Oh Fanfiction.Net, what a torrid affair we have!
If you are reading my profile in interest of me, please continue reading. If you are more interested in the fanfiction I have written or plan on writing skip to the appropriate section!
I’ve written since I was a child, like most authors’ here. My first Fanfiction was in fourth grade, I had a Lisa Frank folder of a pony and a dog on it. I wrote a story of their journey together in an identical notebook. Since then, I’ve written fanfictions based off of movies, books, and comics that I read growing up. Often placing my own characters in the setting or taking the characters the way I wanted. I never really understood Fanfiction until I picked up a Harry Potter book and was unsatisfied with having to wait for the next book. I was 13 years old and I happened upon an angelfire site dedicated to a Fanfiction author’s original character and Draco Malfoy. Eventually it led me to this site which I’ve been a loyal reviewer and at one point, an author, to this day.
When I graduated high school, I went off to the Army, eventually the Air Force, then returned home to sweep my high school sweetheart off his feet - done with the life of a soldier and determined to be a successful civilian.
I am a college student (still, sigh) and just got married last summer. My life is studying, books, and part time jobs with a side of social life.
In regards to fanfiction, the desire is there however I lack the drive to actually sit down and work on it. I have dozens of notes and outlines for works that I wish to someday write, though I find my passion fizzles when I sit down to work things out. Unfortunately it’s been an ailment that I’ve suffered for years. My husband whole family urges me to write and I’m slowly working in time in my schedule to dedicate solely to writing.
Most of my Harry Potter works are officially retired. Those were written while I attended high school and while I followed the series to its bitter end, I feel that because I’ve read the end of the series (and not really liked how it went) it has also subsequently ended my muse for those stories.
Yes I did write up sequels and rewrites for most of my stories, but I find frustration working in Alternate Universe (which JK inevitably led me to with my works) with the setting and characters. I have retired those stories – for good – and will instead focus on other ‘verses that don’t bring on so much heartache. Perhaps those unfinished sequels and rewrites will be published, but as of now they will remain in the archives.
Fanfiction that I have a desire to write involves:
Game of Thrones
Dragon Age Series
Howl’s Moving Castle
Final Fantasy X & X-2
Calvin and Hobbes
Percy Jackson Series
