Poll: If I were to come back with a multi-chaptered fic that was more than a few hundred words a chapter, hehe, sorry which of these pairings would you like to see the most? Vote Now!
Author has written 115 stories for Harry Potter, Twilight, United States of Tara, and True Blood.
My name is Delta.
I'm an aspiring writer.
I've been writing fanfiction for over a decade now and I am, currently, in my mid-twenties living the desert Southern California. I help raise my two autistic nieces while doing freelance things on the side.
I haven't written anything in a long time and I'm not sure if I ever plan to again but I'm still very much an active reader in a few different fandoms.
"Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones
pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy."
"In these night recitations we create a space between things as we felt them at the time and as we speak them now.
This is the space reserved for irony, sympathy and fond amusement, the means by which we rescue ourselves from the past."
-The Airborne Toxic Event
“Capricious, wanton, bold and brutal lust is meanly selfish; when resisted, cruel;
and like the blast of pestilential winds, taints the sweet bloom of nature’s fairest forms.”
"Writers aren't exactly people...they're a whole bunch of people trying to be one person."
-F. Scott Fitzgerald
"The writer must believe that what he is doing is the most important thing in the world.
And he must hold to this illusion even when he knows it is not true."
"To be a writer is to sit down at one’s desk in the chill portion of every day, and to write;
not waiting for the little jet of the blue flame of genius to start from the breastbone — just plain going at it, in pain and delight.
To be a writer is to throw away a great deal, not to be satisfied, to type again, and then again, and once more, and over and over."
"We talked about our voices as writers -- how strong they are and brave but how as people are wimps. That is what creates our craziness. The chasm between the great love we feel for the world when we sit and write about it and the disreguard we give it in our own human lives."
"You asked me who I thought I was before. I said maybe a fish, because I love water and you said, you thought a mermaid, maybe. If you were a mermaid, you said, If you were a mermaid, I was the sea."
-Francesca Lia Block, Wasteland
"I wish I were a giant, so I could paint on the world."
- Steffanie a.k.a. Steppin' Woof
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace."
"The act of writing is an act of optimism. You would not take the trouble to do it if you felt that it didn’t matter."
"Writers are not just people who sit down and write. They hazard themselves.
Every time you compose a book your composition of yourself is at stake."
"Writing is a struggle against silence."
"Every great and original writer, in proportion as he is great and original,
must himself create the taste by which he is to be relished."
"Ideas improve. The meaning of words participates in the improvement. Plagiarism is necessary. Progress implies it. It embraces an author's phrase, makes use of his expression, erases a false idea and replaces it with the right idea."
"The reason that I keep writing is that all my most powerful messages about the fates of wild places that I care about need to have words as well as images."
"I believe there is another world waiting for us...A better world. And I'll be waiting for you there."
Robert Frobisher (Cloud Atlas)
