Hi, my name is chapellefan and I've been writing on FF.net for about 6 years now.
I also have a Fiction Press account, right here.
The current project I'm working on is "Crazy World". It's a superhero original work that's a cross between X-men: Evolution, Watchmen and any other superhero sources I can think of at the moment. It stars in an alternate future where mutants were alive during the industrial revolution and have been a part of American bigotry and acceptance until they are serving as police-aids today.
Updates are weekly, if not mentioned otherwise and I hope you enjoy: http://www.fictionpress.com/s/3100035/1/Crazy-World
6/30/2013: Everything started about 2006. I had discovered something called the 'internet' and 'youtube' (internet connection at my house was really crappy back in those days, and also I was still going to official websites to get my content. I was actually a fan of the 4kids! One Piece *shudder*. I discovered this little anime called "Kannazuki no Miko". I thought it kind of sucked but read some fanfiction about it. That lead me to Tsuyazakura Kouyuki (more on him later). So, I saw how much he LOVED KnM and I followed him back to Shoujoai.com. I became sort of a troll, he called me out on it, and he ignored my messages. Normally, this would be the end of the story, but you see, I was a spiteful little motherfucker back in the day (I probably still am). So, I saw how he wrote what was essentially fluff (well written fluff, mind you. Maybe a bit heavy on the purple prose), and I said "Pfft. I can do that too." So, I ended up writing "My Assassin, My Lover", a really grim-dark fanfiction that basically made Himeko and Chikane go through hell.
It's essentially Animal Farm mixed in medieval times. Oh, and I fed Sungest, Chikane's horse, to an OC. (No, seriously, I did that.) It got me 160 reviews. And thus, my fanfiction career continued (as well as my newfound movie critic career).
However, as the years went by, Tsuyazakura's paths and I didn't really cross. I had also begun to realize that the reason I didn't like KnM was because Japan's homosexuality conversations were much different from America's homosexuality controversies. (Now, I'm just sick of America's controversy. JUST LET HOMOSEXUALS GET MARRIED ALREADY!) I found other material, fell in love with it and began studying good stories from bad. Now, you think after what, 5 years of reviewing film, you'd think I'd develop better taste by now. And you'd be wrong. I just began understanding myself a bit better and why I liked what I liked and disliked what I disliked. So if you're wondering why I spend so much time writing reviews... there's your answer. There was also the fact that I was a BIG fan of Bioware (still am) but they were going through... let's just say, transitions. When people started from liking Bioware to Bioware is the WORST THING EVER, I sort of had a mental breakdown. Not a serious one, but sort of an existential crisis. Now, I was back to square one. What was wrong with my taste? Why did I have a different opinion than everyone else?
Also, my 'promising' fanfiction career didn't really take off. What with personal life, video games and etc. I had really little time to write. I had gone from writing muti-chapter epics to the occasional one-shot. (Though I did manage to make a half decent ME2 parody and my interpretation of Kotor 1 to SWtor). Also, I began to realize why I wasn't that popular (aside from losing my best beta-reader due to his busy schedule). I was more of a "let's tackle this controversy by writing allegories to it". Fans are more of a "OMG! My favorite ship!" Since I'm not a shipper (hides his M!Shep/Jack fanfiction), I soon started losing interest in writing fanfiction and decided to switch to a longterm project of mine "Crazy World".
Now, I look and see 40 reviews for the latest Tsuyazakura fanfiction http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8587968/1/The-Queen-of-the-Evening-Skies
I don't really know where to go from here. I'm probably going to keep writing reviews of my unpopular opinion. I'm probably still going write fanfiction that nobody reviews. And I'm probably going to buy Dragon Age 3, much to my future disappointment.
