To The Les Miserables Fandom
Hello all. I don't know if many of you remember me from my earlier years writing Javert fanfic. My history on ff.net and in the fandom is a bit patchy, I'll admit. I first started writing fanfiction with my brothers waaaay back when we decided a spoof of Princess Bride with Babylon Five characters would be hilarious. i still think it was, but two of my brothers are married now and we're all moved on and away from each other, so that is in permanent hiatus. Rest In Peace found its own ending. i had more planned, but as I've aged in the fandom those chapters became unnecessary and gauche. I prefer to leave it how it is, slightly ambiguous and a little unfinished but at least true to my original idea.
Here's the thing. I'm leaving ff.net. I've had a splendid run of it, and the people and ideas and history and inspiration I've met here has been - priceless. But now it's time for me to focus on my novels, and so for now at least I want to say a formal farewell. I'll still be finishing the Capitain Scaramouche series over on my TWSythar account with my lovely writing partner, but I don't intend to continue public fanfiction after that, either solo or with a partner. This may change in the future, I don't know. All I do know is that it's time for me to move on. And so I'm publishing my last story. A swansong if you will of Javert and Les Amis, both parts of the fandom which I have come to love individually. It's a little odd, so have patience. And i thank you all for everything, for all you've shared with me and all you've taught me, for your kindnesses and your love, for the occasional reality check when i've needed it. You're wonderful.
