The Superior Critic Strikes Again!
Hi, I'm the Superior Critic, which is my penname here at Fanfiction.net. I'm not going to tell you my real name or my age or gender, because then one of you idiots out there might claim that my reviews are biased. And let's face it, if I was a sixteen-year-old girl addicted to Desperate Housewives, you wouldn't take my reviews all too seriously, nor would you do the same if I disclosed that I'm a 40-year-old unemployed man that lives with his parents and reads fan fiction all day long. See my point?
Reviewing stories is what I do here. I'm not a fic writer, and never will be; call me an editor of sorts. Most of the time, I point out your mistakes. I give credit where credit is due, though the majority of you are due for a wakeup call. But on that rare occasion I find a story worth the read, I praise it lavishly, because let's face it kids, most of you suck. I've a got major stick in my side about grammar - is everyone really lazy enough not to run Spell Check? Hello! We have computer programs that do it for you, but people are still posting up "shhe sed ' no he dosent no hte tutrh. n eh sedd yes1!" (Translation: "She said 'No, he doesn't know the truth,' and he said 'Yes!'".)
So, folks, that's me. I review the stories, and if I say it's good, trust me, you picked a winner. My favorite stories are the ones written for Gilmore Girls, C.S. Lewis, Everwood, and Star Wars, but I'm definitely not limited on reviewing only those. At the moment, I've been sorting through the Supernatural branch of our fair site. Collectively, I've seen more disturbing things than what Sam and Dean have to deal with. Not that there aren't exceptions, but if I see another "Wincest" I'm going to break out the literary elements and grammar devices.
My latest project is The Idealist, a longtime friend of mine and recent subscriber to the site. Check out the profile, I won't say any more and spoil it for you. Allow me to say that Fanfiction.net, your world is about to be rocked. I just hope the man won't keep the ideals down. I'm also working on a C2 or two, and those will be up sometime this spring.Keep an eye out for the Critic that actually knows what they're talking about. Message me if you like what I do, or even more fun, if you don't like what I've got to say. And no, don't even go there. I absolutely will not beta for you. I have zero respect for people that can't edit their own stuff. Keep trying, kids.
