Human Parent: Ira Caulder/ Emily Shifter and Christopher Rosefelt. Hephaestus and Ira fell deeply in love, both holding a great love for heat and quiet. Aphrodite found out, and much to her husband's shock, was actually jealous. Shortly after Ira became pregnant and the goddess of love and lust even more furious, Hephaestus decided that for her safety he would have to send his daughter to be away. The little baby girl was placed in a new family that slightly resembled her and is honestly convinced that she is their child. Emily Shifter and Christopher Rosefelt would continue to raise her to adulthood, with much love and peace, but a slight confusion at her odd abilities. Ira eventually killed herself, much to Hephaestus's heartbreak. Whether Aphrodite drove her to it or not he doesn't know.

Special Abilities: Emily can spout fire at will, from any segment of her body, but the fire has to be touching her for her to control it. She is unable to control fire she hasn't conjured, but can 'suck it up' inside her. Emily's heart is on fire in her chest, and so long as it is burning, she is alive. Several things make it dim: Water, of any kind in any situation starts to put her flames out, cold freezes it up, heartbreak makes her dim or flare depending on the amount of anger involved, and finally, physical injuries slow the dance of her flames. Heat is exhilarating, never debilitating to her, and she can love any amount of it. Her skin is near indestructible; acid only tickles and flames just give her a pleasant burning tingle she adores. However, you can cut it just as easily as a normal human's flesh, and she bruises even at a light touch.

Personality: Perky, lighthearted and optimistic. Terribly hot headed, loathes being called 'cute' and hates it when people touch her hair. She's a fiery passionate person with an inability to hold a grudge and a laizzez faire 'it's all good' attitude a bit different from Allie's constant excitement. She has a wonderful, strong charisma that really gets people up on their feet. A real 'people person', and a very very very skilled pastry chef, thanks to her adoptive mother, with the ability to make indisputably perfect chocolate chip cookies. Emily has troubles visioning the suffering of people she doesn't know and doesn't see; people she has known for a minute she would defend with her life, but unnamed others who may be in danger she can't really understand exist. It's a bit of a dilemma she's working on, but makes her sense of right and wrong very very open when it comes to others. To herself, she is very strict with how she behaves, doing only what she believes right (unless she looses her temper), but has hardly a problem socializing with otherss who are actually quite cruel. Emily romanticizes everything, and is often heart broken when those illusions of happiness and love are shattered.

Appearance: Long red, orange, and gold hair she is extremely proud of. It's buoyant, thick and lovely, and without a doubt her very best feature. Her eyes are tiny and round - barely avoiding 'beady', but a pretty shade of bright blue. She has a large nose, a very cute shape but too big to really work properly. Her lower lip is huge, and her upper a little too tiny. Her skin is rosy pink, almost reddish, and she is near always smiling brightly. Emily is 4'10", a little stubby due to a love of anything with sugar in it (it helps fuel her fire, too), and absolutely, positively, adorable. She looks fourteen if that, with the cutest face you ever did see, even if, adorableness aside, it isn't that pretty.

History: Emily was always the odd one out in her home, even if her family truly loved her. Her namesake and mother disapproved of her fiery abilities and loathe for water, her father was quiet and accepting as he taught her how to work a forge, but Emily's longing for adventure and the feeling that there was somewhere she truly belonged kept getting her into trouble with her little sister and both her parents. Her only weapon is martial arts, but she is nothing of an acrobat and though skilled slightly with a sword (her father made replicas of ancient ones for a living she just had to play with), it's really nothing to write home about.

Personality: She keeps fighting until the very end. Sam is extremely hard to beat and she is not afraid to take you down if you get in her way. She is determined and is a very driven girl. Just by looking at Sam, you know you are going down. She is loyal, doesn't trust people easily, Strong, Independent, short tempered, brave, courageous, funny, nice to her friends, can kick any ones butt, and knows when to be funny and when to be serious. She is still trying to learn how to control her temper. Sarcastic. A total rebel
