Hello. Welcome to my profile. You can refer to me as Fluke. I'm currently 31 years of age and have been a part of this site since 2006, which makes that around 16 years now. My writing has improved a lot since my first published story in 2007, so I'm a bit embarrassed when I read over my old works. But I won't remove them purely for progresses sake. To remind myself how far I've come. Also because there might be someone out there who actually quite likes it. Writing is a bit harder for me than it used to be. With more skill in a certain hobby, the more the perfectionism tends to show. And the more it tends to hold me back. I often spend hours and days writing outlines for stories I plan to write, but in the end never post a chapter of. Usually this is because I get stuck on how I want to end a story. Unfinished stories have always been my biggest pet peeve with my own writing and it's something I still struggle with. On top of that, ADHD makes it hard for me to focus on writing for more than half an hour. I usually flounder between writing and watching videos or playing games. It's unconventional, but the switching between interests tends to help me write the most. It helps me from burning myself out. But besides my love-hate relationship with writing, it's still one of my biggest enjoyments in life. I love creating and sharing worlds and stories and characters that dance around in my imagination. I love constantly practicing to improve my style of writing as well. When I write, I want to send you to a world that you can see and feel as you read, that you can get lost in to forget about anything that may be troubling you in your life. That has always been what I loved about reading the most; the fact that I could experience happiness and joy in a characters achievements and adventures even while my own life may prevent me from finding those emotions on my own. So it's always has been and will always be my goal to give my readers the same feeling. So while I my updates may be sporadic, they will continue to happen. My stories are never truly discontinued, but just waiting in limbo until a mind comes to pick it up. Or until I have time to sit down and write without stress blocking my creativity. So thank you for reading my stories, and thank you even more if you felt compelled enough to leave a review. While I do not, nor ever want to pressure anyone into reviewing, it is a nice treat to come home to and read at the end of a long day. So I adore everyone of you who takes the time to do so. Thank you for reading and I hope you continue to stick around for any future updates. Fandoms I love writing for: Harry Potter Inuyasha Mass Effect Naruto Jujutsu Kaisen My Hero Academia (I may occasionally write for other fandoms, but I tend to always fall back on those four.) Genres and Ratings: One thing I have noticed about the differences between FanFicion dot net and archiveofourown dot org is the style of writing. Fanfiction, from what I have noticed, is more heavily focused on sorting by fandom and genre. This subtly influences writers of this site to write focused on a style of genre. Put in a simpler way, you will more likely find stories written in a novel style fashion. Archiveofourown, on the other hand, I find is more prone to sorting stories by tags. While it may be easier to find exactly what you want, it is more prone to short stories focused on one or two of those tags. Simply put, you will find more oneshots and drabbles instead of novel length fanfiction. So while FanFiction may be a bit old fashioned and not as free in it's guidelines on what is okay to write on this site, it is my preferred site. I am not the type of writer who has an interest in highly sexual writing. I am more interested in character development and relationships than the act of sexual activities anyway. Which archiveofourown is more widely known for. If you want explicit fanfiction, this is not the page for you. While I do love writing scenes between characters being sexually active, it will never be in a way that is quite so explicit. Less is more, in my opinion. Almost all of my stories will be rated mature. As I intend to write mature themes. But never explicit. Perhaps I'm too old fashioned, but I prefer more depth to my stories than just a smut one-shot. Not that I'm putting down anyone who does write that. There is a place and need for those stories who want them. It's just not my own style. |
