Intrigue in the Bakumatsu Irohanihoheto
So, it's been awhile since I've written anything for a fandom- I suppose this doesn't change much. I'm not actually a fan of this series, but I did like some of the characters from it. For the show itself: the plot was barely there, there was little to no character development, the 'hero' and his 'rival' barely had any dialogue compared to the rest of the cast and the heroine was about as fascinating as cardboard. The best things about it were the opening and some of the ideas that turned up in the show and in some character backgrounds, but never had anything done with them. It was a show with a lot of potential that just never quite got used.
So- I've started a fanfiction based in that setting and cast that primarily hinges on Queen and Kanna. -And for the record, no, it is not a romance. A one night fling/pain sharing on a ship deck does not instantly constitute romantic interest. At present, I'm working on the 7th chapter. I want to get it at least to the 15th chapter before I post any of it, however. The overall length is looking to be anywhere from 20-25 chapters, give or take how long certain scenarios play out.
So- all current versions of my multi-chapter fanfics are now discontinued permanently. I can't consistently continue them as they are without what I lost. Perhaps one day I will put up new versions but as fanfiction is not high on my priority list as I progress on my own original works, don't hold your breath. I spend less time pursuing fandoms these days and more time developing my own stories. However, I will leave the incomplete versions up until such time as I choose to rewrite them. I am not looking for someone to take them over; they will remain as they are until I redo them.
Thank you for all your reviews, favorites and follows, and good luck in your own writing endeavors.
P.S.: Good news for those who were disappointed at my taking down Fallen Knight for .hack; I do still have the notes and such for that one- including the revised ones for the new version I never got around to posting. They were all handwritten, not stored on my computer. So, that might yet make a comeback.
