Those are Western animated cartoons influenced heavily by anime. Not that it matters - you can write what you can write. It's aaaaallllllll good.

1/11/2010 #61

You can write anything.

Western or Eastern.

Hey Riggs, can you try to recruit authors?

I think i exhausted my favorites, and I don't have the time to look over a thousand new fics with school work and all. No offense.

We need to get some authors who know how the Shin Megami Tensei Franchise works.

1/11/2010 #62

temhota tech, just so you should know: when i wrote Survial of the Species, i didnt really have any set ideas in mind. (well mabey the ending fight between simms and reaper)

i didnt really view myself as that much of a good author. i was bored and i had an idea stuck in my head about me and my friends. from that i just worked on it. nothing more.

i'm sorry to say that i might not be able to help you out with this work.

for one there are just too many unknowns. anohter is that u never know what the other authors are going to add in so u will never know how to work in your own specialities of writing.

for example: one author could be writing about something like naruto. they hand it over to somebody who specialises in something like science fiction horror films or games and they might not know how to move it on.

i'm not saying that this is a bad idea. for the record i think it bloody well rules. but i just done see how my style is going to fit into it.

i mean sure i might be able to hep out with small bits, like the type of weaponry the enemy or the good guys use. but when it comes to chapters and such. no dice for me.

Hey Riggs, can you try to recruit authors?

I'm not terribly well-connected these days, but I'll see what I can do.

Speelns: The way I see it, some authors will simply not be able to pick up the exact same narrative threads left by the previous author in the writing order. As such, I think it might be prudent for "side stories" to develop in tandem with the main narrative. That way, authors can get into their comfort zones before diving into other people's storylines.

As such, I think you should take a crack at this. Get your own (but connected) plot thread going, and then eventually tie it back into the main storyline. If such a thing is possible.

1/12/2010 . Edited 1/12/2010 #64

Thats a good point Riggs.

If i might, can i suggest that you try and request the author named Turrasta to join in this work?

I tiold him about it and he seems a little bit interested.

TemhotaTech, i know you know of him cause he told me that you have replyed to some of his storys chapters.

1/12/2010 #65

Actually... well I think I know him? but it might have been a long time ago. I just added him to my favorites.

If he does know me, then I'm sorry if I forgotten him.

Anyway, I checked his profile.

He would be a good adittion to the group.

1/13/2010 #66

We should set up teams. That way, the ones who can write Naruto can also potentially write Spongebob. For instance, I can write Naruto, Spongebob, and Mario. I can cross those over. But if it needed something else, I could hand it over to someone else.

Think of a spiderweb. Each individual thread connects to several others, spreading out to create a huge and intricate web.

Outside of that, I don't know.

1/13/2010 #67

I guess that could work. Although they can use any fandom they want.

Hey Riggs, I read that test chapter. Nice work. It was darker then expected.

Can you write the second half of it?

Could be where they are rescued by the KND, and they explain what that stuff is, and what its doing.

Also have them explain that an unkown foe is controlling the sludge.

1/13/2010 #68
Evil Riggs

Will do on the second chapter. I already have "rescuers" set up, and can throw some of the Kids Next Door in if need be.

The original intention was to show the beginnings of a kind of multi-universal refugee group, made up of lesser-known characters, that eventually hooks up with the main narrative down the line. I also wanted to write a good ol' fashioned Lovecraftian horror show to really hammer home the stakes of the overall conflict. Of course, I really just wanted to write John Constantine and Floyd Lawton together. Their interaction is a bit flat at the moment, but it was fun to at least make a stab at it.

Hey riggs, you read constantine? What about pulling in Zatanna, and other comic book characters.

1/14/2010 #70

I would like to see a lot of Marvel and DC heros and villians.

I did noticed you mentioned the Black Lanturns.

Hey riggs, you read constantine? What about pulling in Zatanna, and other comic book characters.

I had no plan to include Zatanna, but given magic's ability to do whatever you damn well please, I'm sure we can throw her in down the line. After all, one of my favorite moments from Ennis's Hellblazer run is Zatanna getting stoned and babbling backwards. Hee.

The prototype story I submitted has the DC Universe basically getting plowed under by the sludge or ooze or whatever more elegant name we end up applying to it. There's plenty of room for survivors to get out and into the multiverse, so have anybody with a comics bent is welcome to salvage a character or three. So far, I'm up in the air about who's getting onto the "life raft" at the end of the two chapters. I'd love to write Tommy Monaghan a bit (even if it doesn't fit in with the general timeline at all). Perhaps a B-list Lantern or three. And Jack Knight . . . and Bulleteer and The Red Bee and Count Vertigo and Animal Man and Overman and, oh, the possibilities!

The name for the Conglameration account is...

still a three-way tie! I suggest some more people vote =P

1/14/2010 #73

I'll work on the second chapter of my test later, Temhota. Can I read yours, Riggs? I want to see how other authors are handling this.

I think I'm gonna focus on old game characters this time around. Cause I love me some oldies. Mario, Pacman, Dig Dug, Asteroid, Frogger, ETC...

1/14/2010 #74

Old Video games. Nice.

Can you guys imagine the Axiom blasting dark sludge meteors?

Also can you imagine heros going underground and inflating Darklings to death?

Also imagine a frog trying to cross an infected road-way?

1/14/2010 #75
Evil Riggs

Can I read yours, Riggs?

Sure. Confirm my connection and I'll send you the document.

1/14/2010 #76

Can I post all the test chapters on the forum?

Also should certain modern cartoons be cut from the story?

Also how many chapters should there be for each world in the second saga?

1/15/2010 #77
Evil Riggs

Can I post all the test chapters on the forum?

Go nuts.

Also should certain modern cartoons be cut from the story?

Which ones? For what reasons?

Also how many chapters should there be for each world in the second saga?

I have a feeling that strict structuring that far out is probably not our first priority here. We need to figure out who wants to do what before we set down the rails for this thing. That said (and playing devil's advocate), a structural plan is probably the only thing that will keep this thing from becoming an unmanageable cluster-screw.

1/15/2010 #78

==Which ones? For what reasons?==

One of the authors I recruited said some Modern cartoons he doesn't like shouldn't be in it.

I don't know which ones he was talking about. He has yet to respond. I did ask which ones.

1/15/2010 #79

Alright Riggs, I'll take care of that.

I don't think we should cut any cartoons out if there is someone out there who wants to draw them. Wouldn't that kinda defeat the whole point of this? To help promote unity between sections and act as a tribute to FanFiction? :/ I dunno...

1/15/2010 #80

Well, I guess your right.

Does this mean your okay if the Star Wars: The Clone Wars is in it? We can have it cut, if you want to?

1/15/2010 #81

I don't care. I don't necessarily think we should base the Star Wars stuff off it though. Anything dealing with Star Wars should focus on the original movies, not branch off's. Other stuff, like Luke's wife Mara Jade and the Clone Wars, could be background things referenced but not dictating the actions of the main characters. Unless we're going to end up messing with the time stream; then anything's game. :D

1/15/2010 #82

Let's not forget expanded universes.

I was thinking heros from all eras of Star Wars could appear.

From the Clone Wars to the current timeline.

Or maybe we should go with the current timeline, where Luke has passed away.

But out of curiosity, is it okay with you if Ahsoka appears DnpR? (That's short for dragonsandpikminrock)

1/15/2010 #83

I don't mind, as long as I don't have to write her. Though, she disappears in the (chronologically) third movie. What happened to her? There are some continuity issues with her.

1/16/2010 #84

i'm with you there man, even though admittedly i have rarely seen the series, i cant help but wounder, what the hell happened to her and why isn't she in the third movie? its kind of hard to have a character that admittedly goes nowhere in the storyline. or mabey i just dont know what i am saying, lol

oh and Temhota, i just thought i should let you know that Turrasta does infact know who you are.

i was talking to him the other day and when you came up he remembered you automaticaly becuase you replied to one of his fanfics.

1/16/2010 . Edited 1/16/2010 #85

I know! But my biggest question always was: How does a padawan almost beat Grievous? The guy kills Jedi for a living, and is one of the most wanted/feared creatures in the universe, and yet she crosses swords with him and almost wins!?! Strange...

I finished the second test chapter TT, I'll send it to you in a minute.

1/16/2010 #86

That is a big plot hole. And yeah they never mentioned that Grevious was a Kaleesh, and never mentioned it was an iccident with a invading alien race that encourage his hatred of Jedi. I think I got that right.

I'll read the your Test Chpater ASAP

As for modern cartoons... the only way they can get removed if none of the authors we recruit don't want to write them. If recruits want to write them oh well.

1/16/2010 #87

I know, that was strange. I'm pretty sure you did; it's been a while since I read the book. :D

I just saw the Test Chapters, nice. :)

Right. And this is FF, anything can be written anyway. So something I hate could become something decent on here. XD

Did you like Arcadia in my Test Chapter? I forgot to ask on that forum.

1/16/2010 #88

It was good. Nice. It's the stuff I'm looking for.

Is it okay if those infected (turned into Darklings) could return to normal?

1/16/2010 #89

Good, glad you like.

Yeah. I kind of put that in, where Donkey Kong Jr reverts as he's dying. Of course, he was too far gone to revert in time, but still...

I planned to work that into my next chapter, actually. :D
