the wise and the brave

A women fell into a full bath of liquid at work. When she got out she was dry, but was taken straight to the hospital. Can you explain why she was dry and why she was taken to the hopsital?

1. The liquid was at room temperature.

2. There were warning signs to keep clear.

3. It was an accident that caused her to call into the bath.

4. She had fallen gently and had not suffered a concussion or severe blows.

5. The liquid in the bath was 4 feet deep, and little of the liquid splashed out when she fell in.

6. She was not wearing any protective clothing.

7. She had not swallow any of the liquid.

8. She was required to burn her clothes.

- Taken from my puzzle book. This should be really easy with all the clues...^-^

... Is it the liquid thingy used in drycleaning? She's dry because, well, it's drycleaning, and the stuff is poisonous IIRC.

What comes once in a minute, twice in a moment, but never in a thousand years?

This is pretty easy but anyway...

1/18/2011 #64

Heard that before.

Here's a lovely one from a maths paper. I changed the names, because, well, this is a PJO forum after all:

"You eat more than I do," said Luke to Kronos.

"That is not true," said Kronos to Luke.

"You are both wrong," said Percy, to them both.

"You are right," said the Chiron to Percy.

How many of the four statments are true?

Not that hard. Just logic.

Yup, and 2?

Ummm... To the riddle with Luke, Kronos, Chiron, and Percy, isn't there three right statements? *guessing*

1/18/2011 #67

Percy's definitely lying, because Kronos and Luke can't be both wrong (or right); they're contradicting each other. So Chiron is also lying. And Luke and Kronos contradicting each other in a basic yes/no/true/false thing, one of them have to be right, and the other has to be wrong. So one.

Am I doing this wrong?

None, because they're all opinions. :D

This one's kinda easy, but oh well~

What has two wings and twenty-two legs?

Jack is six feet, one inch tall. He works at a butcher shop, and his shoe size is eight. What does he weigh?

1/18/2011 #72
the wise and the brave

What is wrong with this statement?

- Jack weights 60 pounds. *nods head* XD

1/18/2011 . Edited 1/18/2011 #73

it's not a statement, it's a question.

ed: um, is Jack anorexic? *raises eyebrows* that's not it.

He weighs meat. He's a butcher. 8D

Nothing (?)

ED: By that I mean they have nothing in common.

Gahhh. I've heard this before, but with an island instead of a swimming pool.... Is it because they're both is the middle of water?*is almost positive that I'm wrong*
1/19/2011 #80

Ave - is it a football field?

1/19/2011 #81

For the Luke/Kronos/Percy/Chiron thing (the puzzle I mean, not what seems to be a really weird foursome...though...hmm...incoming plot bunny + possibly mind scarring images)

One of the statements was true. I could explain if anyone wants, though Musa seems to have done quite a good job.

Congrats, Musa. You get a virtual cookie.

What do the letter T and a swimming pool have in common?

...that's a three patch problem (for me, anyway). And I don't have patches. Therefore, no idea.

1/19/2011 #82

8D I fail completely at these, but I love giving them to others.

What English word retains the same pronunciation, even after you take away four of its five letters?

What is the largest number you can write using just two numbers? (No other symbols allowed)

What do the letter T and a swimming pool have in common?

OHHH. I KNOW THIS. 8D I think.

There's a T at the bottom of every swimming pool. Is that it?

ed: Beth - Uh... 99?

1/19/2011 . Edited 1/19/2011 #86

And here I thought that this would be a bit harder. But yes, that's correct.

9 to the power of 9? I'm not sure if exponets are considered a symbol, though . . .
