Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter.
A note from TabbyBri, co-author and daughter of this writer. I've been bugging my mother for weeks to update this profile, and today she sent me this saying to put up instead.
"This author has not recently updated their profile. They might or might not get around to it sometime."
Sigh. I tried.
My name is Kim and I’m old enough to know better and young enough not to care. Or does not caring come with age? Hm, now that I think about it, it surely does.
I was shopping at Wal-Mart at midnight one night, long ago, when I found a crowd of about 20 people hanging around the books. Intrigued, I checked to see what was going on. Turns out they were waiting for the third installment of Harry Potter’s adventures. Knowing that nothing would draw a crowd were it not well written, I grabbed the first three books on my way to the checkout that night. And an obsession was born.
My daughter was 4 back then, her siblings quite a bit older. But it’s this daughter who listened carefully as I read the books aloud to them. Her addiction was born, as well.
A few years ago we discovered “Fan Fiction”. Who knew? People actually took stories that belonged to someone else and made them their own? How unbelievably rude! But the wait between books was so long and the need to see one character, who shall remain nameless, to see one young boy, also nameless, for who he really is rather than seeing him through his very jaded, bitter eyes, made Fan Fiction a viable alternative to JK Rowling’s originals.
Then I read somewhere that it was a rule that everyone had to write their own Snape adopts Harry story, and never being one to break the rules (cough cough), excuse me…ahem…never being one to break the rules, I decided I’d better comply.
I wrote, but the efforts were honestly pathetic. My lovely Beta, Kristeh, kept pushing me not to give up on my stories, but I just couldn’t get them right and was discouraged. Enter that previously four year old child. She took over the organization. She took over the editing. She added oodles to the plot. She took over all but the words that flow, admittedly often awkwardly, from my keyboard. That’s when TabbyBri, now old enough to help, became my co author. She’s even writing her own Lion King stories. Check it out. She needs love and reviews.
Only one of my efforts is here so far. The other needs a major overhaul. We do hope you enjoy our story.
