Welcome my faithful minions! Fear not the darkness, for waiting within are many wonderful things for your entertainment... including cookies. Okay, so I'd make an awful overlord. I can dream, right? We have a newly newly overhauled Profile page to make finding updates on fictions and finding other places you can find me across the web easier.
Contributing author to an honest-to-Pete, in print anthology about superheroes! If you'd like to read something from me that's NOT fanfiction, give The Deli Counter of Justice a try! It's available in print and on Kindle, and the other stories are pretty awesome. (Seriously, how did I get in there??) You'll find me under the pen name "Rahne Ehtar."
Quote (updated when I remember):
"It doesn't matter how you get there if you don't know where you're going!"
Illusory Knight. (Supernatural) Dean wakes up in a hospital bed with no memory of how or why he's there. When his long dead father arrives he gets the first hint that things are a little out of the ordinary, even for him. But is this really just another strange case, or something much worse?
Entangled. (Avengers; Loki's Brood) Before Tony, there were other loves in Loki's life, and other children besides the triplets. He'd never sought out Tony, and there is a good reason to keep him at a distance, now.
Reenactment. (Avengers) Tony's gone on a tangent of research, and drags all of the Avengers to a local SCA tourney, with everyone decked out in period garb. Including Loki, because he lost a bet.
Your Gentleman. (Kamikaze Girls) Momoko/Ichiko. It’s getting close to graduation, which means parties. It should be right up Momoko’s alley, what with the dressing up, but she doesn’t want anything to do with it, since she’ll only get teased and there’s no one to go with. Ichiko offers to take her, and to dress up for the occasion. Without Momoko knowing she going to BtSSB for her outfit (male) and without Ichiko knowing, Momoko takes on extra hours there to pay for her own special dress, which includes a special, unasked for bit of embroidery on the special order suit at the shop.
Jihi No Tenshi. (Death Note) When Misa finds a bloodied man who bears a strange resemblance to L, she's ends up questioning at lot of what she used to believe, with bloody results.
Haunted. (Yu-Gi-Oh!) A long Ryou / Bakura background fic. The line separating light and dark isn't always so definite. Ryou, an apparently ordinary boy, is chosen by an ancient Egyptian artifact to harbor a soul stained and twisted my memories and unknowable powers. Chapter 7 in the works!
Hunter and Huntress. (Supernatural) Destiel. Inspired by a series of gif sets on tumblr. The barriers between realities have become unstable and Sam and Dean wake up to find female versions of themselves in bed with them. Things get more complicated when Cass and his swap, Cassie, show up and it’s eventually revealed that she and Deanna (Dee) are a little more than friends.
The Ironmonger’s Heart. (Avengers/Norse AU) Frostiron. An Iron Man / Thor / Norse mythology crossover and AU. If Tony were a blacksmith in Old Norse mythology world, with some details for Marvel-Loki thrown in. Shot by one of his own weapons, Tony prays to be saved, and the first god to reply is none other than the Trickster. He agrees to save the Smith, but requires his heart in return.
All of these stories are subject to priority change or disappearing entirely, depending on my attention span, (I’m getting better about that), and my workload. I still have bills to pay, after all.
Brothers contamiNated. (Death Note) A different take on the events of Another Note. Completely different, in fact. Beyond doesn't run away from Wammy's, but instead stays, and tries to exact his revenge on L through the medium of Near. This story has taken too long of a hiatus and the feel of what I was going for has been lost. My apologies to anyone who was awaiting chapters. :(
Playtime. Originally meant as a one-shot, this one will be continued. Blame my sister, Kame-chan, for once again tricking me into continuing. Also originally meant as a humor/friendship fic, we may (probably) will become a romance, Matt x Near style. A possibility exists that the final chapter will be written someday, but there's too much else going on for me to justify prioritizing this one. :(
Truth. Was not intended to tie in with any other fic, but it could with almost any of them. Taken directly from episode 25 of dubbed anime, if another fic fits with the canon, it should fit with this.
In the Library. Ties in some with At Your Grave for Mello past references. Ties in even more with Ghostly for the same reason. Ties in with What's My Name?
At Your Grave. Ties in some with ItL (see above) and Ghostly for Mello-past references and the build-up of the Mello/Matt/Near friendship relationship. Has a pretty strong tie in to What's My Name?
Ghostly. See above for most tie ins, (did we notice the robot, re: In the Library?). Subtle tie in to What's My Name?
Last Words. This is an alternate take on post-canon from AYG, so all of those tie-ins also apply here.
Loyalty. Some very loose tie-ins to Playtime as it was meant to be the last chapter when originally conceived. Nothing direct, but definitely some similarities.
What's My Name? Well, there will be quite a few tie-ins for this one, and they won't all make a great amount of sense.
Morality Could or could not be taken as a 'lost chapter' for What's My Name?
Brothers contamiNated: There are no direct tie-ins for this fic, but the background used for A and B is pretty much the same as what is seen in What's My Name?, though not to the same conclusion. There are also shades of Ghostly seen in the origins of Near, Matt and Mello.
Criminal Confidante. Ties in with Thief for a Day, should be fairly obvious if you've read them both.
Thief for a Day. See above.
After the trial in Asgard for his various crimes, Loki Laufeyson walks away estranged from his people and burdened with tasks to amend his past wrongs. In so doing he also walks away with his three children - Fenrir, Hela and Jörmungandr - taking them out of the hands of the Æsir. He entrusts them to Tony Stark, much to everyone's surprise, and what could have been a disaster turns out to work out remarkably well for everyone involved. At least most of the time.
The various adventures of Tony, Loki and his children (and the rest of the Avengers) as they learn to get along, trust each other and forge a family stronger than even blood could create.
Part I: Caregiver
Herein you will find the sometimes lighthearted, sometimes serious, sometimes funny and sometimes heartbreaking adventures of Tony, Loki and his many children, most notably Fenrir, Hela and Jörmungandr, and of course the extended family of the Avengers team. Sometimes the stories will transition smoothly from one to the next, sometimes there will be huge jumps. Sometimes they will be incredibly long, other times very short. I plan to write scenes that are widespread across the timeline, from the time the children are truly children all the way until they are fully grown. Occasionally I may put in parts that are sandwiched between stories that are already complete and posted, rearranging the continuity - but hopefully never breaking it.
Basically writing these out as a series instead of a very long, multi-chaptered fic is so I can write those parts that interest me without having to spend months fleshing every little piece out. You'll find places where I'm hinting at things we don't see directly, and may not mention again for some time. Most likely I will get back to it, though perhaps not. This, as well as offering me a measure of convenience, is to give the whole thing a greater sense of realism. After all, you never really know everything that's going on in real life, right? ;)
(No worries though, major and plot necessary details I will come back and cover. If anyone has any really anxiety over something, check out all the installments and if it's not covered yet, leave me comment to remind me about it. :3)
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND UPDATES:
Stories & Related:
In the Library has been translated into French! The lovely peneloo is the wonderful lady who did the translation, which was super brave of her. If French is your language of choice, check it out here. Major props, and an infinite supply of the sweet treat of her choice goes out to her. Check her out, she's done a few other fic translations. Thank you so much, peneloo!!
In the Library has received even more attention, this time from the wonderfully artistic Breena Beeks Marie. She's taking on the project of converting chapter one of ItL into a doujinshi! Pretty darn awesome, in my opinion! Keep an eye out for it, she's a talented artist.
If there is anyone out there who wants to use my work as a base for their own art, or borrow it for whatever reason, I would like you to e-mail or PM me for permission, first. The two ladies who have done art or translations of In the Library have both done so, and permission was given without a moment's hesitation. In most cases that I can think of, I won't have any issues with any requests, but I still prefer that you ask. If it hadn't been for peneloo and Breena Marie, I wouldn't have thought this announcement would need to be made, simply because I never would have thought anyone would want to borrow my work, but since it's happened twice now, I have to consider it at least a possibility. :D
I am a very, very busy person with lots of commitments. Many of them have to do with writing out the stories that eventually appear here - just look above for a portion of what I have going in that vein - but not everything. While I try very hard to keep a regular flow of chapters and to never leave any one thing alone for too long, time constraints and my Muse will occasionally throw a wet brick into my carefully planned out calendar. I'm sorry if I'm slow to update, but rest assured, my brain never shuts up. I will get back to things eventually. Also, note that every April and November is a month of pure writing for me. November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNo), when writers around the globe try to pound out 50,000 words or more in 30 days, and April is NaNo Camp, a time in summer for more insane word count goals, but one where you set your own pace. During these months I will be effectively down and out until the next month, most likely sometime halfway through. More than likely I will be coming back with sheaves of stories to share, but for those months themselves... pray for my sanity and my wrist.
First, if you are so kind as to leave me a review, THANK YOU! I appreciate the time taken to write and tell me what you thought, and love hearing from anyone who actually took the time to read through my scribblings! :D Second, I try to reply to every review I receive. That's right. Every. Single. One. Sometimes it takes me some time to reply, I've been known to take a few months before getting enough time to sit and do so, but I do get around to it. However, I'm only able to do so for those review/ers who are signed in when they review. If you are expecting a reply, and especially if you leave a question in your review, PLEASE BE SIGNED IN TO REVIEW. Once there was a time when I could hunt reviewers down by their names if they left one, even if they weren't signed in. Alas, I no longer have that luxury, and if a review is left by an Anon, I will read, enjoy, and file away without replying. So, all reviews are welcome! But if you want / expect / need a reply, please remember to sign in so I can do so. Thank you!
So, with all that said, thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy the products of my twisted little mind!
