I'm go by ThePenandtheSword on both here and deviantART, but if that's too much of a mouthful, I go by Ella now, too. I think it's obvious I'm female and from the southern portion of the United States. I've been writing fanfics since before I knew they had a name, like to draw, make videos, watch anime/old cartoons (pre-2005) and play video games. I prefer to write adventure or horror stories. Suspense, battle scenes and humor are my forte; writing any form of romance is not, as we've all seen.
By current biggest motivation, apart from my reviewers? Listening to manwithoutabody's dramatic reading of "My Inner Life." It managed to get the lead out of me and undo about, oh, three years of procrastination in revising "Matters of the Heart" so it won't sound even remotely like that horrible, disgraceful excuse for an M-rated fanfiction. I don't make a habit to troll but...good grief...when something motivates you to rewrite/finish a previously 59-chaptered fic in order to make it sound nothing like that, IT'S BAD!!! Poor excuse for even a Mary Sue character! GAH!

Okay, everyone, this update is pertaining to ALL stories on my account.
First off, "The Bloodline" and "Loveless in Flowerbud Village" are going to be taken down for a quick revision. Mostly, it's just to dull them down to a "T" rating (I'm sure you all can live without my shoddy attempts at saucy scenes, which are embarassing as hell for me to read--can't believe I wrote that stuff when I was younger >///
While I'll not be going "all out" with the revision, they'll be in more professional writing format than before and will keep most of the stuff you loved about them. That and, in the case of the HM64 one, I'll be doing a little bit better depiction of the urban life Jack came from (after living in a seedy area myself for a while, I can make it more realistic). Also, I'll try to make the guys sound...not as girly. But if I didn't think I couldn't make the fics sound better for you all, I wouldn't do any revision.
So, yeah, eventually, I'll actually finish those. Considering the minor edits, I'd say you'll have them back up in two weeks.
As for "Of Rings and Realms" and "Sweet Blossom of Youth", I'm taking those down TODAY. So if anyone actually liked those, you've had plenty of time to copy/paste to a document file.
"Matters of the Heart" is coming along. I've had the hardest time revising the beginning, but the rest is planned out. The story's going to be far richer in adventure and canon character exploration than before, as well as I've structured a deeper mythology surrounding elements of the world and the Three Golden Goddesses. For those of you that read the old, incomplete version, you'll have no clue what I am talking about as I hadn't intended to go as in-depth with this story originally. But despite it being an alternate timeline fic in which the Minish Cap and the Oracle games (possibly unconnected, having the Demon King Ganon never resurrected) are supposed to have occurred within a few years of each other, I have worked my ass off to put as much canon into the story while leaving enough play for having a quest centered around the third oracle Farore, with the additional element of having a gamer tossed into Hyrule.
Speaking of which...I tried to cram WAY too much tragedy and hardhsip into Brittany's past originally and gave her far too many obstacles to overcome. So I've narrowed it down, making her a complex character of the same caliber but without making her a basketcase right at the beginning. She's suffered physical as well as mental abuse, but the trauma of narrowly escaping death doesn't affect her right off the bat--it's slower, more subtle, instead of her becoming an unpredictable (and, thus, liability to the quest) before the rescue even starts (helps when you've actually dealt with people who have PTSD since I started this story). So even though she's treading lightly at the beginning, it's not until everyone is knee-deep in the action before the bigger stuff starts messing with her.
Also, regarding Farore, who the main "quest" revolves around, she's introduced as early as the second chapter (as per my draft so far) and becomes a driving force in the story early on. As well, you see a much more in-depth look at the canon characters and the cultures of the Zelda realm. In addition, as you will see, some of the characters are no longer just cool personalities, but symbolic (I don't just mean the usual Link and Zelda bit). But more on that when you actually read it.
I'm doing my best to have this completed by the end of this year.
Also, it has a new title:
"The Legend of Zelda: Book of Secrets"
Thank you all and sorry for the inconveniences.
