So yeah, I finally caved in and got myself an avatar. I really dislike how it pushes all my text to the side. But on the other hand, I like trees. They're green, and make oxygen I can breathe. Pretty neat, right? In fact, I'm going to talk a little bit more about how I love the big vegetative lugs, how they're vital to the environment, and how they're totally better than cacti (although those are rather awesome in their own right). Not because it's necessary, but because that way I get more text on the page. Text that will fix the way my profile layout has been slightly skewed since they enlarged the size of our avatars recently. Now... A profile!
I'm oddly proud that most of you who voted in my boredom-spawned "favorite drink" poll picked tea. Good show all! And to the one, amazing soul who answered "The juice that leaked out of my steak onto the plate": You're brilliant, just brilliant!
If you have an idea for a story, ficlet, oneshot, drabble, ect., send me a PM. If I think I can do something with it, I will, and you who requested it will of course get to see the finished product. It's a win-win situation. I'll take any suggestion you can dish out. I may not act on it, or I may warp it until it's nigh-unrecognizable, but chances are I'll write it in some form or incorporate the idea into another story. Get thinking folks!
As for beta reading and such: I've got a relatively full plate right now so I'll be unable to take on new requests for the time being. Sorry, but real life, sadly, must come first. (If I'm already, as of 9-25-08, beta-ing your work, don't worry about this. Proceed as usual!)
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to get more tea. Later!
1) I usually decide not to add disclaimers. Sometimes I write silly stuff in their place. But I'm sure you all know by now that I don't own any of the characters/places/things/whatnot in my stories. If I did it wouldn't be fan fiction, would it now? The only thing of any value to me is the idea of the fic and that is mine.
2) I value spelling, proper grammar, and precise vocabulary. If I've screwed something up, or made an utterly humiliating error, tell me! Point it out to me so I can fix it. I don't want any stupid mistakes lingering around in my work.
3) Like all of us, I enjoy reviews and feedback. So please, don't be a piker and review. (Note: When I say "review" I don't mean "tell me how awesome I am." I wouldn't mind hearing that of course, but I'm asking for an honest opinion and critique. After all, how can I grow as a writer without the occasional dose of critique?) Drop me a line even if you don't like the story. I'm reasonable, tell me why it displeases you so and I'll keep your views in mind. I'm a writer who actually listens to reviews and uses them to improve. Just to let you know.
4) All right, I've been asked about it and I would like to state, officially and for the record: My pen name is "Twilight" Scribe, yes, but I'm NOT named after the Twilight series. Stop asking. Please. I'm named after the time of day because those are my favorite few hours and also when I do most of my writing. No vampires (sparkly or otherwise) or werewolves are involved.
