Author has written 5 stories for Hellsing, Dungeon Keeper, Doctor Who, and True Blood.
All stories will be updated by the end of August, but watch this space as by the end of this week two, possibly three new stories I have been playing with for God knows how long are going to be posted. I may tinker with them at a later date but they're going up before I lose my patience declare them dead ends in my mind and delete the lot. (I've done this far too many times in the past, and this basically gives me an external back up if I do pick them up again)
Note on , no title , working.
Q&A (Answer to reviews / questions.)
Some one asked me why I used such an effeminate name for a boy (Wren), originally I had considered Robin. All I'll say for now is it fit the character. Do a little reading on these interesting little birds and you'll probably see why.
Age - Born 1986 work it out.
Gender- Take a guess , cause I ain't saying
Location- In what ever odd little corner I've nested in to write.
Currently drowning in- Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Coffee
Favourite thing to do on this site: . Playing stepping stones ( little game I invented with a friend for this site. which became a drinking game)
Here's how to play
-Find and read a good fic.
Then look at the authors list of favourite stories.
Choose one of these and read it all of it. If they don't have a favourite story you use one of their favourite authors stories. (if this writer doesn't have either and you hit a dead end you loose by defalt)
If the story is a good score two points (stepping stones).
Repeat with the new author.
If the new story's crap or simply doesn't appeal you loose two stones and start again . (if you're over legal drinking age drink one shot)
No writer can be used more than once per game.( that rule is a @#/!)
The person with the' longest path' wins. The longest trail I've ever made in one sitting is 18 good stories.
Things that like:
A decent original plot line and story, not necessarily OC. If you find one of those stories bookmark it they’re pure gold and just as rare. I’ve forgotten to do this on too many occasions and the never been able to find the story again.
A well written story where it shows that the writer has put some time and effort into their work, pure pleasure to read, enough said.
Writers who not only read a lot of other peoples work but also review it, I don’t do enough reviewing myself but am sincerely glad that there are wonderful people out there who do review a stories after they have read it.(I don’t mean my work .I don’t give a stuff if people review mine, though I do appreciate it. Knowing that people are reading and enjoying it is enough)
Readers who give an honest opinion of the story, be the review be good or bad: seriously you make us all better writers.
After a few years of reading fiction on this site there are a few things I could do without admittedly this is not the full list:
Attack of the clones-
If some ones already wrote that story for gods sake don’t just lift their plot, it’s just plain rude. Reading a story that not only has the same general plot line which, ok could be a coincidence but the stories having the exact same events ? Snore , some writers are better than others but the second I see these type of stories I close it down and switch off.
Gratuitous swearing for the hell of it.-
Unless that character actually does swear profusely give it a rest. There are better ways to demonstrate their emotional state than adding the word fuck to every other sentence, explore those methods please.
Mindless character bashing :-
It’s just plain lazy, if you can write without doing it leave the sodding character out of your story.
Caps lock fever.
Symptoms random capitals used to demonstrate shouting or even worse the whole chapter in upper case. Cure: remove this button from the offending keyboard and symptoms will cease in 24 hours. If symptoms persist consult your GP or remove whole keyboard.
Uncalled for flaming :
Different from the critical review, which are admiral creations and show that someone can give and honest opinion. Flames descend into personal attacks. There’s no need nor call for it. Even if the story is terrible no one forced you to read it.Give an honest opinion without flaming and move on. This is all fun and games, why ruin it by insulting someone?
A few things are on hiatus for now.
I write for enjoyment , and to stop all the insane and distracting ideas running around my head when I’m supposed to be doing work.
And when I found it really improved my writing style ( and my assignments) I had another excuse to write.
As a warning
-all the ratings put up on my stories are preliminary.
This is because generally I get a case of the plot bunnies; and wind up with something totally different form the direction I was heading in, as a result I may edit previous work, though I will say if I have fiddled with a chapter.
When I resume studying the flow of updates will dry up.
I won’t post thank you notes within the stories; and I'm going to pm the wonderful people who review from now on instead of leaving the replies here.
Thank you for your patience in waiting for my stories to kick off again.
I swear my writing has rose from the grave so often I should install a revolving lid on the coffin.
