Boromir returns to Minas Tirith and even as the people of the White City hail him Captain, he declares himself King. In his possession, the One Ring. On his conscience, murder. Faramir is asked to set the crown upon his brother's head.

RotK -- Faramir is grievously injured and Denethor despairs, but Pippin, though helpless to act, hopes that the prayer of a single hobbit will not go unheeded.
