Your stories become real, living, flesh and blood things to many people. I was an invalid for a time, and fan fiction got me through a lot of lonely depressing times. You can make a real difference to many people. When you disappear and leave a story dangling out there, it is distressing. For those of you who may have stumbled across some HP stories, and are wondering "What the Hell is Tomione?" Well, let me educate you. Tomione, is the Tom Riddle/Hermione pairing in the world of Harry Potter Fanfic. I know, I know, Tom Riddle is a crazy psycho killing nut-job hell bent on murder and destruction of people...but, I think in a weird twisted way, had circumstances and the time-space continum been different, they would have made a great power couple. Think about it; Tom is super intelligent (well, was before he resurrected himself) kind of like Hermione. He is extremely powerful (magically), which is alluring, not to mention that he is described in the books as having been extremely handsome in his youth (again, before being resurrected into a snake-faced monstrosity.) There is also the good girl-bad boy thing, which is impossible to resist. I mean, if I wanted bore myself to death, I could find stories about her hooking up with Neville...*barf*. Tomione gives sort of an interesting dynamic to the HP universe. Something new and thrilling to read about.

Many of the Tomione stories out there are redemption type stories, where Hermione uses the time turner to go back in time to *fill in the blank*(save James and Lily? Kill Tom Riddle before be can become Voldemort?) but instead develops this love/hate angsty drama-filled relationship with a boy who never learned how to love. Or, sometimes, there are dark Tomione stories, where he corrupts her and brings out the darkness already within her. And then there are the AU's, which I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. This is when the characters are taken completely out of the context of the magical world (usually) and placed in some other situation (i.e., Muggle boarding school, University, or in my case, making Voldemort the frontman of an Industrial rock band with legions of fans known as "Death Eaters")... the AU's are the best, in my opinion.
