Located in the southeastern hemisphere of the planet, the ZeGoth Wetlands are as vast as they are humid. The land in this region is indisputable, home to some of the most dangerous predators that the planet has to offer. The people of Wondlu who call this region home, are expert hunters and fisherman. Being that the ground is so unstable and wet, very few permanent man made structures dot the region. Although there are many small primitive trade villages that survive off of the trade that comes from the river that drains out into the Southern Sea. From the very first time that imperial boots set foot on Wondlu, The ZeGoth Wetlands had been a problem for the occupiers. Many high profile rebel leaders have fled here. They hide amongst the weeds, thickets, and swamps of ZeGoth, striking at imperial forces, and then slipping away, back into the trees, or blending into the local population itself.

The local population has a long history of armed insurgency, and are loyal, if not fanatical supporters of Wondlu's royal government. Most were openly hostile to imperial forces, let alone uncooperative. Many imperial forces believe that upwards of forty percent of the local inhabitants engage in some form of insurgent activity, and seventy percent are at least sympathetic to the rebel cause on Wondlu. As a result, an assignment to ZeGoth is thought by many imperials to be a death sentence. It was a common fact shared amongst imperial personnel, that the average life expectancy of a rookie storm trooper was just four days after arriving in the region...
