Poll: After I finish some fanfictions, which DP fanfiction should I do next? Vote Now!
Author has written 99 stories for Danny Phantom, iCarly, Elder Scroll series, Borderlands, and Death Note.
Hi, I'm Nicky (previously Kaya, I decided to actually go by my real name now).
I have implemented a new list of personal rules/FAQ regarding fanfiction. It's also somewhat of a FAQ, so go ahead and read it! I even put it before my directory because I find it this important.
My Personal Fanfiction rules:
1. I never, ever write for reviews.
Writing is a passion of mine since I was four years old. While I admit, reviews DO brighten my day, I love getting them and they encourage me to update a little faster, I will NEVER discontinue a fanfiction simply because I don't get enough reviews. It discourages me, and I may put it on hiatus or slow updates because it's not generating enough interest for me to force all of my energy into it, but I will not discontinue it JUST because of reviews.
I immediately lose some respect for writers who stop updating or threaten because they feel like they don't get enough reviews. Story alerts and favorites, along with traffic, are normally great indicators on how well your story is doing as well. When people say this, I feel like that they don't care about the readers who like the story and want more, but that review number. I normally just stop reading the story when I see that and sometimes even pull the story off my favorites, and I have quite a few times, because when I read that the author is pulling that bullshit, it makes me so angry. I AM fine with, "I might make this oneshot into a full length if enough people express interest" or something along that line. I cannot stand a "people aren't reviewing enough, if I don't have X amount of reviews then I won't update."
I had to put this up because I've been seeing it a lot lately, it's especially a pattern amongst newer writers (no offense). It's one of my biggest writer pet peeves.
2. I would love to review your fanfiction/cowrite/give some advice/help you in anyway. Just PM me. As a general rule, I respond within 48 hours unless otherwise posted on my profile.
Advice and help is not just for fanfiction. If you're having personal issues and problems and just need somebody to talk to, I am completely here for anybody. I am glad to give you my email or skype or just read your PMs and listen to any of your problems and help you get through it.
As for fanfiction, I just love betareading and reviewing fanfictions. I really like to try and help writers grow like my reviewers did, and still do, me. I am not going to give you a fluffy review, I will tell you in detail how I personally think you can improve because I do think that fanfiction is a geat way to practice writing. I learned more about writing from fanfiction than any English class. I also enjoy co-writing.
For betareading information, visit my beta profile.
I'm also just open to just talking bout whatever. I reply to every message. You can contact me in any of the various ways listed under Dear Stalkers. Typically, PMs, Skype and Kik are the fastest ways to contact me however.
3. You want to accept a challenge? Go for it! No need to PM me to ask, you're welcome to just take it. Only PM me if you didn't put ghostanimal in the summary, which is completely fine.
Firstly, you're awesome for taking a challenge. I guarantee that I will read and review the challenge accepted.
I have recently began to check/stalk the newest fanfictions every day, but not the crossover ones. Anything on the challenge section is 100% complete and total fair game to all.
I'd also like to point out that the rules for the challenges and the God if I owned Danny Phantom are mostly just guidelines and suggestions. I'm not that strict with the rules. For challenges, it's mainly more specifics I'd personally like to see, but you can take it any direction you really wish. With the GIIODP challenge, as long as I can tell it's still Danny Phantom, I'm mainly cool with whatever.
4. I WILL review every single fanfiction I read, and I will do my best to give a decent, thoughtout review.
I think it's a little frustrating to know that at least 30 people liked your oneshot because they favorited it, but only 3 people reviews. I made it a personal goal that every single fanfiction I click on with the intentions of reading, I will leave a review.
I'm also trying to get into the habit of giving a review other than just update. It makes me smile personally when reviewers give me a nice, short paragraph about why they liked the story, that they're looking forward to seeing X or Z happen, expressing interest that I did J instead of W, etc, etc. I am not going to just tell you how great it is. Sometimes people, like myself when I was in my earlier days, just need to hear that their writing kind of sucks and tips on how to write better. I will always help if you need/want it.
5. Fanart? Wanna borrow an OC? Wanna continue one of my oneshots? Direct me please!
I'm open to people doing any of the three. In those cases, please ask me first. Then direct me to your amazing piece of work!
6. Feel free to tear me down in a review. I can take it.
As long as it's not a full out flame, I DO welcome real critical reviews. There is a difference. I have a thick skin, and I will not cry or reply with a mean comment. Sometimes harsh, but honest criticism is one of the ways people grow as a writer, artist, musician, whatever. If you chose to do this, please be specific as to why and include some details. The idea is to help me learn, not just bitch that I have a crummy fanfiction.
Also! PLEASE note that I DO have a lot of old fanfictions that I am mortified at having. I know they're terrible. I only keep them to tie in with the next rule. You don't need to critique them, I'm looking more for the more current ones. Please check the publication date before you criticize.
7. I try my very best to not delete fanfictions.
Of course, some were so terrible that I couldn't bear to keep them on my page. I know the pains of having a fanfiction you loved being deleted. I do my best to sort out the just extremely awful ones to delete and keeping the more 'liked' ones up. I do somewhat plan to rewrite them. Eventually.
8. Nicky is a busy lady. She does, however, update whenever possible.
Please note that a fanfiction is only discontinued if it specifically says discontinued.
I've got a full plate ever since I began college. I really do work on my fanfictions when I get the chance, but I do have a lot of other stuff going on. My fanfics WILL be completed. Only question is, well, when the hell that happens.

1. Updates: Where the @#$% am I?
3/11/16: *nervous jazz hands in the distance as I try so hard* I really don't want to try and keep coming back with no plan and almost constantly play with emotions as if I'm teasing you that I'm back until I have something done or something started that I know with 100% certainty that I will finish.
4/1/15: I'm back! And no, this is not an April Fool's Day joke.
6/13/14: Fanfiction is a bitch and deleted all of my hard work for all of my fanfictions in the document. Lesson fucking learned.
5/8/14: I swear I'm not dead and I swear I'm writing up the final touches on the next chapter of Mind Sweep.

ILoveJesusJohnnyandDanny introduced me to this website.
I've been writing stories since I was four years old. I would read them to my grandfather.
I've been writing fanfiction since 2006.
My username comes from my love of ghosts, and of animals.
13 is my favorite number and is also my high school graduation year.
Where Am I?
While I love going by ghostanimal, there's some band who is called Ghost Animal (which is a dumb band name in my opinion), so it's sadly not always that.
Also, please let me know who you are. Just that you're from fanfiction is simple enough for me.
