I'm 22 a year old male and a Harry Potter addict.
I discovered Harry Potter fan-fiction the way that many of us did. I was searching on line for info on book six and I found BarbLP the Physic Serpent trilogy and I've been hooked ever since.
I like Dark Harry but who doesn't. I like Independent Harry and I would like to see more STRAIGHT Male Veela Harry stories. I like to see a strong Harry with some flaws. I don't like to see Harry whining throughout the entire story. I love to read Smart Harry Disobedience Writer is one of the best at writing Smart Harry.
I don't mind cliches because fan-fictions are like music. It's hard to do something that hasn't been done. What I like to see is someone take a cliche and do something original with that. I like to see Super-Rich Harry with a lot of houses. I like to read Manipulative Dumbledore with new ways that he manipulates Harry. I also like Super Harry as long as he is not over-powering Voldemort. If he could do that then he could kill him in the first chapter. I like to see them fight as equals.
As far as pairings go my personal favorites are Harry/Hermione and Harry/Fluer, but I will read anything but male slash. Not that I have anything against it, I have gay friends who I think are great people, I just don't want to read about it in detail. I may read a slash story as long as it's not Harry in the relationship. I like to see rarely used pairings but Harry/Ginny is beginning to get on my nerves. Yeah I like a few but it will take a lot to get me to read another. I think the epilogue of DH did it to me, and in the books Harry and Ginny seemed forced.
I think that the books were well written and besides the epilogue J.K. left us with a great universe to play with.
I have a lot of favorite authors in the fan- fiction world but my main ones at the moment are Jbern, Bobmin (Bobmin is located at fanficauthors.net), Disobedience Writer, Jon3776, and Highbrass. My favorite author outside of fan-fiction is Stephen King.
I'm currently working on my first fan-fiction.
