Author has written 21 stories for Pride and Prejudice, Smallville, X-Men: Evolution, X-Men: The Movie, and Van Helsing.
Well what to say about me? A cynic, a critic or just deranged...um... all of the above?
I'm from England, specifically a little town in the NorthEast of Manchester (a city that's way better than London). I've been writing for a while, my stories like my taste are wild and disjointed.
I love Jane Austen and Pride and Prejudice especially, my Austen fanfic is based primarily on Darcy and Lizzy. Other fave classic authors include, Jane Eyre, Checkov, Tolstoy, Collins and a whole lot more. I also have a thing for sci-fi, animation and comics. My characterisations are inherently dark, I'm a big fan of angst, so if you read any of my stories you have been warned.
My fave characters to write are dark, complex creatures, Lex Luthor, Rogue and Gambit and even dark original characters. I'm not a big fan of corny, cliched happy endings, I like a touch of realism with my fancfic. Happy endings I can do, but not melodramatic, OTT gushingly romantic ones. I find bittersweet suits my taste better. Exploring the human psyche is my thing, character motivations, mental instability, and the like.
Fave comedies include Frasier, My Name is Earl, Green Wing, The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, Malcolm in the Middle, Arrested Development and Scrubs. Fave movies include, The Godfather series (part 2 particularly), Lord Of The Rings, Snatch, The Replacement Assassins, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Kill Bill Vol 1&2, Sin City, Blade Runner and a whole host of others.
Fave TV shows include Stargate SG1, Without a Trace, and Standoff.
Fave quotes? 'Love is like an open horse drawn carriage, all sweet and romantic at first until eventually you realise you're cold, shivering and staring at an ass that craps right in front of you...'
Funny last words- 'So, you're a cannibal?
'Pull the pin and count to what?'
Fave song lyrics-
'Scars are souvenirs you never lose, the past is never far...'
'Don't it make you sad to know that life is more than who we are?'
'You grew up way too fast and now there's nothing to believe...'
-'I won't tell them your name'- The Goo Goo Dolls.
'And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming, or the moment of truth in your lies, when everything feels like the movies, yeah you bleed just to know you're alive.'
And I don't want the world to see me, 'cos I don't think that they'd understand, when everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am...'
'Iris'- The Goo Goo Dolls.
'If I lay here, if I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told, before we get too old, show me a garden that's bursting into life.'
All that I am, all that I ever was is here in your perfect eyes they're all I can see,
I don't know where, confused about the how as well..'
'Chasing Cars'- SnowPatrol
'Why can't you shoulder the blame, 'cos both my shoulders are heavy from the weight of us both...'
'let me explain something it's all down to drugs, at least I remember taking them and not alot else...'
' if the ectasy's in the wit is definitely out...'
How to be dead- SnowPatrol
Fave music/bands? Snowpatrol, Placebo, Coldplay, Embrace, Primal Scream, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Strokes, Morrisey, Green Day, The Goo Goo Dolls, Feeder Hedley...basically anything Indie, rock heavy or with down and dirty bass lines!
Things I hate? Reality TV shows, HATE, HATE, HATE, with a vengeance, God-awful, cheapest and laziest way to make any sort of programme.
Some weird facts about me, I don't own a mobile phone, never have, probably never will, hate the damn things, I have an intolerance to coffee, and I HATE shopping.
Stories I'm working on:
Ok so progress report, I have 8 stories altogether, so far, have a few plot bunnies bouncing around in my head so there may be more to come.
Both One More For the Road and The Darcy's Suffer a Tragedy were a one shot, standalone pieces, though because people have requested I may do sequels.
Directors Cut is very much ongoing as is Her Cold Cold Heart.
Shades Of Grey, well I'm stuck in a bit of a rut with this one, not sure where to take it next, any suggestions would be helpful!
Scattered Views is a fave and I'm working on Rogue's imminent defection to the dark side, My Destiny Belongs To the One Who Sets Me Free is also a work in progress but I should be introducing Gambit and various members of the Thieves and the rival Assassins Guild to that story soon.
My latest story, a Van Helsing fic, Sins Of the Inner Sanctum, is something I have great aspirations for, and am particularly happy with an original character, Ilyana Ramonovsky, who in her own words, was 'sired by the devil, and raised by a saint.'
New Progress Report- 10/12/07
Director's Cut is complete, and a great variety of reviews were received, all very much appreciated, thank you! At the moment I can't seem to find the time to write, but I'll make an effort to do so all the same. Thanks for waiting.
Still struggling to find the time to write, have officially given up on continuing with Shades Of Grey, can't seem to find anything to with it, so a change to the summary and ta da...!All done.
So come on people share the love join the review revolution, 'I Hartabound do hereby swear to review every fic I read, despite the number of reviews it may or may not already have, the length of the story or how old it is...'
Jeez, where did the months go...?
Wow, guess it must seem like I fell off the face of the earth huh...well not exactly, decided instead to go back to school, or Uni as we call it around here, so here I am, cough something cough years later doing a full time honours degree, which looks set to take up the next three years of my life. The past months have gone into focusing on preparation, sorting out my finances, telling my boss to stick his job just exactly where the sun don't shine and generally sticking up two fingers to any doubt I've had about picking up my books again.
So why am writing this, and more importantly why are you bothering to read it? I guess I owe you guys an explanation, I haven't written anything in a long while, but I promise you that there isn't a day when I don't think about sitting at the computer and tapping at the keyboard again, and hopefully soon, when I can find the time and the inspiration, I'll be back here, updating and writing again.
