Letter to My Readers
I write this here because it gets tiring explaining myself to new readers who comment on my spelling or grammar. And no I'm not angered by the comments. Just tired of them, and constantly sighing when I see a new one. If you do feel the need to comment on it, please at least give me something I can fix or work on.
These are the facts of life for me and how they affect my writing.
When I was two and a half I was in a coma for five and a half days. I woke up with a level of brain damage that among other things affected my learning, reading and writing. (I'm not bothered by this. I just want you to understand.)
So yes, I know my grammar and my spelling can be terrible. I also know that I am constantly trying to correct it and improve. To those few who really know me, they will know that I go over ever new chapter posted at least ten times. Yet somehow I always find more mistakes and correct them after I have posted it. XD I really can't say why that is. And then there are times when I post a chapter while so tired that I really should have waited. But I get so anxious about wanting to post it before I change my mind.
Then there is the fact that 'American English' and what I suppose I'll call 'Australian English' (Normal English? UK English?); for lack of a better term, spell a number of things differently. Some common examples would be mum - mom, colour - color, realise - realize. Now, I'm not saying most readers don't know that. But sometimes I wonder if some of the readers aren't referring to these sorts of words when it comes to some of my spelling.
Now I freely admit that grammar is not, nor will it ever be my friend. But on the other hand, if you notice a misspelling I haven't already gone back and fixed, or maybe something big grammar-wise. Feel free to message me. I don't mind going back and fixing it. In fact, I like it because then my story looks better and I might learn something new and remember it for later. And yes, I do use spell check, but if in my tiredness I've written the wrong word, but it is spelt right, it's not going to pick it up a large percent of the time. And yes, I know I could use a beta (need one), but sadly I have yet to find one. So it is what it is.
I really hope this clears things up for those newer readers to my stories. It really does get tiring...

I AM THE GIRL
I am the girl that doesn't go to school dances, or games, and when I do go, I sit in a corner and read a book. I am the girl that people look through when I say something. I am the girl that spends most of her free time reading, writing, or doing other activities that most teenagers wouldn't call normal. I am the girl that people call weird and a freak either behind my back or to my face. I am the girl that doesn't spend all her time on MySpace, Twitter, Facebook because i just don't see the appeal. I am the girl that hasn't been asked out in a year. I am the girl that has stopped to smell the flowers and jump and splash in the rain. BUT I am also the girl who knows and is proud to be who she is, doesn’t care if people call her weird (it's a compliment),who loves reading and writing and doing the things that no one else seems to have the time to do any more, who loves and is obsessed with Harry Potter, who can express herself better with words than actions, who doesn't need a guy to complete her (yet it would be nice) and knows the importance of the little things.
