's hand. However, upon touching it something appeared in her vision. It was a girl, with a bunch of featureless shadows beside her, she has silver hair. "I wonder what this card is for...cards are one thing, but it's strange to see a casino in a hospital. I guess the hospitals gotta make money?" The visage of the girl said before disappearing along with the rest of the featureless shadows. Upon turning around there was something on a nearby table, it was some kind of small key though it didn't look like it was for a door. The key was small with two circular holes drilled into it's head and a very short shaft. It was reminiscent of a music box key. Ange took a moment to collect herself, she didn't want to Hei to see how bad she was getting he'd probably worry and crack jokes to make her feel better and they were always terrible. She never did tell him the kinds of trouble she got into when she was searching for the truth of what happened to her family. Not that she really wanted to, they were just friends but she didn't want him prodding her with questions. Shaking off her headache she started looking up and around at the table she had posted herself. There was a Jack of spades which was strange, Ange turned it over and on the back was a letter E. Without any kind of hint this was very obtuse. Hei was searching the bar for anything but a lot of the bottles were actually fakes. There were however a few bottles with colored liquid with strange names, Red Sunset, Blue Paradise, Green Island, White Star, Orange Spring, Yellow Sun. There was a lot of bottles, "wow...never heard of half this stuff but it certainly looks good." He looked atop the counter and found a strange looking machine, it had two large bays on the side and one in the middle. There was a small stage in the machine as if a glass or a cup was supposed to sit there. Rin followed Yume around, almost like a lost puppy, "y-you okay Yume...d-did you see something?" she asked. 2/9/2021 #73 |
![]() ![]() Yume blinked in wonder when she saw someone with silver hair and other featureless shadows. She was disappointed when they left her sight. When she heard the concern of Rin, she gave her a calm look. "I thought I did...," she answered honestly. "I was told I have a wild imagination sometimes...." When she turned around, she spotted the key and gently picked up, scared that she would end up dropping it and lose it due to it's small size. 'Hmmm... I'm almost tempted to find a small door.' she thought as she examined he key. But since she's seen many music boxes in her childhood, she could tell what this key was for. Yume looked calmly to Rin. "I feel like... we should be searching for a music box in this place," she said. 2/9/2021 #74 |
![]() ![]() (Sorry for taking so long) Rin relaxed slightly, "oh okay...I was a bit...I thought you saw something crazy...despite this place having a bright atmosphere it's got this creepy side to it" she started scanning the tables and saw a message across the felt, 'Win the Game' it read. "I wonder what this means? what game are we winning? what's the prize?" Aki kept looking around for anything, heading to the far side of the room he saw through a small connecting corridor was another double-doors. Where the lock would be was a strange looking circular sigil with star shaped inserts. There were three of them. "hmm..." he was wondering what this meant. The blonde woman appeared and said, "questions questions, Try thinking for yourself for a change. What do you think it means?" Aki sighed, "looks like the we need to find these stars to open this door..." why couldn't things be simple. "I swear watching molasses drip out of the jar is more stimulating than watching the gears in your brain work" Aki scowled, walking back, "Hey I think I found the way out!" he said loud enough for everyone to hear. 3/15/2021 #75 |
![]() ![]() Yume looked at the message and if her time in Wonderland taught her anything... "The prize is our freedom," she stated. "The game is about our survival...." She perked up at the news of a way out, but though she was eager to leave the room, the more cautious part of her was wary. "Learning to proceed with caution? Seems you have been learning as you go, child~" "Quiet, Cat...," she whispered to herself before going over to the double doors to inspect them. She reached out to brush her fingers against but a flash of memories suddenly appeared in her vision. "I rule Wonderland alone." Yume gasped as she grabbed her in pain, green eyes widening as these words sounded as if they were being blasted into her head. "Your interference will not be tolerated." 4/25/2021 #76 |
![]() ![]() Rin started walking toward the supposed exit and turned around to gesture to Yume but then she saw her grasping her head and trotted back to her, "hey you alright? y-you getting a migraine?" she broke out in a cold sweat. Ange shook off her situation, burying it deep, before standing up and looking toward Aki, "what is it?" "Some kind of plate I think needs three stars to open the door!" Aki said from across the room. Ange sighed, "why can't anything be simple...Hei? you see anything?" "just a bunch of bottles with weird names and a strange machine" Hei said from behind the bar. Ange walked over to Yume and Rin, "You alright? if you need to take a breather go ahead, the bar has a bunch of empty seats" she had just finished her breather and was ready to get down to business. --- Aki scratched the back of his head, "maybe we have to win something in this casino to get the stars?" he started looking around but then the blonde woman appeared. she shook her head, "If that wasn't immediately apparent getting you out alive is going to be a slog, at least watching you die will entertain me for a minuscule moment. You know, I remember there being gatling guns in this room..." Aki was having trouble remembering what a gatling gun was. 4/30/2021 #77 |
![]() ![]() While all of that went on, Izo silently observed everyone from afar. Taking notes of everyone's personality to figure out their deal. To decide if he can trust any one of them. But when he was called over by Hei, he made his way to him and nodded "Im fine. Just....a little out of it." 6/15/2021 . Edited 6/15/2021 #78 |
![]() ![]() Hei nodded, "I understand, I mean look at the situation we're in. Though I can see it in the look in your eyes..." he's seen the look that was on Izo's face in the mirror many times, "...you're kinda like me, you want to make sure everyone makes it out alive whether you like them or not. I mean I could be wrong of course but that's just what I think." Hei accidentally pressed a button on the bar's under counter and out came a card with some instructions on it. "hmm..." Hei took a moment to read it and said, "it's a puzzle...oh great." looking at the machine there was a slot for some kind of key. According to the instructions the machine was the whole puzzle but it didn't look to be activated. "guess I need the key to start the damn thing...." Hei looked up, "Hey has anyone found some kind of key? I've got a puzzle over here" he raised his voice to everyone. --- Aki was walking around the room continuing the search. At the roulette tables there was a strange one with a star at the top of a column connected to the center of the wheel, "This has to be the star--or--at least one of the stars we need to get through." he had to make a lot of assumptions but that's all they could work with since nothing was explaining this game? and people were only going to eat if they made it passed the first door. Bet this one is a doozy. Go on, take a look at it, The blonde woman said within his mind. It was weird but for some reason he was getting used to it. He was hoping she'd be out of him before he began to like it. 7/12/2021 #79 |
![]() ![]() Yume breathed in and out as she attempted to calm herself down. At first, she wanted to insist that they keep going, but she would remember how her mother should not bring trouble by forcing herself to do things when she was not calming down. So rather than be stubborn, she nodded to Ange's suggestion. "I'll just need a couple of minutes," she said before going to take a seat on one of the empty bar seats. If her brother were alive, he no doubt would approve that she was taking a breather. He always said not to force herself to do anything whenever she had a fit. In order to make things less stressful, she had to first calm herself down, otherwise the situation would only be worse. She looked to the clearly worried Rin before shaking her head. "You can say... it was a migraine.... from remembering something I'd rather forget," she said monotonously. 8/8/2021 #80 |
![]() ![]() Hei looked up at Yume and Rin as they approached, he tore his attention away from the drink machine, "hey you two. Welcome to my little Arcadia in this hell hole. All I've got is a strange looking machine and a mess of strangely named drinks. To be honest, I'm not too keen on serving these drinks; at most I can serve the three of you my company." A friendly but slight smile crept on his face. Rin looked up at him, "you know...you look like you belong behind a bar." Hei tilted his head and his smile became more distant, "really? well I did work as a barrista and bartender for a bit. Now I'm stuck dumb by this thing" he gestured toward the machine, "I'm pretty sure it's a puzzle but I wouldn't know what to do" --- Ange raised her eyebrow at Hei but sighed and continued looking into the blackjack tables she had managed to find an ace of spades card, "huh." she really wanted to summon the help of the seven stakes but without her book and the fact that there may have been normal people here she wasn't about to start pulling magic out of her ass. She was sure the blackjack table had something to do with the exit but with a vague hint like 'win the game' how was she supposed to figure it out. She decided to take a step back and do what her big bro always did, spin the chessboard around. From it looks like the facility was meant to hold people for an extended period of time. With the clues of possible food sources quite a while. This room was large with a door locked by key items hidden within. But there was a question that was bothering her, why? Why would anyone want to do something like this? for fun? Ange shook her head, the why wasn't going to help her at the moment, she thought of what someone who would have designed the puzzle. There were quite a few people that could walk into this puzzle which would explain why the room was so large. The door had multiple locks so there were multiple puzzles. This particular puzzle used Blackjack as a base but there were no cards. So she had to search the room and find them. Ange sighed at the realization, "great..." -- Aki looked at the roulette table and tried to decipher just what the hell he was supposed to do with it, "this is so...esoteric" Half the puzzle is figuring it out what it means, The blonde haired woman in the black and white dress said, You know I realized something about the witch girl and the tall boy. He's a fuck boy or at least I think so? Aki accidentally thwacked his head against the table, "o-ow...what?" A witch's servant, in exchange for power. We in the know call them fuck boy's but that doesn't mean we don't branch out to girls. That disturbed Aki but he didn't understand why, he would certainly look at Hei differently but he wondered if he had the option, would he take the deal? 8/9/2021 #81 |
![]() ![]() Izo saw the displeased expression on Ange's face, and it made him wonder what was wrong. So over to her he walked, "Umm hello...Is there something wrong?" 8/12/2021 #82 |
![]() ![]() Ange looked up at Izo and shook her head with a sharp exhale, "no, well yeah but we're all in this. I figured this is some kind of puzzle involving blackjack cards." she looked down and ran her hand across the table felt, "I only found a ace of spades. if I'm going to win with this I need a ten or a royal card." she turned to Izo, "have you found any playing cards just lying around?" -- Aki decided to think through the puzzle while striking up a conversation with the voice in his head because it seemed like he was going to be dumbstruck for a while, so...did she have servants of her own considering she's a witch. As a matter of fact I do. Quite a few in fact. When I was alive I basically built a cult around me and I didn't even tell her to do that. My vessel was fucking legend. There are some walking around with access to my powers. Aki wondered what kind of powers they'd have access to and... I wouldn't offer you powers for your soul even if you asked me. If you want out of this shitty place then do it. Like I said before, and I hate repeating myself, I ain't helping. I'm only here to watch. Besides I don't think you could handle it. 8/12/2021 #83 |
![]() ![]() Yume looked around the bar, reminded of how often she's seen people come out of the bar. She reached up and placed her hand against her head. Where though? Where had she seen people come out of a bar? She blinked as she swore she saw a bottle in the shape of a chess piece. Green eyes surveyed the bottle once, twice, and three times to make sure she wasn't just seeing things. After confirming that it wasn't a hallucination. "Hey.... can you hand me that bottle?" she asked Hei, voice monotonous yet firm, pointing her finger at the bottle in question. She had to see for herself if what she was seeing was real 10/21/2021 #84 |
![]() ![]() Hei picked up the bottle and looked it over, "This one?" It was the bottle titled White Star in pretty black cursive, it looked like a wine bottle with a suspiciously cloudy liquid inside of it, on the label there was an inscription of a falling star. "uh okay, just don't drink it I'm not sure what's inside of it." Rin looked it over, "I'm no expert on wine but is it supposed to be cloudy like that?" "Depends on the wine really. But looking at this machine I think it's supposed to be some kind of mixer. I mean I see to closed slot-looking things on the top here but I've got no way to open it. I think we have to mix the alcohol." Hei surmised. 10/22/2021 #85 |
![]() ![]() Yume looked at the liquid and couldn't help but get a strange feeling. "Cheshire... do you see anything...?" she whispered to herself. "There seems to be something within the bottle," the cat replied. "Though what it is, I'm afraid it's too cloudy to see. Cloudy as one's mind when put into a daze~" She nearly rolled her eyes at that last part, but refrained from doing so. "There's something in that bottle," she informed. "You'll probably need to pour that drink into the mixer to empty the bottle and find the content inside...." 10/22/2021 #86 |
![]() ![]() Hei tilted his head, staring at the bottle, he then held it out as if he was holding it to someone who was beside and behind him, "You see something?" after a moment he nodded, "well whatever it is...it is not the key to this machine and without it I can't open it to solve the puzzle" he blinked staring at Yume. Hei then turned his head as if someone was whispering to him. Rin finally noticed and tilted her head, "uh...wh-what...are you talking to?" Hei chuckled, "I mean we all have our guardian angels. Mine is...he just has a bit of an attitude problem." Rin's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates, "uuh, yeah I g-guess..." she was going to write him off as crazy. Hei sighed, "Yume-san, You've got a small looking key in your pocket...let me see it. You must have picked it up a while back but maybe...just maybe it's the key I'm looking for." 10/22/2021 #87 |
![]() ![]() Yume blinked before slipping her hand in her skirt pocket and pulling out the key. "......" She had forgotten the key's existence and possible meaning. As much as she should apologize, she figured she'd save that for when they got out of here. She handed it to Hei without hesitation. 'I need to fix my memory... I'm forgetting important things....' 10/24/2021 #88 |
![]() ![]() Hei smiled wearily at her, "thanks, hopefully this fits and I wasn't just talking out my ass" he stuck the strange looking wind-up key and twisted it. A satisfying click from the back opened the two slots on top and disposal grate started glowing, next to it 3 squares that appeared to be small stages lit up. In front of the machine, a small slot opened and spat out a card toward Yume. Rin looked surprised, "oh wow...that's what that key was for...w-wait...how did you know she picked that up?" Hei immediately suffered a headache, "mmm...lucky guess...Why don't you guys take a look at it and I'll be right back" he set the three glasses he found behind the bar on the counter. He walked off. ---- Ange saw what Hei was doing and shook her head, "idiot..." she gestured with her finger for him to come over. Hei walked over to Ange with a raised eyebrow while holding his temple, "w-what's up Ange?" "You're being stupid. But I guess I didn't give you a run down of this place." Ange admonished him and bid him closer so she could whisper, "this is similar to the world I came from." "but aren't you from 1980? this stuff looks closer to modern day" Hei whispered back. "never mind that! in this world if you do obviously magical things you get punished especially if a normal human perceives it. Even if it doesn't work that way where you're from your presence here is wrong so you'll get paradox if someone starts to observe that. So be subtle, okay?" "got it. I'll be careful. You need help with this thing?" "no...I got Izo to help if anything just finish your side" Ange made a shoo-ing motion to dismiss him. "swapping me for the younger model eh?" Hei said walking away. Ange grumbled something about tossing Hei out of a window. 10/25/2021 #89 |
![]() ![]() Yume blinked when the card floated towards her and she managed to catch it. It had the same glow as the queen of hearts that she had found earlier. Except, this time, the card was an ace of spades. But the one property they both shared was that the glow was for her eyes, and her eyes only. It made her curious, yet cautious at the same time. "Curiosity killed the cat!" they would say, yet sometimes the girl would lament that phrase would also apply to the Cheshire Cat. ... No. Nevermind. The last time she thought he died sent her mind into a downward spiral until he was revived. 'Don't ever think such a thought again, Yume,' she thought to herself. It suddenly started making a sharp ringing noise when she made it, and the spade was then pointing to the top left. Yume looked to see a wall. While she did intend to dismiss it as just her overactive imagination (as usual), she noticed a bit of the wall paper was lifted up. Reaching out and pinching it in between her fingers, she pulled it up to reveal a small door. 10/28/2023 #90 |
