Author has written 4 stories for Harry Potter.
I got into writing my own Harry Potter fanfiction accidentally, mainly as an exercise in world building. I saw other people trying concepts, and thought, "wouldn't it be more logical and fit with the character better if..." way more than is healthy. I got particularly interested in how all Harry's relationships would completely change if he went back in time, because battle-weary-and-nineteen-year-old-Harry is not going to fulfil the same role in his friendships with idealistic-Hermione, innocent-Ron, and desperately-hopeful-Neville.
I'm also really interested in how everyday life works for wizards, so all the little details keep getting in the way of my story. If wizards don't use plastic, how do they clean their teeth? If the Prefect bathrooms are used by people from all four houses, how long is the walk between the bathroom on the 5th floor of Hogwarts and your dormitory? If this is a preferred option for prefects, where does everyone else bathe? Does this mean that the four Houses don't have their bathrooms in their towers and dungeons? How do Hogwarts' clubs run? What jobs are out there aside from working for Hogwarts, the Ministry, the goblins and Diagon Alley shops? Why does Hermione never try to save Harry from the Dursleys? What do the other students actually think of Harry (in between rumours)?
I'm quite a fast writer, and I plug out chapters quite quickly, but unfortunately I'm a very slow editor, so if a chapter is delayed you'll know what's happened. I usually do between one and three re-writes of a chapter before I'm happy with it, and try to stay a few chapters ahead of what I've uploaded because often I'll find I need to re-edit an earlier chapter to build up to whatever I'm writing at the moment. I mostly write during my holidays, because when work is happening it takes all my energy.
I do hope you enjoy my stories. I will complete them even if it takes 50 years, I promise.
