Frau and I are working on a story I wrote back in November during NaNoWrMo. We have been editing and polishing the story as we go. It was almost completed in NaNoWr so thankfully, we aren't writing from scratch. The reviews are an interesting mix to say the least.
In chapter 20, we offered a cookie for those that recognized the quote used and didn't realize the chaos we let loose. So instead of mailing out a ton of cookies, here is my favorite cookie recipe:
Seven Layer Candy (or the way I make it "Many Layer Candy")
Equipment: 1 fork, 1 9"x13" baking dish, 1c. measuring cup
Melt a half stick of butter in the measuring cup in the microwave
In the baking dish add the following:
1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
2 tablespoon of sugar
pour in the melted butter.
mix and flatten evenly into a crust as the first layer in the baking dish
Next add layers, in any order you like and as much as you like. Make sure every layer is spread evenly. However this is what I use:
1 large handful of shredded coconut spread over the graham cracker crust
1 large handful of cocolate chips (doesn't matter if you use dark or light. I use both)
" " " of butterscotch chips
" " " of peanut butter chips
Different kinds of chips can be added as layers as well. You can have as many layers as you want as long as the dish can handle it.
Next drizzle 1 can of evaporated milk over the chips covering all of the surface. Do not use condense milk, it won't work. Eagle Brand is the best but there are cheaper brands.
Bake in a low heated oven (about 325 degree F) for about 25 minutes. Let cool for about 15 minutes. Cut into bars. Don't cut fresh out of the oven as you will have a mess and don't wait until completely cool or you will not be able to.
Expensive but very good.
All stories will be updated and finished except for Cherry Tree. I can't seem to work my mind around the story. le sigh --GF

My father, age 83, was killed in an auto accident and my mother who had been a passenger was severely injured. She's 78. I will miss him but I know he is in a better place.
