![]() Author has written 5 stories for Naruto, and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?. I suppose I can't really leave this section blank... well, not if I'm looking for people to actually be interested in the garbage I write. Here goes... First, the new image is by an incredibly talented artist, "Wolf Road" circa 2015. Second, I do not write as a means to make a living wage (obviously if you've looked at the now readable version of my first work Nature of the Beast). I write because it's cathartic... it's a release of the mind when things begin to bunch up and crowd around in the brain pan. This helps me relieve the tension and, hopefully, alleviate some boredom for someone that stumbles across my work. More importantly, this is my first public exercise of expression in any forum so I'm looking for feedback - at least more than the, "You suck!" and "Suck Less!!" variety. Feel free to review and communicate. As this is not my main line of work, I will work diligently to respond to your thoughts and questions. [My thanks once again to UltimateReaderArgus for alerting me to the formatting issue.] I understand that not all of you will agree with my point of view and that's fine. It's a dialogue for a reason and there will be some give and take. In the end, I write for myself and I may, or may not, agree with your opinions. It is healthy discourse that breeds healthy relationships and, through this formulaic expression of communication, I hope to improve my meager writing skills and build a few healthy friendships along the way. See you in the funnies fellow adventurers! Libertá letteraria o morte! (Literary freedom or death!) Well, the first fanfic is done and it's a mixed bag actually. Perhaps not enough humor and less complicated themes? Meh... What's done is done. If you like it, thanks. If you didn't like it, I'm not going to care. In all honesty, I didn't write it for you; I wrote it for me. If all you saw was gratuitous hentai behavior, then you missed the whole point. Thanks for visiting and happy holidays! ~I-I-I~ November 2018: There have been several questions about whether or not there will be a sequel to NotB. As of today, I'm undecided. I have a new understanding of how much work writers, even poor fanfiction writers like myself, have to devote just to push something out that's halfway readable. NotB was done without a Beta and I am reluctant to attempt round two without one to help keep me focused enough not to wander through all the side-quests that pop up when my brain begins to wander. I'll promise this much. If I can find a good Beta willing to put up with my crap, I'll write the sequel to this first story with a further promise that I'll wrap up all of the loose ends I left in the first story... which led to the need for a sequel to begin with. Sooo... know any good Betas out there looking for something to do? Don't be afraid to PM me on this. I don't bite... very hard anyway. ~Siva'a ~I-I-I~ Okay... so I may have posted the prologue and started working on the first chapter to NotB's sequel, Taming the Savage Beast. Happy Thanksgiving! ~I-I-I~ 26 FEB 2019: Some of you may have noticed that "Nature of the Beast" is no longer a published work. After some serious soul searching and much deliberation, I am planning to re-release it after a complete grooming. I am not planning, however, to leave the original up. It was, in my opinion, a very raw piece (it being my first) and I was emotionally invested in it as I needed to exercise some very personal demons. A few of you that reached out to me in the reviews and PMs know about what I'm referring to. To that end, the original piece will stay archived. To those that read it (and stayed with it to the end), thank you for your support. To those that ran off the tracks during the Wave ARC, I know why you did it and do not judge anyone for their opinion. I had my reasons for writing it the way I did and I know at least one of you out there knows why because we discussed it. 'Nuff said on that. Once I complete "No More," I will devote the necessary time to clean up the original "rough" and produce a more finished product combining both the original and the unfinished sequel in one piece. There are some items that will remain, perhaps some things many of you took issue with but that's okay; it's my AU fanfic and I make no apologies for it. You can always find something else to read as there are literally thousands of Naruto fics to choose from. As always, thank you for the ongoing support and enjoy as you will. ~Siva'a ~I-I-I~ 13 January 2020: Well, it's time to dust off my first story on this website. I've begun re-posting an updated compilation of Nature of the Beast (NotB) and Nature of the Savage Beast (NotSB). The goal is to complete both stories as one compendium and I hope to do so before the end of next year 2021. The story leans more along mythological / fantasy lines so there will be more OC's and fantastical creatures, like the Kitsune. ~Siva'a ~I-I-I~ 29 Feb 2020 (Leap Year): Dusting off NotSB has gotten the (not-so) creative juices flowing. I had an idea for a simpler (read less-multi-plotted) Naruto fic when I started the first version but never looked to far into it. I figured, like every other story plot for this genre, it was probably overdone, but the idea stayed in my brain. Recently I took a search through the Naruto fanfic world and discovered, to my surprise, that it isn't written out to hell and I might finish the Count of Monte Cristo themed story after all. I did search just to be sure and discovered that there were 2 stories following the theme and neither went past the first chapter, which I found odd. Maybe fanfic writers thought it too difficult to flesh out the storyline and gave up? It's unfortunate because the "Daimyo of Uzu no Kuni" by Fenerath is an excellent start to what would have been a fabulous fic. Seeing as the author hasn't been active in their stories since 2015, it would appear that Life has shifted their focus elsewhere. I don't think I'll be able to match Fenerath's gift of storytelling but I can't get this story to go away so I think I'll give it a shot. No promises on length or updates as I'm still working through the first four chapters of the story. We'll see what happens... ~Siva'a ~I-I-I~ 19 Jul 2020: Despite the insanity taking over the world this year, it's been nice to take the brain off of stupid people antics in the news and lose myself in some poorly-executed writing. While not as far as I'd like to be, I'm happy with where "No More" is-relatively speaking. For those of you out there supporting that work, I thank you. To that end, I've mostly completed Chapter 49 but I've hit a snag: I can't decide whether or not to kill off Hiruzen. I honestly have gone back and forth over this one point in the story, sad as that may seem, so I'm turning it over to you, the reader. I don't often use gimmick's like polls or reviews to determine the path of my stories but I'm going to use it here. It's simple. There is a Yes/ No poll (at least it should be open by now) and all you have to do is click one or the other. I'll keep this poll open for two weeks and let the fans decide. Keep in mind, if you are not logged in to a registered account, you will not be able to vote and Hiru-chan's life depends on your generosity. Also, the sooner this poll wraps up (especially if there is a lot of feedback and I can safely say a majority has spoken), the sooner I post the next chappie. ~Siva'a ~I-I-I~ 12 August 2022: Despite concerns that the Rona may have gotten me, I am doing well (thank you for the concerns and well wishes). Also, I am writing again after a particularly busy rash of real-life nonsense so it would seem that I have a few stories to finish up. If you are keeping an eye on my profile, I intend to start posting progress updates and future projects here in the event you want to brainstorm or share ideas. Constructive feedback/criticism is always welcome even if it isn't always positive (I can filter through the emotion). That said, my current priorities are: 1. Finish "No More." I will be working on this story exclusively until it's done. Can't leave a project this big unfinished. 2. Return to and complete NotSB. The combined rewrite is my other big writeup but I'm currently considering a compression of the content which would cut roughly 110K out of the final story. 3. I am considering "A Daimyo's Tale" as a story concept only. There doesn't appear to be enough interest in it at this point so I'll leave it up in case someone wants to adopt it. PM if you feel up to the challenge. I would finish it but I have too many other shinies that want me to write them first. My Future Priorities/ Muse Whispers: 1. "Pieces of A Dream." Several folks wanted to see a full X-over with Naruto and Danmachi based on the short section in No More. This story appeals to me and I plan to use it to write another well-used theme seen in Naruto: the banishment/exile trope. I've read a few good ones and have wanted to take this on even if some feel it's overdone. Current Status: Heavy into story concept and timeline development; first three chapters written but not polished. (No Pairings decided) 2. "The Littlest Dragon." I absolutely blame Pain17ification for this earworm refusing to leave my head. Yeah! I said it! I'm blaming you Pain for refusing to finish what you started and instead getting me hooked on another one of your excellent reads! (by the way, you should check out Pain17ification's A Fishcake and His Dragon, even if it isn't FINISHED!) Current Status: Concept stage only. (Naruto/ Tohru) 3. "Dragon Overlord." Naruto/Overlord Crossover/D&D. Anyone familiar with the Overlord Manga/Anime/Light Novel is aware of where this is going. I am going to focus on a different section of the "New World" and a different take on ridiculously overpowered characters trying to adjust while Momongo goes on about his uncontrollable rollercoaster ride to emperorship. Current Status: Heavy into story concept and timeline development; first chapter written and smoothed with two more in development. (No Pairings Finalized) As always, shoot me a PM or leave a review in a story you're interested in. I will also try to keep this page up to date so you never have to worry about what's going on. Enjoy as you will. ~Siva'a ~III~ January 4th, 2025: Well, the new year is upon us. I am 1 or 2 chapters away from finishing "No More." To be honest, the story didn't come out the way I'd hoped...too much going on and the movie theme I based it on doesn't really work with a story that size but I'm determined to finish. (I refuse to follow in the multi-hiatus footsteps of some other writers on this site) That said, there is a Naruto-Percy Jackson challenge I've heard about but can't find. If anyone has a link or knows where I can find it myself, please let me know - there is a rampant plot bunny running around in my head and it needs to be freed at some point. Perhaps after I finish "Nature of the Savage Beast"? That will be my next focus even though I'm writing chapters for "Pieces of a Dream" as all this is going on. I also need to drop the next chapter for "A Daimyo's Tale" before too long. Need to prove a bratty non-fiction-writing critic wrong it would seem... Anyway, happy new year people! Be good to each other and some karmic good may come your way in return. Stay safe, and enjoy as you will. ~Siva'a ~III~ ...2025: |
