Hi, the name's Ben, though I go by TheZedofAges or Zed in most online settings. I'm in my late thirties, married with children, and a massive fan of a whole bunch of nerdy things, most of all the Legend of Zelda series. I've been writing fanfiction on and off for more than twenty years, though most of my online works were published on another profile. Those stories are terrible and the less said, the better. After a few experiments throughout my adult life, in 2018, while serving working overseas and away from my home and family, I decided to give writing a shot once more.

And my novelization of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was born!

My BOTW novel was envisioned as an epic fantasy adaption of the game by the same name--to turn the game's bare bones plot and interesting, but largely unexplored characters into an exciting adventure full of twists and emotion, centered around one amnesiac man that had the weight of the world placed on his shoulders. I wrote it for myself, as an outlet for my own emotions as I longed to be home to my family, but after some friends of mine encouraged me to, I decided to share it with the Zelda fandom at large.

My story grew to far greater heights than I ever expected. At nearly 500,000 words, it was far more expansive than I'd initially planned, and the response I received has been overwhelmingly positive. People seemed to love the character development I gave Link, Zelda, and the rest of the game's expansive cast, as well as the action sequences and slow burn romance arc. It was an enormous undertaking, particularly because I managed to write it from beginning to end (not counting further editing passes I've made in the years since) in exactly nine months. And it reignited my love of writing!

Since publishing Breath of the Wild, the novel has become one of the most popular Zelda stories on , currently ranked in the #10 spot in the Zelda fandom for number of favorites. The response has been incredible, and I'm so thankful to everyone who has read it and told me their impressions!

And, in the last couple of years, I entered into a partnership with the author and audiobook creator DragonRand100 to create a fully narrated audiobook of my novel and it is currently being posted to his Youtube channel and on most podcast services! If you've listened to DragonRand100's other audiobooks, you will know that he is very proficient in using multiple voice actors for different POVs, as well as adding a lot of additional effects, such as music and other audio cues to really help draw listeners into the narration. I'm incredibly excited for the project, and I have been utterly blown away by the chapters that have already been posted! Please check it out and let us know what you think!

Oh yeah... Also, I'm writing a Tears of the Kingdom novelization. It's coming along nicely, sitting around 70,000 words as of the time of writing this, and I'm approaching the end of the first major story arc--the Rito. There isn't much else I can say about that now, and I'm not quite sure when I'll be ready to start sharing it with the community. But it's coming, and I'm crazy excited for when I can finally start publishing it.
