Author has written 17 stories for CSI: Miami, NYPD Blue, NCIS, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Musketeers, and Mentalist. If you're reading this, I guess you either like my stories or, like me most of the time, are distracting yourself from real life and actual work. Either is good. It's been a long time, so this is probably due an update. For anyone wondering over the pen name, Lakshmibai was a 19th century Indian maharani who led a rebellion against the British Empire. She lost, but hey...from what I read, she seemed like a strong, capable character. As you can probably tell, I had a minor (all right, major) obsession with CSI Miami, and this led to way too many plot bunnies, which in the end threatened to overwhelm me unless I started writing them down. I stuck with the show for about seven years but in the end, the truly ridiculous plotlines (the secret son, the dead wife, the faked murders, the major international gang that couldn't kill one man...) put me off and I had to find other things to obsess about. I also love NCIS, although I read more fics than I write for this fandom. I've also tried some Mentalist and Buffy crossover, but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to attempt a serious work of Buffy fiction. The Mentalist was another show that I adored for a short period, but there's only so long that Red John could keep getting away with it and I found the overarching conspiracy thing a bit hard to swallow. My aim, one day, is to actually have the courage to attempt some Discworld or Wheel of Time fanfiction. I adore both of these series with a passion that annoys my friends and worries my family. However, both are so brilliant, in their own very different ways, that I feel far too daunted to write any fics myself. I bow down to those who have the courage to write stories here, after all imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so we are told. And now there's the Musketeers - a fun-filled romp through the streets of 1630s Paris, with some of the best looking men ever to don a sword... Even if one review I read of the show is fairly accurate and it does have a tendency to end up as CSI: Renaissance Paris, it's been perfect Sunday night viewing. One final thought: reviews make me happy. Deliriously so. So, please let me know what you think, if you read anything by me. |
