Prompt: Someone gains something they've always desired, knowing that they will eventually lose it.

Guidelines or Requirements: This desire can be an object or a person or something abstract. Who is trying to obtain this desire, as well as the why and the how, is up to you, along with the temporary nature of the obtained desire. Perhaps they are given an exact expiry date or maybe they only know that it's not permanent and can be taken from them at any time. You can use any genre or setting you'd like. The only requirements are that the story is DG oriented, you follow the prompt's theme and that it be a one-shot. Post links to stories on here and/or the Discord channel.

Length: One-shot (maybe try not to exceeed 20K).

Rating: Any.
