I'll start.

The stupid neither forgive nor forget; the naïve forgive and forget; the wise forgive, but do not forget. ~Thomas Szasz

I had dear friends, and you know they're your friends because they can listen to you say the same thing over and over again.~Alec Baldwin

Writing is the finest and most important rewarding of all vocations except for the part where you have to buy food. So by all means, write on. But don't say I didn't warn you. ~Pete Hautman

When someone slams your writing, listen carefully to what they say. Then tell yourself that he or she is a tasteless, moronic, jealous, mean-spirited, ignorant jerk. Then go back to your garret and figure out what you did wrong. ~Pete Hautman

Alas, true love is that rarest of flowers, yet its true nature is that of utmost selfishness, as it requires both to give their very existance to the other, without sharing to the world. Yet, mankind constantly pursues it, like the rarest and most beautiful of gems. Yet, what happens when the gem is lost, or the flower fades? The few that find true love fade with it, as we have given our very existance, our very being to the other. Yet, love is what makes life worth living, men have died, killed, in the hopes of defending what they love. But why do we pursue love so fervently? Why do we want it so? What makes love so appealing is the knowledge that we have something to fight for, the fact that we are needed for something other then mere material needs, that there is someone that truly cannot live without you. That is why we love.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will start a nuclear war." ~Me

"If we dissolved without a trace, would the real world even care? ... Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't wanna live there." ~Adam Young

"Some women choose to follow men, and some women choose to follow their dreams. If you're wondering which way to go, remember that your career will never wake up and tell you that it doesn't love you anymore." ~Lady Gaga

"Love means never having to say 'sorry'." ~Love Story

"You don't love someone because they're perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they're not." ~Jodi Picoult.

"Let me tell you this: if you meet a loner, no matter what they tell you, it's not because they enjoy solitude. It's because they have tried to blend into the world before, and people continue to disappoint them." ~Jodi Picoult.

"Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armour, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love." ~Neil Gaiman.

"Don't be afraid to be a fool. Remember, you cannot be both young and wise. Young people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics. Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don't learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying yes begins things. Saying yes is how things grow. Saying yes leads to knowledge. 'Yes' is for young people. So for as long as you have the strength to, say yes." ~Stephen Colbert

It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or the door of deeds could have done better.

The credit goes to the man in the arena, Who's face is marred by the dust, sweat, and blood, who strives valiantly, who's errs and comes short again and again, Who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, and spends himself on a worthy cause, who at best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who, at worst fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

Reggie: "Um... Austria, right?"

Me: *Dies of laughter*

We had so many funny things happen at my school... Joseph was a particularly rich source of funny material. Here's another one!

Sugimura: "Joseph!"

Joseph: "Yes'm?" (He constantly said that to male teachers.... I have no idea why)

Sugimura: *blank stare* "Joseph, I want to strangle you. Then the cops would come and take me away... and I would go to jail... BUT! It'd be worth it... because you'd be dead."

Me: *records this conversation in a notebook because he loves seeing Joseph get hammered by the faculty. (He's that annoying bastard that always tried to ruin my reputation because I was better than him.)*

Samantha Carter: "Our goal is to take out Anubis' new super weapon. It's what gives him a clear advantage over the rest of the Goa'uld mother ships. Now, we've received word from Teal'c that Yu has pledged to bring the full force of the remaining System Lords' fleet down on Anubis once we've succeeded." Jack O'Neill: "Okay. Everyone who thinks this is absolutely an insane idea, raise your hand. Come on, be honest."

*Everyone, including Carter, eventually raise their hand.*

Jack O'Neill: All I'm saying—just for the record—this is the wackiest plan we've ever come up with. Samantha Carter: Wackier than strapping an active Stargate to the bottom of an X-303? O'Neill: Oh yeah. Carter: Wackier than blowing up a sun? O'Neill *walking out of the room*: Yep! Carter: He's probably right. - Stargate SG1, Season 7 Episode 1 "Fallen"

Nobody tells this to people who are beginners. I wish someone had told me.

All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple of years you make stuff, its just not that good. It's trying to be good, it has potential, but it's not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase; they quit. We know our work doesn't have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out, or are stuck in this phase, you gotta know that it is normal, and the most important thing you can do is to do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you finish one piece. It's only going through a volume of work(whether the work is writing or reading) that you will close that gap and your writing will be as good as your ambitions. Its gonna take a while, but that's perfectly normal. You just gotta fight your way through.

And then Father, the Rapture dream was over.

You taught me that is just a word. Under the skin, it's simple pain. For you, mercy was victory -- you sacrificed, you endured, and when given the forgave. Always.

Mother believed that this world was irredeemable... But she was wrong Father. We are Utopia, you and I. And in forgiving, we left the door open for her...
