I've finally finished Cacoethes, which, I must say, is my best work on FF.net. Now, I think I'm going to stop while I'm ahead. I'm taking an extended leave of absence from all fanfiction writing. College and work eat up my free time, and I would like to invest that bit of time in my original writing. I'm also in the process of turning the themes of Cacoethes into an original work.
I want to thank my my reviewers who took time to critique my work. Your comments have been essential in encouraging my fledgling confidence and improving my fledgling skills. I owe all of you so much.
One final note on reviews, to everyone whom I've left reviews for:
I love detailed reviews. I hate poor grammar. I know my reviews often come off as kind of arrogant and bitchy, but I really trying to help. Please don’t be terribly insulted, hate yourself, or hate me... just run your work through a grammar checker and proofread multiple times. It won’t hurt you, and it will greatly improve your work. Compliments are nice and I enjoy geting them, but no one ever learned anything from a compliment, and I see Fanfiction.net as a place for improving writing. So I critique. And criticize. And just hope, somewhere, that I help someone. Even if it's just with the knowledge of using commas correctly.
