Clodia

Happy birthday, Randy!

Thank you, everyone! It's been a great day so far.

What, Morth? You mean the Viagra wasn't for keeping me regular? Too late . . . ;)

Happy birthday Randy. Shit, I didn't even see this topic. Sorry about that :P

Thanks, Al. This topic was buried deep. LOL

Happy Birthday big guy!

*throws parade in Randy's honor*

Look! There goes militaryhistory and Olorime with the color guard. Olorime trips and her rifle goes off, winging Morthoron on the float behind. Undaunted, Morthoron and his band continue rocking their performance of "Thick as a Brick" while he ties a tourniquet around his arm.

Here comes Seth on a float dedicated to technology, with an LED screen flashing birthday greetings. Does that screen say what I think it does? Oh, my! Shame on you, Seth.

Then there's the horse brigade with Virtuella and Deoric riding proudly in the lead on their Mearas bred horses while Ragnelle, in her Eorling armor, and NiRi, in her finest Elvish attire, follow on their own sturdy mounts.

And there's Clodia on a classics float with huge animatronic Greek philosophers. Is Cicero goosing Aristotle?

Al is walking the parade route arm in arm with a mysterious pale woman in a black cloak. Al waves and smiles but the woman is scanning the crowd with a hungry look.

Following behind is Avery, dressed in her designer couture, while Mike wobbles beside her in a tiger print miniskirt and stiletto heels, smiling and winking at a group of watching sailors.

Pien and Rachaelle have gone existential with their float, a capital letter "Y". Perched on top they wave to the crowd while singing a duet of "What's it All About Alfie".

Dancing behind the float and twirling a baton with energetic exuberance, Kat is singing and dancing to a medley of show tunes.

RC rides by on an elephant that is strewing lotus blossoms over the path before them with its trunk.

Now here comes a favorite for the child in all of us, a giant helium balloon of a smiling brain, expertly manned by Gogol. And right behind, a balloon shaped like a sharp pin piloted by Inez.

Here comes Aislynn, her float a tribute to writer's block. A massive, moveable Rubiks Cube is in the center surrounded by Elves from Imladris and Mirkwood. She, Legolas, and Aragorn are pushing the squares this way and that, trying to line up the colors while the others shout directions.

Pandemonium scored quite a coup this year, getting Sauron to act as Grand Marshall. Unfortunately the car is surrounded by impenetrable darkness so we can only assume Sauron and Pande are waving to the crowd somewhere within.

All good things must come to an end, and as the Grand Marshall's presumed car disappears around the corner the crowd disperses, wondering what happened to the guest of honor. When everyone has gone a lone figure arrives, wearing a janitor uniform, and proceeds to sweep the empty street.

In lieu of the story I owe you. lol

ROLF!

Shame on you, Seth.

My bad, I was a little tipsy when I ordered that sign. When I slur, my "birth" must sound like "bris".

You have to be faster *before* because you really slow down *after*. lol

That was wonderful, Mike. Especially Clodia on her float with the animatronic Greek philosophers - though she might have preferred Cicero? And I'd love to ride with Deoric. ;-)

Thanks. And Cicero was there. Or do you think she'd have preferred him to be on the receiving end of the goose? lol

And I'd love to ride with Deoric. ;-)

I'm sure he would feel the same way. That is, if he existed. :-)

I have to ask, how come I was the one to trip? :P

No particular reason. *whistles innocently*

Sorry, I overlooked Cicero. What is a goose, other than a large domestic bird? Would I want to know?

On second thoughts, I don't really want to meet Deoric. I'm sure he'd complain to me about his leg.

Not really. lol

But then you could give him some much needed advice.

ROFL!!!! Fun with unfamiliar English idioms.

To 'goose' is to play grab-ass with a person, often using one's thumb in a very familiar fashion. Cicero woulda loved it.

7/11/2010 #49
Olorime

I didn't know that, nor had I anyone played that with me, thank goodness. :P

ROFLMAO! Well, if I was still with the certain band that played 'Thick as a Brick' regularly at the bar, I most likely would have been so stoned I couldn't feel a gun shot.

That was great, Iggy!

Like what? "Don't drop your paintbox in the river?"

Randy to the rescue. lol I never know how to explain these things delicately. Fortunately with you around I don't have to. lol

Thanks Morth. I didn't think you'd mind being shot for a good cause. ;-) I could have left out the tourniquet but that would just have been more for Randy to clean up.

Like what? "Don't drop your paintbox in the river?"

LOL I was thinking more along the lines of "Suck it up and quit complaining", but the paintbox thing would work too.

"Suck it up and quit complaining"

This is not the kind of style in which sensitive, supportive educators like yours truly advise young people in distress. :P

Rofl, good job buddy. The, er, 'pale woman' sends you the black spot. You weren't supposed to see her there.

*does bad impression of a woman's voice* Yes that's right! You're in for it now!

I'd watch myself if I were you.

Don't do that to me. It's devilish hard to run in stilettos.
