Author has written 7 stories for Danny Phantom.
Story Update as of 7/8/2015: To those I told I would update in April and May . . . many apologies. I know you don't want to hear excuses (Who does?) but life has been tough. Suffice it to say I was working on things, and then I got into a car accident. I'm trying to work on stuff again. I am. But progress has been slow.
For the curious, you might be able to find out more information about updates, my personal headcannons, or get sneak peeks at some of the stuff I'm working on by heading on over to my tumblr at . . . but no promises.
A couple of things have been permanently discontinued. Like Lost. And the sequels I had planned out for other fics may not happen. Just Five Minutes is my top priority on list of fics to complete. Everything else . . . sort of taking second place for now.
Hmm, what to say? I'm a twenty-something year old college graduate from New England (hooray for a useless Master's Degree in History!) and I work in a fraud department at a credit union. I love reading and writing, and I hope that someday I'll be able to get my own stories published. To be honest, though, I've been struggling with my own writing quite a bit lately, so I'm hoping that doing some fanfics will help me at least get back into the habit of writing everyday as well as provide me with an opportunity to experiment with some different writing techniques and styles. :)
What else? Well, I might as well admit that I'm a horrible nerd, although maybe that one's a given. I've got a toe in just about every geeky hobby you can think of (and even some you've likely never heard of), and now I suppose that includes fanfiction as well. Pff. I suppose I was bound to succumb someday.
My favorite author is Neal Shusterman, my favorite book (which is to say series) is The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud, my favorite character is probably Captain Janeway from Star Trek or Clockwork from Danny Phantom, and my favorite TV show . . . no idea, lol, although Danny Phantom's the only one that I've ever wanted to write fanfiction for. I mostly watch a lot of science fiction and fantasy, though, and some of those off-beat comedies like Better Off Ted and Pushing Daisies. But I think that gives you a sense for the types of stuff I like, y'know, if you happened to care. And my profile pic is of the character Death from Sandman in case you were actually wondering about that as well. (Probably not . . . )
I've read lots of Danny Phantom fanfics and I've been lurking on this site for about several years now. I'm more than happy to leave a review, so if you ever have a story that you want me to check out, then let me know. But be forewarned: I leave what are very long and very honest reviews. I give an honest critique because I want people to become better writers, and because I want people to be honest with me so that I can become a better writer in turn. So if you want me to review, I will, but remember: I'll tell you what I loved and what I hated and everything in between.
101 Oneshots: My response to MiniHayden's challenge, and it will include a variety of genres. Currently rated 'T' since I know I'll hit that line somewhere. Expect updates to come every one to two weeks, depending on life stuff. And, naturally, if you ever see one that you want to continue, feel free to do so. Just PM or mention in a review that you're going to do it, 'kay?
Just Five Minutes: In an attempt to make money, Tucker and Danny decide to charge twenty bucks for a date with Danny Phantom. The last thing they expected, however, was for Valerie to take them up on their offer, or for her to actually start to like Phantom. Slight AU. Danny x Valerie. Rated 'T' primarily for language, and definitely a romance and humor kind of fic. Response to an old challenge by ghostanimal. Admittedly not my usual style, I know, but I needed something sort of silly to make me smile.
Ten Minutes to the End: Time is running out and the key to everyone's survival rests in Jazz's hands, yet when something unexpected happens will she still have any hope of making it in time to save the ones she loves? No PP. This is no longer a one-shot. I'm currently working on it, but expect it to be a while before it updates since I'm still figuring out how I want to proceed with it.
Discontinued/Up for Adoption:
Lost: After a terrible accident in the Fenton's lab, Danny is presumed dead by his family and friends; however, it turns out that he's still alive and is now trapped within the Ghost Zone. Will Danny be able to find his way home before it's too late? This story is AU and is rated 'T.' I have the basic outline for the story written out, and it's going to be pretty long. Also, unlike with The Ghosts of a Memory, I don't have most of it pre-written and ready to edit, so expect updates to be somewhat sporadic for this one. Discontinued, primarily because I never got the original inspiration I had for it back, but up for adoption on the off chance that anyone is interested in reading it.
The Ghosts of a Memory: After missing for several weeks, Danny returns with no memory of what happened to him. Determined to find out the truth, Danny tries to uncover the mystery of his disappearance even though he risks destroying himself in the process. No PP. Rated T for what will eventually become totally obvious reasons. This is my first multiple chapter fanfic, and although it's pretty rough and a bit cliche, it has a soft spot in my heart. :)
No Exit: After crashing in the Ghost Zone, Danny, Jack, and Maddie are trapped inside the wreckage of the Specter Speeder with no way to escape . . . or so Jack and Maddie think. Revelation fic. One-shot. No PP. This is mostly just an old one-shot that I uploaded after stumbling across it on my computer one night. Not terribly original, but it was one of the first DP fanfics I ever wrote, so I've got a certain amount of fondness for it as well. ;)
Potential Future Fics:
That's the Truth: After saving the world from the Disasteroid and becoming a world famous celebrity, Danny ends up starring in a week long reality TV special. It seems like it's all in good fun, but as the show progresses secrets are revealed and shock waves go well-beyond harmless entertainment. Post-PP. Based on a fic from my one-shot collection by the same name.
A Star in the Darkness: Captured by Walker during a quest to save her lost son, Maddie Fenton is forced to work alongside a strange ghost named Phantom to escape the prison and continue her mission. But will this ghost help Maddie find her son or ultimately destroy what little hope she has left of being reunited with the boy who went missing in the Ghost Zone nine months ago? AU. Mother/son bonding fic.
This was originally the idea behind my other fanfic, Lost, but I ultimately dropped it in favor of that fic because I couldn't get it to work and because I kind of liked the more complicated ideas I had for that one better. But lo and behold, a different start and now here I am, 40 pages into this one as I write this while Lost continues collecting virtual dust. Expect this one to start appearing in my rotation soon, since it's very much become my primary focus at the moment. Those of you reading Just Five Minutes may shake your fists accordingly, since updates for that may take a bit longer until I finish this up . . .
Oh, and the title is a definite work in progress. It just feels too sappy to me, you know?
The Runaway: After receiving his ghost powers in a terrible accident, Danny Fenton runs away from home and finds himself on the doorstep of an all-too familiar billionaire. Vlad is more than willing to assist the boy; however, when it comes time for a certain reunion, it may turn out that the billionaire wants something from Danny in return after all. Plot bunny adopted from Jeanette9a. AU. No slash.
What Is and What Should Never Be: Ever wonder what would happen if Danny told his parents the truth right away? If he was captured by the GiW, if he and Valerie hadn't broken it off, or if the accident at Wisconsin University had gone yet another way? This fic explores the infinite possibilities and realities that could have and sometimes would have existed if not for a certain Master of Time . . . and why Clockwork ultimately decided that none of these futures was the one that the world needed the most. Extreme AU . . . yet not. Response to a challenge from WingsofTech.
And a virtual cookie for you if you know where I got the title for this one from. It's not that difficult a reference, I think. ;)
