Author has written 99 stories for Danny Phantom, iCarly, Elder Scroll series, Borderlands, and Death Note.
Hi, I'm Nicky (previously Kaya, I decided to actually go by my real name now).
I have implemented a new list of personal rules/FAQ regarding fanfiction. It's also somewhat of a FAQ, so go ahead and read it! I even put it before my directory because I find it this important.
My Personal Fanfiction rules:
1. I never, ever write for reviews.
Writing is a passion of mine since I was four years old. While I admit, reviews DO brighten my day, I love getting them and they encourage me to update a little faster, I will NEVER discontinue a fanfiction simply because I don't get enough reviews. It discourages me, and I may put it on hiatus or slow updates because it's not generating enough interest for me to force all of my energy into it, but I will not discontinue it JUST because of reviews.
I immediately lose some respect for writers who stop updating or threaten because they feel like they don't get enough reviews. Story alerts and favorites, along with traffic, are normally great indicators on how well your story is doing as well. When people say this, I feel like that they don't care about the readers who like the story and want more, but that review number. I normally just stop reading the story when I see that and sometimes even pull the story off my favorites, and I have quite a few times, because when I read that the author is pulling that bullshit, it makes me so angry. I AM fine with, "I might make this oneshot into a full length if enough people express interest" or something along that line. I cannot stand a "people aren't reviewing enough, if I don't have X amount of reviews then I won't update."
I had to put this up because I've been seeing it a lot lately, it's especially a pattern amongst newer writers (no offense). It's one of my biggest writer pet peeves.
2. I would love to review your fanfiction/cowrite/give some advice/help you in anyway. Just PM me. As a general rule, I respond within 24 hours unless otherwise posted on my profile.
Advice and help is not just for fanfiction. If you're having personal issues and problems and just need somebody to talk to, I am completely here for anybody. I am glad to give you my email or skype or just read your PMs and listen to any of your problems and help you get through it.
As for fanfiction, I just love betareading and reviewing fanfictions. I really like to try and help writers grow like my reviewers did, and still do, me. I am not going to give you a fluffy review, I will tell you in detail how I personally think you can improve because I do think that fanfiction is a geat way to practice writing. I learned more about writing from fanfiction than any English class. I also enjoy co-writing.
For betareading information, visit my beta profile.
I'm also just open to just talking bout whatever. I reply to every message. You can contact me in any of the various ways listed under Dear Stalkers. Typically, PMs, Skype and Kik are the fastest ways to contact me however.
3. You want to accept a challenge? Go for it! No need to PM me to ask, you're welcome to just take it. Only PM me if you didn't put ghostanimal in the summary, which is completely fine.
Firstly, you're awesome for taking a challenge. I guarantee that I will read and review the challenge accepted.
I have recently began to check/stalk the newest fanfictions every day, but not the crossover ones. Anything on the challenge section is 100% complete and total fair game to all.
I'd also like to point out that the rules for the challenges and the God if I owned Danny Phantom are mostly just guidelines and suggestions. I'm not that strict with the rules. For challenges, it's mainly more specifics I'd personally like to see, but you can take it any direction you really wish. With the GIIODP challenge, as long as I can tell it's still Danny Phantom, I'm mainly cool with whatever.
4. I WILL review every single fanfiction I read, and I will do my best to give a decent, thoughtout review.
I think it's a little frustrating to know that at least 30 people liked your oneshot because they favorited it, but only 3 people reviews. I made it a personal goal that every single fanfiction I click on with the intentions of reading, I will leave a review.
I'm also trying to get into the habit of giving a review other than just update. It makes me smile personally when reviewers give me a nice, short paragraph about why they liked the story, that they're looking forward to seeing X or Z happen, expressing interest that I did J instead of W, etc, etc. I am not going to just tell you how great it is. Sometimes people, like myself when I was in my earlier days, just need to hear that their writing kind of sucks and tips on how to write better. I will always help if you need/want it.
5. Fanart? Wanna borrow an OC? Wanna continue one of my oneshots? Direct me please!
I'm open to people doing any of the three. In those cases, please ask me first. Then direct me to your amazing piece of work!
6. Feel free to tear me down in a review. I can take it.
As long as it's not a full out flame, I DO welcome real critical reviews. There is a difference. I have a thick skin, and I will not cry or reply with a mean comment. Sometimes harsh, but honest criticism is one of the ways people grow as a writer, artist, musician, whatever. If you chose to do this, please be specific as to why and include some details. The idea is to help me learn, not just bitch that I have a crummy fanfiction.
Also! PLEASE note that I DO have a lot of old fanfictions that I am mortified at having. I know they're terrible. I only keep them to tie in with the next rule. You don't need to critique them, I'm looking more for the more current ones. Please check the publication date before you criticize.
7. I try my very best to not delete fanfictions.
Of course, some were so terrible that I couldn't bear to keep them on my page. I know the pains of having a fanfiction you loved being deleted. I do my best to sort out the just extremely awful ones to delete and keeping the more 'liked' ones up. I do somewhat plan to rewrite them. Eventually.
8. Nicky is a busy lady. She does, however, update whenever possible.
Please note that a fanfiction is only discontinued if it specifically says discontinued.
I've got a full plate ever since I began college. I really do work on my fanfictions when I get the chance, but I do have a lot of other stuff going on. My fanfics WILL be completed. Only question is, well, when the hell that happens.

ILoveJesusJohnnyandDanny introduced me to this website.
I've been writing stories since I was four years old. I would read them to my grandfather.
I've been writing fanfiction since 2006.
My username comes from my love of ghosts, and of animals.
13 is my favorite number and is also my high school graduation year.
Where Am I?
While I love going by ghostanimal, there's some band who is called Ghost Animal (which is a dumb band name in my opinion), so it's sadly not always that.
Also, please let me know who you are. Just that you're from fanfiction is simple enough for me.

3. Fanart! Somebody actually made fanart!
Well, only one person made me fanart so far, but I really love and enjoy it very much!
Death is the Answer
Dani is always striving to be her own person and struggles with being a clone and kind of her own person in a way, although she's still very similar to Danny.
Eric, Reed, Juliet, Jenny and Roxxie are just constantly recycled OC filler characters. THEY WILL NEVER LEARN DANNY'S SECRET, HUNT GHOSTS OR ANYTHING! They are simply there because not everybody hangs out with the same 2-3 people every single day of their lives. Think of them as background characters with a personality that shows up more than as a slapstick joke.
Danny bleeds red in human, green in ghost. If he bleeds enough, red will start pouring out in ghost mode. If in ghost mode, too much green and then you'll see some red.
There are a few other halfas out there. They're just extremely rare and hard to find and not all Danny-hungry teen girls.
When people become ghosts, their lungs are turned into spectruses, which give them their ghost powers. Half-ghosts have one spectrus and one lung. The spectrus is not visible when in human mode, but the lung AND spectrus are visible in ghost mode.
Noting the above, ghosts don't breathe but Danny does because he still has one of his lungs. Ghosts DO eat and drink, but it's not required. As in, it's something they do for fun or to feel more human. Sleep IS needed, but they can go much longer without it than a human.
Ghost temperatures range from 0-40 degrees. Danny's is 60 degrees. He also has a very faint and slow pulse and heartbeat i ghost mode, but in human mode his temperature is 95 degrees, and his pulse and heartbeat are normal.
Nathan and Lester are just really twins.
Jazz is two grade levels ahead of Danny. Example, she'd be a senior and him a sophomore.
Vlad has a little sister named Anastasia "Annie" that's four years younger and an older brother that's two years older named Alexander. Nieces and nephews vary by stories.
Danny has very fast healing.
Danny only turns back into Fenton after passing out as Phantom if he's injured enough. If he's not that bad, he stays as Phantom.
Valerie's Dad has come to terms with what happened and has forgiven Danny Phantom for making him lose his job.
Danny is very good at biology and science because his parents ARE in a very science/math heavy field. He's just really bad at literature (since it's really the only subject you see him struggle with) and semi-bad at math (as mentioned by Vlad) but he's okay with history and decent at others.
Danny is a teen boy. Paulina is the hottest and most popular girl in his school. Even if it's in ghost form, I DO believe that he would flirt with her a little and maybe date briefly.
I do think Paulina is different outside of school. She's different enough that Danny would totally date her.
Phantom Planet doesn't exist. I killed it and buried it in the Fenton Thermos that's somewhere in Africa.
Cicero is always there. He is always mentioned in SOME WAY in my Skyrim fanfictions because I am mad for this madman.
If the fanfiction is set a bit in the future and is about the Dark Brotherhood, Aventus joined the Dark Brotherhood. Always. ALWAYS!
Cicero always gets some sanity returned, but just a tiny bit. He went mad partly due to loneliness, it makes sense that he kind some sanity back because he's surrounded by a new brotherhood.
5. OC Filler Characters and OC Characters
This is just a small section dedicated to the constantly recycled and reused OC filler characters I use, explaining briefly their background and the role they nearly always play. THEY WILL NEVER LEARN DANNY'S SECRET, HUNT GHOSTS OR ANYTHING! They are simply there because not everybody hangs out with the same 2-3 people every single day of their lives.
He's a football player, very athletic and a jock that's good friends with our favorite trio. He tries hard in school, but has a hard time grasping most concepts so he relays on the trio for homework help. Other jocks give him a hard time for being friends with 'loosers'. Eric has a stepmom, a younger sister and dad that he lives with. Eric has dark hair, green eyes and tanned with muscle. He has a small crush on Sam, and they go on a few dates, but they are never really serious and had both agreed they are better as friends.
She's more of Sam's friend than Danny or Tucker because of her gothic nature. However, she is generally pretty friendly and is a vegan. In a spinoff, she is revealed to be a vampire but only for that fanfiction's sake. In every other story she is just a gothic human girl that lives alone with her single dad. She's simply described as dark hair, pale skin and brown eyes and known to be a drama queen.
She's normally portrayed as Tucker's girlfriend because of her high honor student status. However, she is very bad with technology, which is where Tucker comes in and helps her. In Ghost 101 she has burns on her skin, but only in Ghost 101. Her parents are very protective but loving of her and her older sister. She has light brown hair and blue eyes, is pretty fair and does volleyball. She is occasionally shown on the cheerleading team. She does yearbook. She's also good friends with Sam, despite the two constantly arguing because Juliet also thinks that Sam should stop wearing so much black all of the time.
She's Jazz's best friend. She's also an AP and honor student when it comes to biology and literature like Jazz, in other classes she's average. She's a black haired, brown eyes girl with a little brother, a stepdad and mom. Jazz and her formed a friendship because Emily's step-father is also a ghost hunting freak, almost as bad as Jack. Her mom is a nurse and her little brother is an exchange student in Sweden.
He's also a jock, only a lot more cruel and likely to be a bully to the trio than Eric. They normally don't talk to him, but he does occasionally hang out with them when Eric's around. He's a blond haired, blue eyed 'stud'.
He's a Korean exchange student that's anti-social, but he's still good friends with Tucker and Danny and friends with Sam. He's a very good student. He hates all organized sports and is very quiet. He has black hair, glasses and is short compared to his friends. He generally hangs out with the other exchange students, nerds or the trio.
Another one of Sam's friends. Her part is mainly shown in Danny and Dani Phantom as Danny's steady girlfriend. While has a slight gothic tone to her look, she's mainly preppy and a very cheerful and loving person. Roxxie is on the volleyball and cheerleading team and is friends with Star and Paulina. They are on and off again friends because of her relationship to the trio, but they normally let her back into their group because her dad is a rich CEO and her house has a pool. She's a natural redhead with bright green eyes and pale skin.
Ryuu is his given name, Tyler is his English name. He's Japanese exchange student normally shown as Jazz's boyfriend or steady date. He is normally shown as the only student in her grade that challenges her in any way, but she has some passive aggressive hate for him because he's ahead of her in the run for valedictorian of their year. He tutored both Danny and Sam and even managed to get most of the football team to a C or B average so that they could play. He has black hair and brown eyes and is a bit tall for a Japanese guy.
Name: Galileo "Leo" Simon
Appearance: He has dark brown hair with green eyes, he's slightly overweight and he typically wears a button up and slacks for work but years t-shirts and jeans outside of school.
Seen in: The Ghost 101 Series
Brief Bio: He's featured in Ghost 101 as the new Ghost 101 teacher at Casper High. Born and raised a halfa, his spectrus, a ghostly organ, was removed when he was in his early 20s by the GIW, making him a full human. He married his wife, Jennifer, and joined the GIW. He worked for the GIW for five years before he became a Senior Supervisor at DALV Las for ten years before Mr. Masters asked him to teach the class. He teaches the class and learns of Danny's secret. Since then, he's the trio's favorite teacher and helps cover for them.
Allison "Alley" Alya
Appearance: Gothic style, often wears green, light green eyes with white-blonde hair and average figure.
Seen in: How to Study Ghosts
Brief Bio: She was born and raised in Alabama with three brothers. He oldest brother died, peaking her paranormal interest. She was quickly discovered to be a child prodigy when she was seven. She entered college at twelve and graduated at sixteen from Harvard with a degree in Psychology. Alley is renown in the ghost-hunting world for her amazing theories and research, including that there is a possible way to be both alive and dead. When she comes to Amity Park to study Danny Phantom, she learns Danny's secret by reading files she and her brother stole from Vlad's secret lab. She comes up with the cover-story that Danny is her brother that died long ago, and she also steals credit for Dani being a clone.
