Hmmm, Let's see...Firstly, I JUST LOVE THIS SITE! I've been around for over a two years now and I've seen lots of wonderful writings. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE and ADMIRE CREATIVITY!
My favorite show is "Bones"--well of course! I also enjoy Law and Order SVU and C.I, House, The Closer, Burn Notice. Of course I'm forever a die hard BTVS and ATS fan!! I think David Boreanaz, James Marsters, Christopher Meloni and Jeffrey Donovan(Burn Notice) are just about the sexiest men alive
I'm NOT a writer--thought about it many times and even have a few story files stashed in memory here and there. However, I love to read here, as well as several other sites. I love to beta!(although I've not had time to do much of it lately) I've lent many a hand in Beta-land in the past. On occasion I've even offered my services to authors who's work is very intriguing and sometimes just by being beta'd makes all the difference. For a reader, in my opinion, there is NOTHING more distracting than reading a good or great story with lots of typo's or grammar faux pas!
One thing I've learned here at the site is to be 'culturally forgiving' so to speak! This site being multi-cultural, NOT everyone uses the same grammar techniques or spells words the same. So in the name of CREATIVITY there are some things one HAS to overlook. I get truly frustrated when I see a review that flames an author for their spelling or word usage when it's only because they are not using it in the U.S. English form. I've had many a good chuckle with my author buddies in other countries because of word usage and spelling only because of a cultural difference! So with that said...Be open minded and let creativity ring in all forms, but puhleeezzzz proof read! LOL!! I mean there is no cultural difference between "He was in deep though" which really should of been, "He was in deep thought". There IS cultural difference between "favorite" AND "favourite" OR "behavior" AND "behaviour". RANT done. : D
I enjoy well written work, mostly "T" & "M" rated, but will venture into other ratings and have found some rather good fics in the K/K area. I mostly read the Romance/Fluff fics and will include Romance/Dram/Angst and always slip in a good Humor fic if there is one. I LOVE a good "M" rated fic--with and without a plot! and encourage anyone who can write "M" material well! It takes talent to write good erotica and if you can do it...GO FOR IT!
I have an extremely hard time with (main) character death, even if it's set in the future. I've only read a few and have barely gotten through them! So if you write dark fic with character death, don't expect too much from me! I have many "favorite authors" marked, but have a favorite top ten list--They know who they are, or at least they should, wink, wink!
Also check out one of my other favorite places in the Bones Community on the ff site for One-Shot fics. It's a 'Community' dedicated to worthy one-shots/series of one-shots of our favorite couple. We're building it up now so if we've missed one you feel is worthy, drop me or one of the other staff (Bella-mi-amore, avaleighfitzgerald, azarathangel, jemb). I also encourage writers to enter the other fic challenges on the Anti-BoneYard-- www.theaby.org (another awesome Bones site!)
See YOU in reviews, PM's and Emails!!
