![]() Author has written 20 stories for Harry Potter, Dark, and Legend of Zelda. NOTE: Update: 28-12-2024 Hi there. Hope you had a good Christmas, or whatever you might celebrate. Or maybe it was just Wednesday. I hope it was a solid Wednesday. As part of an event hosted in the Harry/Daphne Discord server this month, I have written a new one-shot (posted earlier this week, both here and on AO3) titled Victorious, which tells a short story about friendship, betrayal, and romance on the field of battle. Mind you, the battle is a snowball fight, amongst teenagers, at Hogwarts. It's probably my first real attempt at a Humor/Romance fic and I'm quite happy with it. You might like it, too. It might even throw a couple of surprises at you that you didn't expect. dun, dun, dun... Anyway, if I can manage to transition this into additional works in the winter months to come, I'll damn well do my best to, but we'll see how it goes. I have not written much else since I posted my last fic in June, but I wrote and edited Victorious in two days, so anything could happen, really. That's about it. See you in 2025. (Good Lord, we're halfway through this decade...) My works in progress remain in progress unless otherwise specified, the Negligentia trilogy remains a trilogy, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the other eleven remain complete. Take care, everyone. Update: 13-06-2024 Hello again. A couple of things to update on. As I mentioned in my previous update, I completed a fic several months ago and forgot to post it here on FFN. It's posted now: Reconciliet, which briefly explores the direction Negligentia doesn't take. It's a short story, separate from Negligentia and with no plans for a continuation, and while it's not my favourite fic I've written, perhaps you'll enjoy it. Or perhaps not. I have also posted a new story that I just finished recently - as in, within the last hour as of this update. I mentioned the TV show Dark in an update last year, when I was promoting my first fic written for the series. This is my second fic, titled Under My Skin, which follows the character of Adam. I still don't want to spoil the show for anyone, because it's genuinely a great show and also very easy to spoil, so I'll leave it at that. That's it from me. I hope to continue at least with Qualms sometime later this year. We'll see what happens. My works in progress remain in progress, the Negligentia trilogy remains a trilogy, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the other ten remain complete. Take care, everyone. Update: 02-02-2024 Salut. I have to admit, I didn't really do much of anything as far as writing goes since my last update, at least, not until about November. Since November, I have started two new fics, one of which is complete and I completely forgot to post here on FFN, and continued a third. The completed one is on AO3. Maybe I'll bring it over here at some point. The uncompleted new fic is a continuation of my Theo Nott one-shot from last February. Like that fic, it has a backwards name I thought neat and fitting with a theme, so here in the profile I will simply call it Erised 2. It continues to follow Theo, picking up this time in his fifth year. If you're one of the many few people who read the last one, perhaps you'll enjoy this one as well. Last but not least is the third chapter of Qualms, at kind of long last. I've had - and currently still have - longer wait periods for updates, so that one is probably subjective. Hope you enjoy. My works in progress remain in progress, the Negligentia trilogy remains a trilogy for now, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the other nine remain complete. Take care, everyone. Update: 12-05-2023 S'up. Parallel is now complete. Well, it's been complete for a few weeks now, but yeah. It's now my longest story on here. On a site where so many writers have fics with hundreds of thousands of words, the 19k (I swear FFN added a thousand to the word count just on line breaks) fic of nine chapters seems short. As someone who grew up with novellas like Animorphs, though, it pleases me to know I can also write a short book in a month if I want to. The story of Parallel is uneven, as it was intended to be, and says everything I wanted it to say. Also new (re: few weeks ago) is Qualms, a Harry Potter chaptered fic that, so help me God, I will complete. There won't be a third chapter for a while, because my life in 2023 has been throwing curveball after curveball at me and I simply can't focus on writing right now. That having been said, I'm hoping to find the time to continue in the next couple of months, because I honestly want to write that story and see where it takes me, and I it. This is also true of Maroon Eagle. Updates for that one will remain slower - I'll try to get another chapter or two this year if I can; it was never intended to be an every three years thing - but I hope the second chapter over the winter is at least introductory evidence that it isn't discontinued just yet. Now, I've no idea if this will ultimately also be true of In Memory Of, but that one's at the bottom of my list of writing priorities. The Fleurry pairing just isn't that interesting to me. The post-war friendship between Harry and Fleur and Krum is, though, so we'll see what happens. I'll probably leave it up regardless. That's all for now. My works in progress remain in progress, the Negligentia trilogy remains a trilogy for now, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the other eight remain complete. Take care, everyone. Update: 04-04-2023 I guess I'm just regularly writing now. No idea how long this will last. I'm surprised it's been a couple of months and counting, really. My newest fic this time is also not a Harry Potter fic. I've wanted to write something for the Legend of Zelda series for a long time, and I've even got stuff dating back ten years or more still sitting on my computer, just waiting to probably never be finished. I should have figured it would take having a cool dream to start one. That's basically what Parallel is: a dream I had a while back that I transcribed and then reworked into a story. It still only makes the barest of sense, but that doesn't mean I haven't enjoyed writing it. Maybe you'll get something out of it, too. Or, maybe you won't. I dunno. It's mostly finished, unlike my other stuff: two chapters are posted, and another four are complete and just need some light editing. Then, one or two more, and boom, done. I've never had a chaptered fic before that I've actually completed. It's all very exciting. Mind you, it won't be a terribly long fic when all is said and done. Probably a similar length to Negligentia, really. My other works in progress remain in progress, the Negligentia trilogy remains a trilogy for now, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the other seven remain complete. Take care, everyone. Update: 27-03-2023 I've decided to do the impossible: post a third story in a year, which I'm pretty sure I haven't done since I was a teenager, and post a story not of the Harry Potter series. If you're not familiar with it, Dark is a Netflix show. Also, if you're not familiar with it, I would highly recommend watching it. It's three seasons, the last of which aired back in 2020, and is complete. If you're someone who hates spoilers, don't look up anything before watching it. That includes my new fic. If you are familiar with it, or just don't care about spoilers, I present to you The Old Grip of the Familiar, a one-shot about a week in the life of a young Michael Kahnwald. It was an interesting character exploration for me. How it goes as an actual story, well, you can decide that. My works in progress remain in progress, the Negligentia trilogy remains a trilogy for now, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the other six remain complete. Take care, everyone. Update: 26-02-2023 What? An update after less than a week? Perish the thought! I was in a writing mood these last few days, and while I didn't work on any of my current WIPs, I did write and finish a one-shot for a prompt that came to me a few months ago. So, now I have a Theodore Nott one-shot. If you like reading about Theo, perhaps you'll like Erised Fosnoit At Pmetkra Deht. And yes, the title is part of the reason why I even wrote the fic. If you don't like Theo, well, the number of Harry Potter fanfics on this site is closing in on a million, so you'll be fine. Since it's only been a week, that's all I've got. Hope you're still doing well. My works in progress remain in progress, the Negligentia trilogy remains a trilogy for now, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the other five remain complete. Take care, everyone. Update: 20-02-2023 Greetings and salutations. No brand new fics this time, I'm afraid. I still have thoughts on In Memory Of, but I haven't got anything to update for it yet. This time, the update is to Maroon Eagle, that fic I started three years ago (god, was 2020 three years ago?) and never continued. I can't promise speedy updates going forward, because I never do and I never will, but if you're a Ron fan who happens to like this one, consider it continued. I don't know if I'd call the new chapter my best work, but I'm satisfied, and it means I can finally stop staring at the half-finished chapter 2 and move on with Ron's first year. My thoughts on it from back then still stand: it will likely be a few chapters per year at most. I don't want to write a million word epic. I simply haven't got the time, or the dedication. But I'll do what I can with a comparatively shorter exploration fic. Hope you're all doing well. Yes, even you. In Memory Of remains in progress, the Negligentia trilogy remains a trilogy for now, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the other five remain complete. Take care, everyone. Update: 29-03-2022 Hello there. In part because it's been so long, I have posted two fics this March. One, Aeternum, is complete and will more than likely have no further continuation. The other, In Memory Of, is a renewed attempt at actually writing a chaptered fic. It won't be a particularly long fic, but, knowing myself as I do, that doesn't mean it'll be finished any time soon. Aeternum is a darker fic, so proceed accordingly. In Memory Of is and will continue to be lighter in tone. They're two very different fics, so, if you're interested, hop on over and give them a read. I hope you're having a good year. Winter's finally almost over, if you're up north as I am. That's always nice. Maroon Eagle remains in progress, the Negligentia trilogy remains a trilogy for now, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the other four remain complete. Take care, everyone. Update: 25-07-2021 In the time since my last update, it's finally occurred to me that there are Discord communities for all this, and I've joined a few. Through the Discord friends I've made along the way, it's further occurred to me that, whoa, AO3 is a thing. Somehow I never thought about it much. So, you can now find my completed fics that are part of a series over on AO3 (which means everything currently posted except TFOS and Maroon Eagle). Unfortunately, nothing to update on other than that. Sorry. Maroon Eagle remains in progress, the Negligentia trilogy remains a trilogy for now, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the other four remain complete. Take care, everyone. Update: 15-11-2020 I have removed Regaining Hope. It's been discontinued for over ten years now, I have no intention of ever returning to it, and no one ever really asks about it any more. I don't remember what direction nineteen-year-old me was hoping to take it in. If you remember it and wish to have it back, and that's a hell of an if as far as I've concerned, send me a PM. Maroon Eagle remains in progress, the Negligentia trilogy remains a trilogy for now, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the other four remain complete. Take care, everyone. Update: 30-10-2020 Hope you're all still doing all right, despite, well. I promise I haven't forgotten about my newest story. This year has been, for obvious reasons, quite a change. As such, any writing focus I have for the foreseeable future will be on Maroon Eagle. It's still going to be slow, though, because I've been as miserable and irritable all year as I'm sure many of you have, and that doesn't lend itself to the standard of writing I hold myself to. I have something of a start to a second chapter at this time but that's about it. Probably I'll wait until the winter at this point; the weather will suck and I'll be stuck inside more than I already am. I might also do a one-shot or two, because I've had ideas bounce around in my head lately. Already have one idea for a short parody. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, thank you all for your feedback on Maroon Eagle. I'm glad you've enjoyed the premise so far. I probably won't be spending more than a few chapters on each year of Hogwarts, with the chapters being either longer or more numerous as we go into later years. As you've likely guessed, it'll be similar to canon at the start and will differ more and more over time. Regaining Hope remains discontinued, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the others remain complete. Take care, everyone. Update: 31-05-2020 Hello. Been a while since I've updated. I'd ask how the year is going for you all, but, well. I said last summer that I was considering a story about Ron, and after almost a year of occasionally sitting down and coming up with ideas for one, and even more occasionally actually writing, I've finally got a chapter out for it. So, if you like Ron, go give Maroon Eagle a read. If you don't like Ron, well, I don't know what to tell you. I've been told my Negligentia stories are rather good, so maybe go read those. Speaking of, I haven't forgotten about my Negligentia series. I know I'd like to write a full story that follows the three stories I've written so far. I've left a lot to explore, I think. I've decided on a start, an end, and various bits in between, but I need them to make narrative sense, so that will be a while yet. Regaining Hope remains discontinued, the open invitation for anyone who wants to continue where Past and Present left off remains open, and the other four remain complete. Take care, everyone. |
