![]() Author has written 191 stories for SWAT Kats, Top Cat, Harry Potter, Dresden Files, Loonatics Unleashed, CSI, A-Team, Tale Spin, Eureka, Misc. Tv Shows, X-Men, Book X-overs, Criminal Minds, and Fantastic Four. I've always been interested in writing, but until I wrote Life Changes, I'd only written story starts in my memo books and dreamed but thanks to one of my children's friends, I was encouraged to actually write a story from start to finish and post it. That was the start of my writing career ... of fanfiction anyway. As many can tell from reading my work, my favorite character is Commander Ulysses Feral from the show SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron. I always felt he got short shrift on the show so I set out to write him in just about every situation I could think of. Thanks to me, there's now over a hundred fics dedicated to him and to my surprise I received an award in 2013 for being the most prolific writer by my fellow SWAT Kat writers. Yeah! Have written nearly 200 stories. Lots of them SWAT Kats, one naughty Top Cat, m/m Eureka piece, an Anita Blake/Potter crossover, a smattering of original pieces, and lots of non-fiction rants, opinions, and true life stories. Most of them not posted here can be found on WWOMB and DA. PERSONAL INFO: Retired from USAF after 20 yrs in 1991. Owned and ran my own cat's only grooming parlor for 20 yrs, retired early 2010. Now completely retired, I write as often as my osteoarthritis in my hands will let me. I spend time improving my writing skills and joined a local writer's group. Have three daughters all in college. Putting present home on market to move to a quieter neighborhood this year (2015). Eventually, I want to publish an original novel. My writing genre is urban fantasy. Favorite websites: Deviant Art; WWOMB (Wonderful World of Make Believe); SWAT (forum); SWAT Kats Fan Fiction Archive; Fur and Fantasy; SWAT Kats Fan Art Archive, The Multifandom MPREG Archive; Fur Affinity; Kristen's SWAT Kat Art Gallery; and The SWAT Kat Encyclopedia. I use the same avatar on all of them. PET Peeves/Dislikes - current genre of cartoons and TV programs; anime in all forms; getting old (yeah, isn't that true of a lot of us); bigoted, homophobic, and overly religious people. oooooo NANOWRIMO (National Novel Writer's Month): For those not familiar with this program, its a challenge to all writer's to try and write a novel in thirty days. Can be an original or fan fic. You begin on the 1st of Nov and try to get to 50,000 words by midnight on Nov 30th. It doesn't matter if your story isn't finished just as long as you reach 50k. Well a lot has happened since my last entry. Got my eyes fixed so I see much better but due to too many bad things happening in my family, I haven't written anything nor attended a single writer's group meeting for more than a year. sigh. Dec 2014 - Need this year to end. Too many deaths in family (aunts, uncles, sibling, cousin). Other bad luck: car broke down, had to buy new one, husband retired three years too early due to health issues, oldest daughter's engagement fell apart leaving her devastated and none of us having a good Christmas because of it. Not been writing as osteoarthritis has really restricted my typing abilities. It hurts a lot. It has truly been a terrible year for us. Jan 2015 - Year hasn't been too bad so far. New car is great, all debts were paid off, taxes were filed and received refund, and getting home ready to sell. Needs some painting, power washing of siding, other minor repairs before putting on market in March. Hope this goes off well and we find a cool new home. Writing still on hold. Please note: Due to the strict rules on , I plan to move all my mature work to The Wonderful World of Makebelieve's site where the use of "mature" is accepted as long as it's marked correctly. Please check my work out there for those that like my more naughty stories. The only good news for my battered spirit are all you readers who have stood by me and still enjoy my work. You are the ones who have kept my dream of writing alive. Thank you. I hope to finish all those incomplete stories very soon. Jan 2016 - Found new home in wonderful neighborhood Oct 2015. Moving in was frustrating and exhausting. Have tons of boxes to unpack and a home to set up. Took all year and into next to finally sort, sell, and store our stuff. Lots happened and I never had time for myself. I did manage to do NANOWRIMO though and actually win. Aug 2017 - Sorry to say, as another year passes, I've been unable to keep writing at all. Actually, I've ceased writing entirely except for doing NANOWRIMO. The move and endless unpacking kept me too busy then family life caused new problems that kept me away from the typewriter until, finally, issues of privacy to write were so bad due to my now non-working husband, I just gave up and my muse flew away. Since he has nothing to occupy himself, he's always in my business and wont honor my need for space to write. Sigh. That is how things have been and I don't see them ending anytime soon. I miss my Writer's Group that has finally been forced to let me go due to lack of attendance, all my friends on line have not heard from me in yrs now, and I feel all I do now is take care of house and family but have no spirit left to enjoy the things I used to do (photography, drawing, writing). So I'm frozen in time, longing for what I've lost and stuck by my own inertia. Only true bright spot is all my lovely readers out there who still love to read and comment on my work. With this next NANOWRIMO fast approaching mayhaps my muse will return and stay. With all my open stories and readers pleading for me to finish them I can only hope my issues will pass and I can once more write for the joy of it. We'll see. July 2018 - Well another year nearly gone and I still haven't written anything nor have I been on any of my favorite sites. However, unlike last year which I basically fell off the track both artistically and with my health, I've begun my climb back to normal. I've changed my diet habits and exercise every day and am showing some progress in weight loss. Have at least 49 pds to lose before I reach my healthy goal. I've reached the age of Medicare and have chosen to collect my social security a year early this makes our finances a bit better. And, lastly, I've ordered a small tablet/laptop that will allow me to write anywhere I chose to regain my privacy so I may get back into writing again. We'll see how it goes for me by end of year. Wish me luck. And thank you, thank, you to all my fans who have not forgotten me and to all the new ones who read my stories. You are the reason I keep trying. Dec 2019 - Not much to say except marriage is falling apart though divorce is not in the cards. I still work to keep myself healthy and found something to help my battered spirit. I go to the YMCA now for water aerobics which has helped keep my arthritis from stiffening me up. Added to the aerobics is the one thing that keeps me happy and going to the Y and that is water volleyball. It is strictly for fun and boy do we have lots of fun. My writing still hasn't picked up but at least I did a fantastic NANO this year. No hiccups and no slow periods. I was actually done a week ahead of the deadline. Great way to end the year. Nov 2020 - I guess I don't need to tell anyone about how bad this year has been what with COVID-19 (no one has gotten in my family, thankfully), and a truly shitty president. Add to that this being an election year with a president who is already saying he wont leave even if he loses, is not helping me with being positive at all at where our country is going. God! How bad this year has gotten. It has made me so depressed and anxious that I'm not looking forward to NANO this year. It doesn't help that the Y is closed for the pool activity especially water volleyball. I'm stiff, unhappy, and going stir crazy with a whining husband to deal with. Hope I can overcome even though I'm not even ready this year. Will try and push on and win again. We'll see. So many deadlines are looming, the election and NANO. Sigh. |
