Author has written 2 stories for Stargate: Atlantis, and Avatar: Last Airbender.
Me - a 24 years old German student of Classical Sinology. First part means I'm too old to act like a teenager (which I occasionally do) second part means YEAH I'm not a native speaker so forgive anything amiss with grammar or spelling and third part means I'll be out of work after finishing my Magister degree. Which is years into the future the way I go about it, anyway. (And the ugly avatar has following sad story: that's me on a fantasy con. Then the picture had a terrible accident including me, the GIMP 2.2 and too much time. And then I complained about not liking my own written stuff anymore on some board and suddenly someone 'gave' me those pink shades. It's hideous. But I keep it 'cause it shows people care about me and my writing enough to make such stupid things...)
I love language. My own (although it's a bit tricky making a complex and actually pretty ugly language like German resemble anything close to beautiful, I try my best with huge amounts of original writing), English (well, duh...), French, Russian, my broken Japanese and not-as-broken Mandarin and MOST OF ALL anything dead. Like Latin. Or Classical Chinese. Really, anyone ever read Confucius? Well, DON'T cause it's probably the most boring stuff in the world next to manuals. Read Zhuangzi - if that guy didn't do drugs I'm a Jehova's Witness. Good writing, though, and the most beautiful usage of the Classical Chinese I've ever translated. Apart from the Nine Songs of the Chuci maybe.
Now: stuff you might understand. I'm a writer (obviously) out of the pure need to get things out of my head. If you read German, go google 'Weltenbastler' and scan across the huge threads of a 'Mara' on their board quickly to see I'm serious when I say I write a LOT, although most stuff on there is purely creating my fantasy and SciFi worlds, but I tend to do that in short stories and drabbles, anyway.
When I started writing fanfic in English I started with SGA - no or at least little research for the states and a huge universe to bring in a lot of my own ideas. Unfortunately I dropped both the story and my beta, bluetoads, for several reasons that I don't really understand myself, for the reviews were not many but at least pretty positive. A combination of writer's block, procrastination, university and lots of different interests and jobs including sewing historical costumes and organizing a monthly roleplaying event in my hometown with 40 people bitching at me and my co-workers about everything imaginable.
But... I'm back. A small interlude with an Avatar oneshot and now I've started working on The Once and Future King again. Anyone interested in how a student with archaeology and anthropology would do a superficial description of indigenous cultures somewhere in the Pegasus galaxy - I've tried to add some plot and action to go with the whole thing and the feedback so far says the mixture is interesting enough to read.
