Author has written 3 stories for Pokémon. Passion and Mindlessness is something I've been thinking of ever since I played X. I was re-imagining the whole thing with developed characters instead of the shallow canon ones, but it still followed the plot - and I was doing it while I played! So I figured, might as well write it out and practice my writing. Refinery is a navalgazing trainer fic that I find frustrating to write and rewarding to imagine. There's a lot to it, even if it doesn't seem like it, and I'm constantly thinking on how to improve showing those things without making it a boring read. It's dear to me after reading dozens and dozens of trainer stories, because Refinery is my exercise in analyzing the common tropes and playing with them. Playing With Fire is a world I imagined when I tried to apply western conventions to Pokemon. I liked it enough to write it and keep thinking about other vignettes in that world, although obviously detached stories about original characters in an AU will gain little attention. Generally, I like reading more than writing, but that's more true when the writing is technically sound. Mostly I make excuses, like the one about how reading is improving my writing so I don't need to write. But I like writing as much as reviewing. I can't think of any way to encompass what I like reading just by describing it, but I like fantasy and smart stories (how pretentious!) and at times mystery. |
